Sadly the brfcs gene pool is only 5/6 people deep and one of them is Accys very own Andy Kaufman
-
Just the sort of player we need, fat, useless with a multiple personality disorder and a massive chip on his shoulders. Maybe he should sign up for brfcs

If we do actually go down to division 3 it'll make for an interesting couple of months once the dust has settled. I've long been of the opinion that a drop down to next tier will see Venkys looking for the nearest exit, I have nothing but a gut feeling to go off and maybe its more in hope than expectation, but can you imagine the start of a new season under new owners and renewed optimism? If we do go down its time for a renewed effort from everyone concerned, hammer the owners and everything they stand for at every opportunity. We need the big hitters like Jack Straw, MP's like Kate Hollern and G Jones shouting from the rooftops, Shearer, Sutton and anyone else that values this great club of ours to get that message out. With relegation comes outrage, we need to seize upon that.

I don't know if anyone has taken the time to look back at the origins of this thread, the early posts. Venkys could do far worse than put some of us lot on the board, we called it all years ago, could have saved them all the trouble and I bet posters would do it for £50k a year unlike Senior who's probably on 8-10 times that and I'd wager hasn't got the first idea how to get us out of this mess.

Absolutely fantastic roverstdt, the points return is better than anyone could have imagined and that's all that matters at this stage really.
-
Bit excessive don't you think? I was only asking why you sounded outraged at something thats been going on for 7yrs?
-
Where have you been for the last 7yrs? Venkys appoint individuals way beyond their abilities, give them the keys to the club and they run amok. You sound outraged? why?

Being a big fan of the Queensberry Rules I may have been a little over top with the fairground analogy donner. My experience of watching UFC is rather limited, but from what I've seen its very much hit and hope, with most fighters gasping for breath after 2 rounds if it goes that far. Not my thing at all, but agree that money talks and will probably ensure this fight does go ahead, sells out and makes both men even more obscenely richer than they currently are.
-
Well I mentioned 2 fights and that'll be what David Hayes remembered for, 2 loses, thats if anyone remembers him at all. I've watched most of career to be honest, remember a great scrap with the French lad Mamorek? saw him live against Ruiz and remember the Carl Thompson defeat well for the criuiserweight title. Over hyped and failed when it really mattered, but its all about opinions pal.

Where have you been for the last 2 months Tomphil? Hype hype and more hype with no end product for Bellew, exactly the same before the Klitschko fight where he never landed 1 meaningful punch, not 1 and I've not even started on his superb athletic ability which resulted in his supposed foot injury against Klitschko and Bellew. When push came to shove he failed, miserably, but we'll agree to disagree. Whats this nonsense about Mayweather fighting Conor McGregor? he said yesterday he's officially out of retirement for the fight? at boxing I presume not UFC? Absolute farce if it goes ahead, Mayweather is one of the best fighters of all time, McGregor belongs on the fairgrounds with the rest of UFC,

Big difference now Mike in that we can only call on a small amount of the gene pool, agents running the show, the books are cooked.
-
I know absolutely nothing about a local agent called Simon Conning. In my opinion most agents are leaches and parasites, but I do stress this is my opinion. So back to the main point, top class goal keeper in the summer you called for? With reduced budget and no transfer fee?
-
Not many of those knocking around on a free transfer and £5k a week wages JAL.
-
Tony Mowbray walked out of Coventry because he couldn't build a team with free transfers and loanees, the exact same model we operate here, so whilst he's started well, the future is very uncertain, so I'll reserve judgement on him being a proper manager for now, but you go for it. I could list lots of people brought into the club to improve communication, it never improved anything, it actually got worse and they ended up being sacked. I can list 1 possibly 2 young players that may come through, one hasn't been offered a new deal despite his contract expiring in months, so he could well walk in the summer, so we're down to 1 maybe. Aside from that your post makes perfect sense.
-
I know its not aimed at me, but its such a good question and in no way posted to antagonise anyone. I really enjoyed the summer after we got relegated from the Premiership, that has to be my favourite under Venkys Looking forward to Championship football, players leaving, all Jack Walkers good work thrown down the toilet and the piece de resistance was the 'Venkys confused' interview, it was great to hear our illustrious owners had everything under control. I could go on, pie and beer queue went down, parking was easier and the standard of football was more at my level, in fact at times I could have gotten a game, so that was my favourite summer under Vnkys. How about yours?

Good read as always OjW. Glad Haye got beat, never been a fan, all talk, hype and bluster for me. His performance against Klitch was embarrassing after all his chat beforehand, but he's made a fortune with limited ability and a big mouth, not the first and won't be the last. Looking forward to AJ's fight with Klitch, think AJ can be the real deal, just hope he doesn't rush things.

Ended up having a beer in Harvester Salt Cellar near Middlewich a few weeks back after the M6 went into meltdown. Just had a beer mind but the place was absolutely packed, doing a roaring trade, beer was good also, you know when you get the taste but have to drive

Mowbray seems a decent guy, he may even be principled, which is a rarity in football, but he will never be able to make a success of his time here because we have mad owners. We now have a coach running the club, a missing Venky stooge who apparently pulls the strings and a very poor squad, does anyone think under these circumstances he can make be s success here? I've not even mentioned the massive debt and more cost cutting to come. Its great to win a few games, it'll be even better if we avoid relegation, but let's not kid ourselves here, the clubs a basket case that will continue to decline unless the owners sod off. Tony Mowbrays nothing more than a side show and I doubt he'll see out his 18 month contract, so let's take heads out of the sand, enjoy the wins by all means, because turmoil and heartache is always just around the corner under these rats.
