  1. Carry on like we have been this past 18 months and a normal club could re-emerge. However, around 2014/15 I thought something similar, we’d put together a good Championship squad, the likes of Myers were saying all the right things. Ewood was spruced up a bit. The first game of the season, Friday night against Cardiff there was real optimism... Fast forward 2 years and they’d pretty much sold the lot and Coil was in charge. So I try not to think ahead with these owners.
  2. Boro is ‘bring a mate for a £10’. Alas, these kind of deals don’t usually work. Especially for a TV game. We did it for Bury last season and the uptake was minimal. Better than nowt, I suppose and obviously the club will now flag this up at the next Fans Forum with as ‘look we did an offer and it wasn’t a success’. Yes, but with strings attached. Also, a £10 for 1875 members, though not sure how many of those we have left?
  3. Category B then. Bit of pricing sanity from the club for once.
  4. Johnno... “Throughout my career I have never known a first team manager attend so many games. So he has a real awareness of the group and the qualities within it and knows them as well as I do. We know that he will give them opportunities, we know that from the couple of years he has been with us. The carrot is there for them.” https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17410789.mowbray-has-dangled-the-carrot-to-rovers-rising-stars/
  5. Looks like it’s Boro a week on Sunday then...
  6. Their match thread is an interesting read. Poster Moments of Pleasure confirms what we already knew - southerners just aren’t football people. https://www.otib.co.uk/index.php?/topic/199396-how-many-to-blackburn/&page=3
  7. It’s always a tough one. When does a legend merge into a cult hero? As an example. David Speedie - only 1 season, but fired us to promotion in ‘92 with hat trick after hat trick and the fans adored him and his attitude. The journey to the title started that season.
  8. Put the peroxide down Col!
  9. Does he run Sheff Utd's? corporate side?
  10. The top 3 have all been on dodgy runs, so no team has been able to pull away or be cast adrift. Will be an interesting run in.
  11. Not saying it is. Just how I foresee things turning out. Things may be different if money is consistently spent on improving the squad. However, the rub is, you can end up chasing your tail as it’s a two way street and our better players end up over the hill and/or sold.
  12. Nearly men for a season or two , then a decline is my prediction. 2013-2015 version 2.
  13. I don’t think we’ll do it, loads of sides around the top 6 and I foresee further slappings away from home. But, if we do finish fairly strongly, top 8 or so, and continue to improve the squad, then... ‘this time next year Rodders...’
  14. I’ve no problem with that. However, the facts are that Graham’s back ups are two raw lads. Not their fault, of course, just a result of some strange recruitment policies.
  15. Oh Bizzle, ‘twas just said in jest. Thought he looked ok yesterday, let’s hope it was the start of something for all our sakes.
  16. Won’t somebody PLEASE think of the flex!
  17. It is what it is. But seeing the young lass in front of me being confronted by a steward and handed a letter with a load of fans gawking seemed a little sledgehammer to crack a nut-esque to me. Could they not have just posted it? Or invited her in for a chat?
  18. Without doubt. It was a game that needed the sting taken out of it. Get Smallwood on and shore up the middle of the park. Instead Conway gets brought on, two young strikers are chucked on and unsurprisingly we quickly descend into a rabble.
  19. 18,000 Dingles at t’Turf yesterday, that’s for the Premier League and on the back of their best season for 45 years. Goes to show our current 12,000 or so home fans we attract after the decade we’ve had and for a current mid table Championship side isn’t terrible for a club with our demographics. It is just magnified by the size of Ewood. We need to start by pushing that 12k up to say 14k and on it goes. Big summer ahead.
  20. I didn’t. Birmingham next.
  21. Too much Bordeaux obviously.
  22. Bored you to death. Indeed it did and here we are.
  23. Me. We had a team of quality players and I watched my town club with little money as an established PL club. After the near decade we’ve had, such statements still amaze me.
  24. ??? Two completely wrong statements.
