v Cardiff City (h) - 1/1/23
MarkBRFC replied to Sweaty Gussets's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Since venkys came through the door, the main goal at this club hasn't been to win football matches, and it never will be. Sadly I only really cottoned on to that two years into Mowbray's reign. -

I think Boro were in complete control after going ahead to be honest. They could have killed us off if they wanted but if they had done there homework on us, then they would have known that as soon as your in front against us you just have to see the game out and not do anything daft. Preserve some energy for there game on Sunday. It was a decent first half, but that was undone within 30 seconds of the second half. And experience tells me that only one side would have won the game from there and it certainly wouldn't have been us even if Buckley hadn't been sent off. -

Just experience watching this side. Not a chance we would have gone on to get the better of them after that, it's not what we do. I make that 15 league games in a row now where we have gone behind and failed to even score a equaliser never mind get anything out of the game. Most spineless team and manager we have had in over 30 years, and that's saying something. -

The red card has given this lot the perfect excuse. It was obvious after the first 30 seconds of the second half that there was only going to be one winner and we were on the verge of another complete no show. The red makes it all acceptable though, oh and that we are 3rd 🙄 What JDT said to them at half time who knows. I've never seen such a spineless team in all my time watching Rovers. From the management all the way down to the players. -

This lot will destroy us. Going for a third 4-1 home defeat on the bounce. -

Sky don't look at style of football. They see a side who is third in the table and show them a hundred times just because of there league position. -

? Venkys don't sack managers. 2 in the last 10 years, To want him out is surely the complete opposite of that?! -
8 Out of 10 league games in a row that is now on Sky. What on earth are they seeing that they want to show us so much.

Both clubs agreed to end there "break" early rather than fit it in midweek somewhere later in the season. It was meant to be on the weekend where the Queen passed away.

What's your opinion on it? I think it's obscene.

My Riverside season ticket was £319 for the 2019-20 season. Two years later the same seat was £399 for me or £429 for a new season ticket holder. The season tickets are too expensive, whether you can afford them or not.

Senegal beating World and European Champions France in the opening game of 2002 is up there too.

That would soon be drilled out of him if he was with the first team. Or he would end up out wide.

Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach
MarkBRFC replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
JDT saying he played Garrett because he needs to "develop" tells me that nothing has changed here and that results still don't matter, not even against that lot. It's a huge bonus for everyone concerned to be 3rd. Not saying i want him out but his card is certainly marked after this debacle. -
Yeah they could easily do that, i'm sure Ewood will hold up with two games in two nights with it having no action for a month. If that is the case i imagine the game against Celtic will be more like an under 18s game if we continue the theme with our CC cup teams we have picked so far. Anyway, I reckon it will be £20 adults and £10 kids and end up with around or just over 10k on. Halving the adult price and making it £1 for kids could generate a pretty healthy gate I reckon with it being the Christmas holidays, but it won't happen.

Yeah they updated if after they forgot to include it in the original article. If it had said it in the original article at the time of posting, I wouldn't have said it wasn't included.

I'll be amazed if he starts. JDT has already confirmed him starting tonight. -
Preston ticket details... https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2022/november/09/ticket-news--rovers-v-preston-north-end/ I know they stated at the beginning of the season that all derby games would start at £30, but Christ it's a poor do. The club will have received somewhere between £50-100k for moving the kick off to 12pm on Sky. Never expected anything different, but anybody with an ounce of sense would have used that cash to offset the prices with the position we are in. We could be going into that game top, after 3 weekends with no football. What could have been something up to 25k will probably settle around the 18k mark. Another huge missed opportunity in what is all too common in Waggots reign. They also fail to mention in the article that 1875 members can get £5 off, unless that has been put in the "all midweek games will be £20" file and forgotten about.

Yeah, if we're playing 3 at the back which i think we will, i would like to see Hedges floating behind Diaz and Gallagher with Trav and Moreton behind him, A.Wharton and Szmodics off the bench later on for any tired legs.
