I know you were happy to wait until the end of the window for signings Chaddy, something that most, including me, thought was the wrong call due to the number of key games in January (2 of which we’ve just lost). Has your view changed now due to the injuries? Also, I’m assuming that you are starting to share the concern of the group that we may not get the quality we need through the door. You mentioned BBD and Szmodics as examples of us bringing in championship players, I can’t see them splashing £7m or so on a striker. I wonder if they didn’t realise that players could leave for free at the end of the contract and that £7m would be lost. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit, especially if the rumours of them not knowing about relegation are true.

Surely if Sheffield United end up with BBD and Cannon then one of their forwards would become available. I’ve zero interest in Brewster but could we possibly look to bring in Tyreese Campbell or even better Kiefer Moore. Moore would definitely improve our starting line up. Thought Buckley grew into the game yesterday. Started taking people on rather than just passing sideways and backwards. However him alongside JRC in the middle of the park would be crazy. Based on that I reckon Forshaw starts on Tuesday. He didn’t look great on Saturday but let’s hope he surprises us on Tuesday. I don’t see us getting O’Brien, or even trying to get him.

Not sure if Harris is out injured or not, he didn’t play in their weekend loss in the FA cup but he scored a screamer past us at Ewood. I know we were linked when he was at Cardiff. He’s a player I’ve seen a lot of as he played in the same Cardiff youth team as my nephew.

This really makes no sense Chaddy. It’s like saying why would we sign Jude Bellingham and then loan out John Buckley. I’m not having a go but I don’t think you’ve thought through the statement. If we can sign a better player than we currently have then it shouldn’t matter if they are the same age as one of our existing squad. It’s about improving the team. If we can bring someone in who is better than what we have then surely we should do it.

We’re an injury or suspension away from being in a sticky spot at CB. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Sanderson is a key part of the squad by the end of the season. I think it’s a sensible signing. Clearly a leader as he was Eustaces captain at Birmingham. Right age profile as well as he’s got experience but plenty of years left in the game. Hes also saying all of the right things. My concern is that we’re leaving it too late to bring in a quality forward. Winnable games coming up and I’d much rather have someone through the door.
