On the contrary - both are to blame , those who pay Sky and those fools who happily pay £36 to watch a bunch of ponces prance around a field . At least those who watch in the pub are only paying for their ale - the landlord is paying SKy ! Where me and you differ , Gordon , is that you defend the high gate prices . I don't , not just because of the cost , but because in the long run it is not the answer - it just makes the problem worse . If you want to watch football at a full ground these days then the only solution is to charge affordable prices for the whole family . Supply and demand . Sooner or later even the paymasters Sky will realise that no-one wants to watch games with no fans (except for your goodself and Jan of course )

Bad choice - I switched over to watch the Egyptian docu/drama , much more entertaining

.....and guess who'd have to pay for it all by means of higher gate prices - yep , Theno and Jan !! -
They forgot to tell about him not smoking either .......which reminds me of Don Martin who used to smoke at the side of the pitch The Good Old Days

I half expected Theno's name to crop up in that link advocating the "final solution" ....

Sheff Utd 2 - 0 Rovers . Can't see us wanting it enough . Hopefully Tugay does the bizzo to prove me wrong . -
Unfortunately it did . Getting knocked out by someone who didn't need to get out of their chair . An embarrassment to Blackburn .....

Well I was just as disappointed with England as I was when Sven was in charge . Very little movement off the ball , no drive by either Gerard or the invisible Lampard going forward - that was left to Hargreaves who is supposed to be the holding midfielder . Nothing down the flanks until Lennon came on . Terrible passing and retention of the ball . English football is becoming the most slowest and predictable in the world . McClaren spoke about us becoming a fast passing and movement outfit . Nothing to suggest that yet I'm afraid .

That's quite an assumption . All in all I'm glad we'll have to wait 'til January . £2m is too much at the moment . -
Doubt it . Probably get away with it completely ....

Which puts The Drog's argument that it is preferable for the club to charge higher prices in order to maximise revenue to bed . It'll surely get to the point that people stop going not just because of the price but because of the lack of atmosphere from the sub 10,000 crowd - however much they're paying . A self perpetuating cycle that'll kill the club .... I'll agree with Gordon on one point . Simple demographics will kill this club as surely as apples are apples . Ewood Park is as likely to be a mosque in 50 years time than to be a football ground . In the meantime we can fight against the decline only by charging admission fees within the affordibility range of our own supporters . I'm not saying my solution of free tickets for kids is going to solve all our problems ....but it's preferable to the slow death of attempting to compete with stupid prices against the Chelsea's and Mancs of this world . The bottom line is that we have to make our economies ELSEWHERE than overcharging our fans . That way is only hastening the decline .
-
Don't worry - there's always Al Jazeera . They present an excellent package . Available at your local pub free of charge ......

I've already offered one potential solution - offer adult tickets at the "market" price but with a couple of free tickets for kids thrown in . That way at least you have a chance of getting seats filled and win potential new recruits for the future . I know both my lads are now avid supporters because I took them from an early age . Charging - or attempting to - £30 odd quid for an adult who is then expected to pay another £30 for his kids is just plain madness in this area of the country . You alienate BOTH the existing fans AND their kids . Now you may call me tight or stupid or disloyal or all three ; I don't care in the slightest . All I know is that by keeping prices at this level we are losing support on an almost weekly basis . It is a false economy in the medium run never mind the long run . Liverpool and Arse etc can afford to lose 10,000+ fans and keep prices high . We can't . We have to make economies elsewhere . Either that or sit with 10,000 people all paying £50 or £60 a ticket . Where's your breaking point , Theno ? As for Lancashire Utd ; forget it . Anyone brought up supporting the Rovers would rather pay a fiver and watch them in the conference than support a Big Business Soulless Conglomerate Utd . That goes for Burnley , Preston , Blackpool fans as well . life doesn't begin and end in the premiership .

This letter won't make the slightest bit of difference whatsoever . People will just blame the club for encouraging Sky to go down this route . They won't like being virtually blackmailed into going down to Ewood and will be less inclined to watch the Rovers than they were before . And meantime the prices will go up and the gates will carry on going down and down ......until there's only The Drog and Jan there paying the "market" price ...
-
At least the Sheff Wednesday lads could play their instruments - there was musical content . Those clowns in the BBE just bang the bloody drums as hard as they possibly can - no musical content whatsoever . A total embarrassment . I must admit the Shef Wed band IMO added to the atmosphere at Ewood in the days when they were in the top flight .

Good stuff - the venomous bits are a welcome counterbalance to some of the sycophancy we read on here
