  1. You reckon? Been a good while since I’ve felt any at Ewood.
  2. I’m sure I remember their fans saying what a great signing he was when they went on that not to be sustained run in August.
  3. The last two crises have been averted by selling Gary Madine and former owner Eddie Davies sorting out the last cash flow issue just before he died. Not sure how much longer they can keep pulling these rabbits out the hat...
  4. He’s replying to this: https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/17276824.comment-why-ken-anderson-owes-wanderers-fans-an-explanation/ Anderson’s note is a serious stream of consciousness rant! The fact that he states that they struggle for cash flow in just the two weeks of an international break tells me they are in a bad way...
  5. I assume JH is referring to Waggott’s comment that any following over 2k will have the bottom tier. Though if they have been given the upper to start with, I presume the additional will be up there too...
  6. I would say this forum is probably not the norm when it comes to views on the owners, well not when compared to match going fans. I would say pretty much every conversation I’ve had about the owners over the past 12 months has had the other person say something like: ’They were badly advised, but they’ve learnt their lesson’ ’They’ve put more money in than Jack’ ’The missing fans should come back and support the club like Venky’s are doing’ ’Who’s going to buy the club?’ I would say the LT comments section seems more true to what I hear at Ewood them on here, unfortunately.
  7. He’ll be on a nice PL wage whilst playing regularly in the Championship, I doubt he regrets anything...
  8. Hope you’re right! However, they won’t go anytime soon.
  9. For every player bought with ‘potential’ that makes it, another one doesn’t. It’s a risk and for a club with our income, it’s a big one at that. Yet, we don’t now how much of this ‘7 million’ will ever get paid or at what stage. Is it say, 4 million up front (well in instalments) with another million if we get to the PL, another if he plays for England etc. If that’s the case, then we won’t end up out of pocket in the long run, you would wager. If it is a straight 7 million purely for the lad as he is now, then that is a big risk for us ever getting it back.
  10. Picking up on Bluebruce’s point, since getting rid of reserve teams, how many matches do non Academy fringe players play? As they usually don’t play in the under 23s. I.e Downing, Leutweiler, even Brereton and Rothwell who only seem to get 15 minutes every (sometimes every other) week, is that optimum for keeping players sharp?
  11. One good thing is that they tend to put away fans in the bottom tier for early cup games, so no oxygen tanks required at the top!
  12. They ruined something I was immensely proud of, but we are where we are and who’s going to put in the millions of capital every year then? I’m more than happy for them to be silent parters, they can stay a milllion miles from Ewood, but they are currently the only show in town.
  13. ‘As a Christmas gesture to our loyal away support, the owners are subsiding the ticket costs for the Leeds game, Rovers fans will pay just £2x ‘ I’ve seen other clubs owners do it, Wolves did it for Leeds away last season, not something that will ever happen here alas.
  14. My 7k included 4K barcodes, not travelling in massive numbers the PASSIONATE, SUCCESS DESERVING GEORDIES at the moment.
  15. ‘Rovers welcome PREMIER LEAGUE GIANTS Newcastle United to Ewood Park for the third round replay. With a bumper crowd expected, get your ticket now. They start at £25’ Week later... attendance... 7,000.
  16. 15% of the ground, so 8,000. Doubt we’d even need a quarter of that! We’ll get 45% of the gate receipts though, Waggott will be hoping their fans don’t arrange a boycott!
  17. Don’t ever change Vinners!
  18. It’s like Dyche. Bloke was the second coming. Tactical genius, pubs, dogs, kids named after him and all that. Few months later and they want him sacked. What an occupation!
  19. Fair enough, it’s just not something unique to us or Mowbray. Life of a manager.
  20. His David Brent-Isms would really start to grate when bottom of the league.
  21. If the summer interest in Freeman and Chapman was real, perhaps a wide man will happen in January...
  22. Think the ‘praise the players when you win, blame the manager when you lose’ happens everywhere and always has. You come off a match after a good win and you wax lyrical about individual performances of players, the goals etc. When you pay badly, it always goes back to the manager as he has trained the collective.
  23. Saw a thread on their forum saying they should buy Roofe from their ‘feeder club Leeds’ Why on earth would Roofe do that to his career with the clubs hurtling in different directions? Their time in the sun is coming to an end and I’m not sure some of them have noticed...
  24. Some of my and another’s posts were removed, which was for the best!
