  1. Another thread destroyed with petty bullsh1t, EIT and the topic in general deserve better.
  2. I thought he was born here and lived with his grandparents as a child, maybe not! Alfred Wainwright Russell Harty Will Greenwood
  3. I had no idea, great find EIT. I'd say Matt Smith is possibly the most famous lad to come from Blackburn/Darwen simply because of the world wide showing of Dr Who, the shows massive in the states and puts his profile probably higher than anyone else, rivaled possibly by Ian Mcshane who starred in Dallas in the mid 80's and has gone on to have a very good career. Sadly every time I've heard Ian interviewed he claims to be from Manchester, well Ian you went to Bangor Street school thats not in Manchester!
  4. Gentle on my mind - Glen Campbell
  5. Virat Kohli I salute you, what an innings to beat the Australians, one of the best knocks I've seen at 20:20 level, superb.
  6. Chris Eubank is an absolute legend of the sport, whilst I agree he does seem to be a little to involved, I'd rather have him than not. He was calling it right all night last night, "hit him to the body, you'll not knock him out to the head" but junior wouldn't listen. As for the upper cuts, he clearly lacks power because his delivery of the shot is pinpoint accurate, so he needs to work on his power as he seems to have the other tools in abundance. Blackwell placed into an induced coma, lets hope he makes a full recovery.
  7. Just watched the Eubank Jnr V Blackwell fight, it seems obvious to me that Eubank lacks power, he hit Blackwell with everything he had, and whilst he's never been put down and is obviously a tough lad, if Eubank had any power he'd have put him away tonight. He won on a stoppage, outclassing Blackwell for most of the fight but just lacks something, I think its power. Was poor to see Billy Joe Saunders waving the belt in Eubank seniors face before the fight, complete lack of class, but no surprise with that idiot Fury egging him on, not needed. Just seen that Blackwell has been taken out of the ring on a streture, we all hope he's ok. Master of ceremonies was Paul Booth from Blackburn also.
  8. Absolutely, really winds me up when people harp on about sides not being deserving because the gates don't stack up to the big city boys.
  9. I'll never forget the goal at home to Derby in the playoffs where he cut in from the Riverside and bang Absolute screamer.
  10. We went about 5yrs ago, great little festival getting bigger each year. Heard reports in recent years of loads of kids on Ketamine which was spoiling things a bit, but I think the organizers have gotten a handle on that so I'm sure you'll have a great time, lineup is cracking also.
  11. Proud Mary - Same old Blue
  12. Just seen a lad with an old Yellow Mcewans lager top on, debs swears she saw you with him Ste? We need to get on the one of these trips, we always say we'll go but never end up there, got the Ashes penciled in so we'll see. Enjoy the trip, then again how could you not enjoy it!
  13. I wish I was at Newlands in Cape Town right now, looks fantastic and the cricket isn't bad either.
  14. No it was Rawtenstall I think, English modern food and like you were sat in someones front room, then the owner sat at the table with you and made you feel more like you were sat in his front room! Strange experience, never went back, food was good though.
  15. Saw him at Manhattan heights, great tune, great era, Blackburn leading the way in dance culture.
  16. 'You win some you lose some it's all the same to me' RIP Lemmy, an absolute legend.
  17. I think I went, was the owner a bit mad? Did he come and sit with you whilst you ate? Food was always good but the whole experience was very surreal, maybe I'm thinking of somewhere else? Been back in Lancs a few times in recent weeks and had a curry on both occasions as the West Midlands has very few neighborhood Indians that hit the spot. Went to Anaz and Akash and both very disappointing, maybe its the time of year, just to busy, but both were really really poor and the service was especially bad. Think I'll stick to the re-vamped Naga at Abbey Village, spent loads on the restaurant, never fails to hit the mark.
  18. Jona Lewie - Stop the cavalry
  19. I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus - The Ronettes
  20. Rocking around the Christmas tree - Kim Wilde and Mel Smith
  21. O'Sullivan sent off for serious foul play.
  22. The Byrds - Turn Turn Turn
  23. We went to Royal Oak at Riley Green on Sunday night, absolutely fantastic, better than the Clogg in its pomp for me. Great value, plenty of specials and good ale, what more could you ask for: Yes no sign of Preston Blue either, absolute heaven 😂
  24. The last shadow puppets - Calm like you
  25. Just got back from another cracking Courteeners gig, opening night at The Apollo and they didn't disappoint. Just one gripe and its not Courteeners related really, why do venues think it's acceptable to sell warm cheap canned larger at extortionate prices? Yes it sells, yes the mark ups fantastic for the seller but the customer experience is poor, really poor, why not sell decent beer at fair prices?
