Disappointing - but entirely predictable . So why didn't the Rovers have kids for a quid for yesterday's game . Come see the conquerers of Madrid for a quid ; sounds a bit better than come see Villa for as quid . In fact when are they going to start offering kids for a quid at every game ?

[Archived] Blackburn End Drummers ?
blue phil replied to ABBEY's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Maybe so , but that's no reason to further hasten the demise of the one part of the ground where there's still a desire to keep at least a bit of atmosphere going . Keeping these idiot drummers is positively helping to kill the atmosphere completely . They simply cannot play the damn instruments to any level beyond that of total embarrassment . Contrast that with the two drummers who Portsmouth brought with them ; their drums were not as loud but were played with a degree of rhythmic quality that our lot could only dream of . IMO , and I've said it before , BRISA should put this issue at the top of their agenda . At the very least a season (or ten) without them could be tried as an experiment . PS ...I agree with those who say that the PA system is now at an intolerable level , making conversation at half time nigh on impossible . Is it a ploy to drive people down the concourse to spend money at the bar ? -

I thought it was only Rodney Marsh who got pulled at half time.... -
I judge Tugay as a footballer - nothing more , nothing less . There is no positive discrimination in football , everyone is judged on their merits . Perhaps if this example was spread throughout society there'd be less hassle ...... Oh BTW , Mcgarry , you seem to be confusing race and religion ...........again

Terrible injury . I hope none of us dare sing a few "Cisse style" songs at him next time he plays against us - that would get some of the posters on here up in arms
-
It will certainly be an emotional day when he leaves the Ewood pitch for the last time . That is one thing we can all agree on for once

Good summation of the role Tugay plays in the team . The only criticism I can make of one of the 3 or so finest players we have had in the prem is that he doesn't move upfield more often where his superb vision and incisive passing could be perhaps even more effective. The man is a joy to behold when he is on form , creating space out of nothing and relieving the pressure on the inferior beings alongside him who , along with the forwards , really should be making more runs to accomodate his vision . Yep I'd deffo like to see him play in front of the water carriers rather than behind where , it has to be said , his mistakes can be costly . Nevertheless , he is always likely to create something - his pass to Peter showed that on Wednesday - and if fit would always be first on the teamsheet for me

That may well have been the case a couple of seasons ago but whilst Friedel is still an excellent keeper his postioning and command of his area has become increasingly erratic . This is my Onepost on the subject and hopefully Flopsy and Jansenpresty will not be too thick to understand it.... -
Any idea when the draw is made for this comp..?

I'm thinking of switching to Toucan - one of the the cheapest ! Any experience with it anyone ? -
Isn't this is an issue that BRISA have deemed important enough to be worthy of its own special meeting with the Rovers bigwigs ? I hope those who are sat round the table aren't so sensitive when debating an issue that could lead to the very demise of the club itself.

If I was a supporter of any of these teams I would be praying NOT to be included in any Euro league . Much better to have a realistic chance of winning something in the English league than play a bit part in a Euro league that could never aspire to the history and traditions that our leagues take for granted . Let the big clubs go ; they'd be back cap in hand within 3 or 4 years and hold a fraction of the bargaining power they now hold . -
How long before that is a serious suggestion ? And in this multi-cultural society isn't it racist to try and impose our values on the Asians by cajoling them down to Ewood ? Let's concentrate on those who have lasped but still feel some degree of affinity with the town and its club . Those and the kids are our only hope of getting the figures up .

A lot of balls and a huge backlash .......!! Not just the NOTW by the sounds of it.......oooohh -
Not a chance . Wrong colour of hair .... Might do for Lancashire Utd though

My guess is that Shearer will learn the ropes until the end of the season with the rodent and take over full time next season . From what I've heard on the radio today many of the Geordie fans are appreciative of just how much money Shepherd has ploughed into the club , but are all too aware that his decisions on the management have been flawed to say the least . I reckon he'll take the easy option this time and put his faith in Shearer . Probably the wisest choice . He's managed to divert the worst of the anger and blame onto Souness this time ; one more bad choice as manager and he'll face the wrath .

I bet he votes for the Lib Dems ... -

No doubt it will produce a bit of income - but just how representative of the fans in general are those pre pubescants who tend to use their phones for these silly marketing ploys ? The end result will be to alienate more people and as a result generate less revenue due to people refusing to buy the shirts voted for . Very predictable and very avoidable . Surely a better way could have been found to get the fans' views .....BRISA ?
-
Has he denied an escape clause ....?

The way Google's expanding we'll be having links in Mandarin next ......subject to censor of course

It's got to be 3 and 3 . The third home is more traditional , the first two aren't wholly blue and white "halves" . I've always liked a red based away strip . Not that I have any intention of buying any of them - shirts should be for players only .
-
In that case the club would just nudge the price up accordingly to suit the demand . A bit like flights suddenly going up in the school hols or when a Euro tie is being played in the vicinity of an airport ! This seems to be a decent idea at first glance .

If Martin O'Neill's personal circumstances weren't so trying he would walk into this job - miles ahead of Hiddink and light years ahead of Hughes ! - the perfect compromise between those who want an English manager and those who would look abroad again . Out of the English mob Big Sam carries the best credentials . It doesn't seem to have crossed people's minds that the style of football he favours now have been dependant on resources at Bolton . Didn't Hughes' reign start off as such ? However, it's a few months into the future before the final decision has to be made . Like it or not , Erickson will lead us in Germany . If Sven looked as though the weight of the world had been lifted from his shoulders in the recent interview it was probably because everything is now in the open , the worst of the NoW revelations are past , his contract pay off has been negotiated , and he can now concentrate on the football . Even he must realise that his future prospects and credibility are now subject to the results of England .
