QPR Away / Mercer’s Wine Club
Gav replied to roversfan99's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Are you sure? Battered at home by Brentford, Rotherham, Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham in the last 4 home games? This site would have the pitch forks out if our record was similar. Thankfully we’re much better than that. -

Promotion is the only thing that matters, do you think Boro are going up this season? -

On a QPR theme: Who remembers Tim Flowers debut at QPR in 93 I think it was? Just signed him from Southampton and we filled the place. I seem to recall us singing "Flowers in the rain" by The Move for large parts of the match, a few fans presented Flowers with bunches of flowers at the start of the match which we lost 0-1. They can't take our memories away.

I can 47er. The pitch is expected to deteriorate significantly, England would love to only have to bat once on this pitch, set a massive score to win the game, doesn't look likely now to be honest unless India capitulate.

Great target set by James Vince and Sydney Sixers 188/6 Over to you Liam Livingston.

I remember my dad telling me he took a big bottle of champagne to one game at the baseball ground, thousands of Rovers fans went. We lost, the champagne never got drunk, I'm certainly not an old chip off the block because I'd have demolished it before we got past Crewe! 1977 FA Cup seems a bit late to be sneaking bottles of champagne into the ground, but it looks like the only option.

We also played Hull City that season, but I don't remember it being built in a bowl.

It doesn't say sadly, but we did play at Carlisle that season, so you could be right

Last one for now - Anyone recognise the ground 1968?

I always liked this picture, Bobby Moore playing his last game at Ewood

I’ve watched the big bash religiously in recent years, but not seen a game this time around. I’ll try and catch the final and follow that up with some 6 nations rugby.

10,000+ Rovers fans. Away sections full at 2pm - 1000’s sent to the beehole end, scene from Zulu as the fans battled throughout the game. I wasn’t there, gutted. @USABlue was, @trs was. Over to you chaps.

The rumour was, Kendall wanted to sign Bob Latchford when we got promoted from division 3, but the board couldn’t find the cash. We missed out on promotion to division one by 1 goal.......

Brilliant. We did the same late 80's, drew at Ewood took it back to Villa Park, Andy Kennedy scored for us but lost eventually, thousands missed the goal due to traffic on M6. The terraces behind the goal are half full at the start of the clip, not so much in the second half. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaxDiEjQs_M&t=478s
