  1. Doncaster was fantastic, a brilliant night Darren. Promotion is promotion, both equally as good for me, throw Preston and Bury into the mix also.
  2. I think this deserves to be in the celebrity section. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/18945952.ronnie-hill-tributes-paid-devoted-family-man-legend-blackburn-rovers-supporters-scene/ I knew Ronnie from watching Rovers over many years, a lovely man and a more dedicated Rovers fan you'll struggle to meet. I was aware he'd not been well, this has just knocked me/us sideways..... If you're reading this Mackey and the GT Harwood lot - We're thinking about you all. RIP Ronnie - Rovers legend.
  3. Can we get to the Tranmere game as soon as possible please, I'm worried sick we'll not go up 😪 I can't sleep properly, I'm not eating properly and the Mrs isn't speaking to me because apparently: "I think more about football than I do about our relationship"
  4. 3 points, job done. 5 points off a playoff place, players to come back in, let’s hope we can push on, that’s what we all want. The futures bright, the futures Blue n White......isn’t it?
  5. Doubled up as a cricket ground I believe renrag? Thanks for the photo Rasa 👍
  6. Its not often a Rovers photograph comes along these days that I've not seen before, but this is one of them, thanks for sharing. I want to say its taken at the back of Nuttall Street stand?
  7. Lived down Pleasington near the Butlers, or used to, nice chap. RIP George.
  8. Seen it before, years ago, B&W I think Tyrone? Very good.
  9. Didn't know where to put this, Rovers craft larger and beer, good news I'd say: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/18938161.why-not-beer-supports-club-says-craft-beer-company/
  10. Gerard Houllier has died aged 73. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55300386
  11. Its not your job to sack the manager either but you seem to have no trouble forming an opinion on that. Let me help you, Matt suggested Pearson or Hughes yesterday, I'd go with either one of those, it won't happen of course, if Mowbray was sacked we'd probably end up with Monk, fighting relegation.
  12. I've not asked him Sparks, he went very quiet after the first few rounds, but I can guarantee he never cashed out. Pulev was bleeding tough, some of those shots he took would have put away most heavyweights, landing flush too. Lawrence Okolie was the star of the evening, that lads going places, he was a league above the Polish fighter, but what power, what a unit.
  13. Good shout, we’d probably end up with Gary Monk....
  14. The goal is to get promoted with the current crop, who would you bring in to do that Matt?
  15. I agree. Who would you replace him with? I’d have Hughes in a heartbeat, we’d not lose wondering that’s for sure, but can’t think of anyone else that could take this squad up, that’s what poster are looking for.
  16. You’ll always have exceptions to the rule, it’s easy to cherry pick, I can give you plenty of examples where that didn’t happen.
  17. I said at the end of last season that I’d give him 10 games to show some improvement and he passed test with flying colours. We look a different side to the one that trudged through the back end of last season. He deserves and will probably get until the end of the season at least. If Warnock or Hughes show an interest in the post I’d sack him, but until that happens we hold our nerve, plenty of games in the locker.
  18. Mate of mine has just sent me a bet slip, he took the Mexican to beat Tommy Frank last night and Pulev to win tonight. £33 double - wins £2000
  19. £25 for Joshua v Pulev tonight, I'll be paying for it but its a bit steep for a mismatch. Pulev got under AJ's skin at the weigh in, may make it interesting for a while, but I don't think Pulev's got the engine to trouble Joshua.
  20. I was talking to someone formerly of this parish yesterday, I've been posting on this site for 22yrs, we must have agreed more than once surely 😂
  21. If I’ve upset anyone with my comment then I do apologies. Ill pick my words more carefully in future.
  22. I almost deleted the line to be honest, though it might get me in trouble 😇
  23. I only use this site, never had Facebook, never had twitter, tick tock or Instagram. I was once accused of being someone on The Telegraph website, never had an account, hardly ever read the comments. Social media can do a hell of a lot of good, keeps dispersed families connected, some of the charity stuff that happens via social media warms the heart, it really does. Its been a god send to many families with elderly relatives who are isolating during Covid for example. Some of the work to find donors for cancer patients has been massively expanded with the introduction of social media and much more. But the bad side is bullshit spreading, radicalisation, abuse, child abuse, sexual exploitation and I could go on. I'm not naïve enough to think this wouldn't go on without social media, but they do provide a platform and a relatively safe space for these people to operate. On a personal note I'd lose very little if they shut social media down tomorrow, I'd miss Jim, den, TS, Philipl and 47er of course, and many more, but I'd cope 😃
  24. This is what I was replying to, not something 4 pages back or I’d have quoted that! its simply not true. Did you miss the Ayala header for example? I was off the settee, I scored it, he put it wide.
  25. I take your point on the defence Sparks. He has tried to address the issues, Tosin last season, Ayala this, fullback required, maybe, Keeper sorted. Mowbray has this team firing currently, we should have won at Bristol, we should have won at Brentford, but for a red card, he’s got us heading in the right direction and long may it continue.
