    Howard Kendall

Sad sad news, a true Rovers great. RIP
  2. Its been the service I've found poor in the past Paul, the food is usually good if it comes as advertised, which sometimes it doesn't. I think the Clogs had its day, Nigel has far to many places now so his eyes off the ball, and not enough good staff, it happens so many times, Paul Heathcote suffered the same fate when he opened the Olive Press around the region, opened with a bang and mainly disappeared with a whimper. You know what, watching Great British menu and programs of that ilk confirms that Michelin Star or not, the vast majority of quality chefs are extremely inconsistent and in some cases inept! How many times do they blame the kitchen when things go wrong, drop food, over cook etc etc, and they're charging £100 upwards for lunch in restaurants where they work!
  3. Only thing missing when we went was Mozza, a Smiths reunion will never happen but we live in hope.
  4. Saw Marr in Preston a few years back in front of about 200 people, great gig, the mans a legend.
  5. Text message arrives at 3am: "Are you a pirate"? check out BRFCS Not me chaps, but what is slightly disturbing,I was in Barrow last week 😂 So back to hating dogs, Tories and Allardyce (yes yes yes I would have him back tomorrow).
  6. Sorry my point didn't 'stretch' you, I'll try harder next time. You're championing Tyson Furry a few pages back? And you appreciate the sport at all levels? Not heavyweight obviously....
  7. I think you've missed the point. That point being we have nobody that can capture the public's imagination enough to follow said boxer to far flung places in massive numbers like Froch and Hatton. Being popular isn't the be all and end all I know, we have some decent fighters, Brook gets the blood flowing but I'd not go out of my way to watch him.
  8. As I said earlier Froch was the closest thing to Hatton in terms of generating public interest. If he'd fought Chevez in Vegas I'd have gone, along with 5/10,000 others I'd imagine. You wonder where the next fighter of that ilk will come from, Joshua maybe? Doesn't have the public appeal granted, but heavyweight boxing in Vegas is certainly appealing.
  9. It was my local until a few months back and is Preston Blues still. I love the cheese and onion pie, but alll the food is great.
  10. Sam and Dave - Soul Man
  11. Salt n pepper chips are fantastic, you've just opened up another dimension Yoda!
  12. This is the best possible scenario for the football club as it stands, we'd buy season tickets tomorrow if this happened as I'm sure would many. What really baffles me is the constant line that Venkys are going to 'make things right' because they got sold a 'pup', if you believe that you'll also believe they're buying Phil Nevilles house in Bromley Cross and paying for the flights of fans that made their own way over for the game in Pune, and buying everyone a pie a Wolves Look its quite simple, if I was a billionaire looking to save face and get a few quid back: 1) I'd move Bowyer in to the backroom and bring a manager in on a contact with incentives to get us promoted, even Allardyce, whatevers best for the football club 2) I'd sack Shaw and make Tom Finn and John Williams offers they couldn't refuse, if that failed I'd go after the best possible options on the market. 3) I'd give all current season ticket holders free season tickets next season and let the Blackburn public into Ewood for the rest of this season for free, lets all pull together. 4) I'd sell Rhodes to get us out of embargo, loan structured deal to Boro maybe and splash the cash in January if exiting from embargo is possible. If not possible this season then we'll do it next. 5) Marketing campaign to get the feel good factor back, tell the fans I mean business, lets pull together. Venkys could do this very very easily, they'd have sky money coming through the door in less than 3yrs, guaranteed, but they won't, why won't they?
  13. You know what, it wouldn't actually be so bad if the manager acknowledged the fact that the defense is a problem and has been since he took the job. As fans we can forgive most things, and regularly do, but not even acknowledging the fact makes it worse somehow.
  14. What an idiot! Doubt he factored the Cairney transfer into that equation but still, stupid comment.
  15. Did he say that LD? I'm sure he said it at the start of last season, but i never found the quote, didn't hear him say it this?
  16. Can we not factor in the loss of Cairney and Gestede, 2 players that would walk into most sides in this division? How many sides with no money could hope to improve on last season having lost 2 of the best players in the division? *****Disclaimer - before the people that only read one page of the site ask, yes I'd sack Bowyer now if I had the power*****
  17. I'd replace the manager now if at all possible, even though I know full well it won't make the slightest bit of difference, but the rest of your post is absolutely spot on. The side is probably mid table with Rhodes involved, without him we're mid/bottom and thats because of the owners getting rid of everyone that knows anything about football and replacing them with cheap, poor replacements, same on the playing side. This cycle will sadly continue until they leave the club.
  18. Good start by the Aussies, doubt we'll see Morgan again today so 27-4
  19. Big Country - Look away
  20. Bob Dylan - Girl from the North Country
  21. Groves just doesn't set the pulse racing like Froch did, can't even be bothered staying up for any of tonight's fights and I'm a massive boxing fan. Thought we'd never see anyone take Ricky Hattons mantle, but Froch stepped up, but I have no idea where the next peoples champion is coming from.
  22. My bloody valentine - Don't cramp my style
  23. Kris Kristofferson - Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down
  24. Good chase that by England, Aussies look tired, poor again in the field. 3rd highest run chase by an England team ever. Sets up Sunday nicely, sadly can't make it so TV it is.
  25. Sunday Morning - Velvet Underground
