  1. You can hear the champagne corks now....... A proper ground for proper cricket fans, and a local shop, somewhere in the Midlands or North of England.
  2. With over 260k fans coming through the gates at MCG isn't it about time we built a stadium that can cope with the demand for tickets in this country? I've not been to as much cricket as I once did in recent times, but the demand for tickets still seems to be high, this despite the disgraceful prices now being charged around the country. I never want cricket to go the way football has with the influx of Sky money, but a 50k national stadium surly makes sense from a fan perspective, at international level anyway?
  3. Curran gets Smith, good effort lad, let's get a couple more quick wickets and make a game of it.
  4. Poor start once again by England, no chances at all, on a great batting wicket granted. Think its TMS through the night and bit of shut eye, its going to be a long test match, AGAIN.
  5. You could well be right, but sadly we have nobody better Chaddy. Moeen has had a fantastic year, deserved his place, and Broad who I've never liked to be honest has the stats and performances to justify his place. In Auz you need pace in attack, we don't have it at the moment, simple as that. From a batting perspective we've been awful, with a couple of exceptions, not good enough, but lets hope we win the next 2 to build a bit of confidence.
  6. Villa certainly was 79/80 season, lost in a replay at Villa Park.
  7. It's been a rotten 10yrs for Rovers fans away from home, and I for one have nothing but respect for the regulars like yourself/Aggy and hundreds more who trek up and down the land following the club week in week out. I'm made up you, finally seeing us win more than we're losing, and long may it continue.
  8. Don't give them ideas RV, the transfer windows just around the corner and the new Nissan Micra '18' plates are due out, Barry will be all over it..... But on a serious note I recall Mowbray saying when he signed that he has the ability to play at the highest level, just needs to knock the Essex girls and flat larger on the head. Took him a while to settle, but we're now seeing him run games through the midfield, very good signing by Mowbray.
  9. Or he bagged 2 goals in our last game....
  10. I need to be cr@p inspector Clouseau to decipher that bunkum You've not been around that long, so you're excused, but the match day thread was always full of posters scores and reasons why, made for interesting reading and created a much more vibrant lead up to any game. Glad to see you've joined in, can't argue with any of that, even though I went for 3-1 Rovers, I'd take 1-1.
  11. Let's have a few more score predictions please posters. The addition of guess the team/tactics is welcome, but a score prediction and quick reason was always the intention of the match day thread. Makes for interesting reading.
  12. I'd be happy with a draw today, but actually think we'll win. They've beaten Shrewsbury and Wigan at home and recently beat Pompey who filled the away end and a bit more apparently, so they're up for the big games. Safe trip to the Rovers hordes doing the 300+ mile round trip, you're a credit to the town and club. Peterborough 1 Rovers 3
  13. Just thought the young lass Grace from Bburn who came second on x-factor deserves a mention. Credit to the town, genuine girl and family, and put the town on the map for the right reasons. Well done Grace.
  14. Absolutely superb oldjamfan, pure theatre.
  15. Right from day one every commentator has criticised the England bowling attack for pitching the ball to short. If this is a tactic it's not working, if it's poor bowling then it's a disgrace from Broad and Anderson. The batting has been amateurish yes, but these 2 have been around for long enough to know what's required, just watch the Aussies!
  16. Good start, 20 runs on the board but Lion looking dangerous. Need 300 at a minimum, but 350 would be better, more coffee required.
  17. Sounds a bit 'rough' TS?
  18. We'd have no problem retievin the ball.
  19. Bullsh1t corner is the best place for dogs
  20. Its official, the worlds a worse place without REM, but what they've left us with is a treasure trove of fantastic music. The reason for this completely off the cuff statement is I've just dug out loads of my old music in various formats and REM's 'Reckoning' - 'Lifes rich pageant' - 'Murmur' haven't been off since i repatriated them. Plenty more stuff to go at, including a copy of Richard Harris MacArthur Park signed by members of Dollar! Must be worth a fortune! Exciting stuff eh
  21. I agree in principle with the last paragraph, but long after Leeds have bored everyone with talk about crowds, history and cups, little old Bournemouth will have bought and sold them 10 times over. Times are changing, and you're now a big club if you have money and playing in the top league ensues that, that's the modern day criteria in my book.
  22. Started well the Warriors
  23. No excuse for poor shots den Root did the right thing in my book declaring, but dropping 4 catches and some tremendous batting by the WI made for a fantastic test match and well deserved win for WI. Looking forward to the next one now, who needs football....
  24. Irrelevant Chaddy, this is the Ashes we're talking about in Australia, form goes out of the window. England just declared, well done Joe Root, shows confidence in our bowling attack after a poor showing in the 1st innings, Anderson aside. Just over 8,000 on today, that's a poor showing in my book despite the prices.
