  1. be daft to drink it if he wasn't!
  2. I was furious at the end of the sa innings as we'd bowled really badly, but Roy and hales set it up and that joe root can play a bit. How good is he? Just keeps the scoreboard ticking over and hits big shots when he can
  3. No way was that clueless capitulation. A bad day at the office, yes. A day when Marshall couldn't hit a decent cross, when the ball wouldn't drop for us from any 50/50, where passes went astray more often than they have been recently and when our players were still trying at the end. I used to come away from a defeat feeling so down I'd be in a bad mood for the rest of the week. Today I felt we didn't do that much wrong so I felt cross we lost a winnable game but not really deflated , bored or downright angry
  4. no I meant exactly what I said in response to the previous post. But then you knew that, didn't you? I, unfortunately, did not have a team sheet and therefore did not comment on the players as I hadn't a clue who any of them were.
  5. Moon was indeed very impressive. Enjoyed the game but nightmare trying to decide where to go after coming out of the car park and along to what used to be the main road. Think I broke just about every rule
  6. You been listening to Ronaldo's press conference? lol
  7. Quite agree. It's not T20 that is bad. It's the idea of franchises. I watch all formats of the game, different challenges, differently interesting. But I wouldn't go to watch a franchise. Football is bad enough with players moving increasingly often but buying players in for a few week tournament goes against how I want to watch my sport.
  8. I have to admit this is one that surprised us more Han anything else about Leicester's success
  9. Used to love callums bistro. Great food in a really quirky atmosphere
  10. Went to the 3 fishes last Monday. 3 courses was on offer at 15 instead of 25. It was bring your own wine night as it is every monday then as we were leaving there was a tombola and I pulled out a 3 course meal for 2 in Jan or Feb. Can't be bad
  11. My pet hate at the moment is the awfulness that is strictly come dancing. I dislike the main programme but can just about cope withmy husband watching it but he watches all the other rubbish it takes 2 programmes too. That means it's on every night of the week. It's almost getting to divorce proportions!
  12. Just back from brittany. Can honestly say I never had a bad meal in the 40 or so I ate out. Relaxed service but very friendly and welcoming. Great presentation even in scruffy looking little places. Waiters in jeans and t shirts but they knew their food. My only problem is that just occasionally I longed for a meal with proper gravy. First thing I've cooked now I'm back is shepherds pie
  13. I think that's why we don't go any more. It's the difference between what our eyes see and what bowler tells us he's seen. I just got tired of knowing we were useless and being told we were in the game but for bad luck or whatever. You can forgive poor results. What you can't forgive is consistent poor performances and especially when they are denied by the manager
  14. Totally agree about Willis. He never sounds even vaguely impressed. Love Swann on tms. Like Michael Vaughan and can cope with boycott. Can't watch while I'm at work but can sometimes listen when I'm free and doing admin work.
  15. Aussie press reckon we won because we outplayed and out thought them and most importantly, played like a team who actually like one another and aren't playing a one upmanship game on the pitch. They aren't talking about the pitch favouring us, about us getting lucky or anything else. I think we've got so used to being negative about rovers that it's rubbing off on our attitude to other things. Yes we got lucky at one or 2 points but that's what good teams do- they make the lucky things count. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I can't wait for Thursday, even if the Aussies come back and beat us. Who cares? If this is only one match, so is that one. Who's to say if we get beat, we won't up our game. Even Boycott said some of the play was excellent. Enjoy the moment, and look forward, not back.
  16. Pietersen is a disruptive influence has been wherever he's played. Starts ok then throws his toys out of the pram if things aren't going his way. The one thing that was clear in the last series is how great the team spirit is at the moment. Now you can go on about how good a batsman kp is but he's not a tea player. You can get away with that when you're in your prime but kp is now past that stage. He can turn it on with the bat in one dryers and t20 but can he do long days in the field and hang around waiting to bat without winding others up? I don't think so and that's why I definitely wouldn't disrupt our team by considering him even if he were fit to play.
  17. Yorkshires score would have beaten most teams last night. Unfortunately their bowling, and especially their fielding, let them down meaning it was a non- match, once the lancs innings was over. There was no chance yorks could catch them although, in GB parlance, they gave it a right good go
  18. Season tickets 60 pounds for 7 matches. This is the 5th time I think we've had them. You had to specify a stand but you could sit anywhere really as the ground was never a sell out. This time however I think they'll make you head for the right stand
  19. Stand C. For this one you'll have to sit in the one you have tickets for I reckon. And matt83, I was born and brought up in the north riding. Yorkshire are my home team.
  20. Can be expensive but buys wickets. Off to OT tomorrow for T 20. Happy whatever the result. Love it when Yorkshire win - loved their trouncing of Durham this week - but have an OT season ticket so will take a lancs win too. Just hope it's a good close match and we get it in before the rain comes back tomorrow night
  21. Grief reb! Good to hear from you again.
  22. It's just that we now have a static caravan nearby and when someone mentioned the restaurant I thought I remembered someone on here mentioning it big couldn't think who
  23. Looking forward to watching the highlights. Listened on the radio whilst travelling home. Btw Gordon, was it you who had eaten at l'enclume in cartmell?
  24. And there's me thinking it was to get away from us lot!
  25. Problem is, we can't all get to test matches or odi, but we can all potentially get to some t20, which is the main reason it's all I watch live. 6.30 starts now at old Trafford at £60 for 7 matches means it's accessible to loads of people
