Love the sentiment, but world class These are world class: Zidane Vieira Keane Figo Iniesta Xavi Ronaldinho Kaka

Don tried to buy every possible striker who scored more than 1 goal! Lineker, Sheringham, Paul Stewart, Mike Newell, Andy Payton The list goes on. Did a great job for us, will be remembered fondly, but his time was up, Jack did the right thing, the rest is history. They can't take away our memories, League Champions, League cup, European cup appearance, UEFA cup several times, a small town club punching well above its weight, tremendous.

Has anyone been watching Grayson Perrys Big American Road Trip? Good viewing with him putting the Americans uncomfortably on the back foot

I remember the Hull league cup game well if only for that dingle Payton equalising. Then it got even worse over the coming weeks when Don tried to sign him!

Brilliant film TS.

Are you being serious 99? We’ve had an excellent start to the season, you’d predicted doom and gloom, enjoy the unbeaten run, it won’t last forever. -
I’m sat here watching the first 15 minutes of Saving Private Ryan - Harrowing, traumatic, heroic and more superlatives I can’t think of right now. Speilbergs a genius, truly takes you to heart of the battle, hero’s everyone one of them. I’m also minded at this stage to mention Schindler’s List - A film that should be shown in every school across the globe. We are moaning and groaning about wearing face masks, not able to go to the pub, can’t follow rules on social distancing........ Try doing all the above whilst avoiding machine gun fire......

It’s been a great start to the season, we look a much better side than last, all across the park, with very little tinkering. I said give the manager 10 games to prove we’re making progress, so far he’s getting a B+, and long may it continue. -
Apologies just seen this.
-
Charlie Austin available from West Brom apparently. Just the sort of player to fire a team out of this division. Be interesting to see where he ends up.
-
Superb Hoochie, great find.

It’s a fantastic story, local lads done good and more importantly they’ve not lost sight of local roots and stayed true to the town. I wish them well. Ps - Can you have a word with the 3 stooges in Pune? See if you can bring the club home, back into local ownership where it belongs.

It was on the telly box also, not sure what program, but big Ron was commentating. Chucking it down, Hendry last minutes I think, the season didn’t end well, worst day of my footballing life at Palace in the play offs. Think I’ve got the years vrs games right, but I’m getting older, grey matter not what it used to be.

Cheeky sod.

It’s a good job I know everything about football, politics, Covid and Brexit because I clearly know nowt about cricket 78/7 !
-
Not a great start, 52/3 off 9 overs, going to struggle from here I think.

Dyslexia had clearly kicked in, crying = Skriking (I read it Skirking) My apologies. Not wanting to take the thread off track but what the hell is a dooins? Where is it? Over there near’t dooins

Stood on the Bburn end in disbelief! We almost blew it though, West Ham obviously got slaughtered by the manager at H/T and came out a different side, but we held on, just.

Lancashire V Sussex at 1pm today in T20 Blast quarter finals. Weather looks ok at the moment and I believe it’s live online.

My parents had their wedding reception in the Balaclava pub back in the day. The building still stands, the pub sign is still there also or was last time I was in the area.

I remember us playing West Ham around that time and Lenny Johnrose scored, Liam Brady played for the Hammers, still quality. Think we went 4-0 up which prompted the West Ham fans to have a sit down protest on the Darwen end and the game ended up 4-3 I think.

What the hell Is Skriking? I walked up Livesey Branch road for many years, I could have seen it, I might have done it, but what the fook is it

I'm sure I went 1yr and we lost 4-0, Tommy Tynan (Plymouths Simon Garner) scoring all 4. One year Sellers scored from a corner, the wind was howling in the direction of the away end, we all hid behind the wall at the back and missed most the game. No idea why I decided to go to the furthest away game possible year in year out........
