[Archived] Blackburn End Drummers ?
mike at picture replied to ABBEY's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
I was in my usual spot in the BBE today and on reflection I dont remember being irritated by the drummers. Please tell me this isn't a result of me becoming immune. Were they there? -

Cue negative body language, sulking and a purple patch in the lead up to the January transfer window. -

Hang your head in shame SS. Bentley in the Telegraph today pointing out that as he is representing the Country he shouldn't be booed. Fat chance of the inbred apes taking any notice of that. -
I saw "Straightheads" on Monday. It had a pretty basic story and for me Danny Dyer always plays himself and is fairly one dimentional. He was a "Cockney geezer" again in this. Gillian Anderson was really good though imo. Very graphic violence throughout, some of it gratuitous. I think I'll see "This is England" next week, that looks really interesting.

I've been on Stanley games a few times this season and been richly entertained. FORTH top scorers in league 2! You wont get Tugay technique but you'll get your money's worth. I wouldn't ever go to Stanley before Rovers but let's not disparage those that do. Stanley is as dear to some as Rovers are to us. -

We've been lucky down the years to have "proper" footballers at Ewood - McKenzie, Ardiles, Sellars. After Garns though Toogs is my favourate Rover and it would be great for him to have a role at the club. Who better to improve the technique of the Academy kids? I have a feeling he's saved a few quid down the years and may have a place for him and his family on Turkey's Med coast. Even given the delights of the Ribble Valley I know where I'd rather be! -
Looked a bit of a cocky bugger in his post goal celebrations at Port Vale. Dont know if that's a good or bad thing - probably a bit of both.

There is something more than mere dissapointment with footballing performance in this and other posts from this poster. What's up? Has he cut you up on Audley Range? Knocked over your pint? Looked at your Mrs? Issues here. ffs -

Would one of them be from North London, not be very good and not be called Arsenal? Just for a change. -

I wouldn't be best pleased if any of our players got injured/knackered playing for that steaming pile. -

Dont see your point about his touch. Where I sit in the BBE I see him chase many an awkward ball down the channels and I've yet to see him struggle with his control. -

Maybe, maybe not. I agree with Bob here, why are certain posters making negative comments on here about Matt Derbyshire? If somebody has gone overboard in their enthusiasm about him why not say "lets not get carried away" instead of "he'll never be world class"? Personally I am overjoyed that a fellow Rover is representing our club with such distinction and is clearly so proud to be doing so. He is now doing the same for his country and some psoters (seemingly one in particular) are griping about the lad. He's a willing runner, has a good football brain and looks a natural finisher with a bit of pace. Nobody is saying he's the finished article but he is great prospect. What's more he is one of us. Perhaps that's the problem for some - local lad made good, living the dream. Jealousy? -

North west tv in the 80's was more camp than a row of pink valour tents. Didn't Elton Welsby have a fling with John Munday? Or was that Roy Barraclough? Anyway it's much better now - Ranvir Singh
