  1. You come across as a bit of a smart arse if you don't mind me saying so. I love boxing and have never professed to be anything other than a keen amature observer, so why on earth you see the need to trawl through posts from the past is anyone's guess, shows a lack of class really. Fury stunned the boxing world, every pro commentator I heard called it Klitchko, but you had Fury, good effort from both of you....
  2. Absolutely stunned...... My Mrs would have battered him, but all credit to him, absolute respect to the guy.
  3. Why is Roy Jones Jnr fighting at all, let alone fighting Enzo Macraglasschinelli?
  4. Plenty on sale outside if you're desperate to see them.
  5. Mate of mine went to the Liverpool gig on Saturday and said its the best gig he's been to in years.
  6. Haye was embarrassing against Klitchko, hype hype and more hype, money money and more money being his motivation, a fraud in my opinion. Bit harsh maybe but I felt so let down by him after all the talk before the Klitchko fight. Give me Carl Froch any day of the week.
  7. I know plenty doing Preston on Saturday then off to Liverpool for New Order in the evening, cracking day out that. Pity I'm not going to either 😢
  8. I thought the international last weekend against NZ was the most boring rugby league game I've ever seen, think the crowd thought the same. Let's hope this weekends is a bit more lively, I'm sure the crowd will be.
  9. Fury is just a joke, no good for the sport in my opinion. Yes he's got to sell the fight but the guys a clown, shouldn't be in the same city as Klitchko never mind the same ring. Shows just how poor the division is. Let's hope Joshua takes his time and doesn't get careless or greedy, he's got great potential and could go all the way.
  10. Froch talking about coming back to fight DeGale, if DeGale manages to beat Bute which certainly isn't a given. Must admit to being a big Froch fan, took a bit of time to get me onside, but he's a throwback, a crowd pleaser and if he's still got that desire then people will pay to watch him.
  11. Stone Rose - 2 nights at Man City next summer. Hope they release a new album, or its just another money maker.
  12. House of Love - Robert Plant

Must say I don't recall the Villa game, but vividly remember the Coventry one and the terrible brown kit blueboy mentions above I don't think Coventry turned up that day, we never looked in trouble all afternoon and breezed into the next round.

I was in the Riverside when Atkins put through his home net against Liverpool late 80's, so we share similar heartache pal

Took thousands to Villa, we took similar numbers in the late 80's when Kennedy scored early doors, and yes 30k on Ewood for the first game, was it Allan Evans that equalized? Seem to recall we played Forest under Saxton, took them to replay also I think. Still great times under Howard, a true Rovers legend.

The FA Cup run beating Coventry and then taking the future European Champs Villa to a reply, yes great days indeed.

Sad sad news, a true Rovers great. RIP
  19. Its been the service I've found poor in the past Paul, the food is usually good if it comes as advertised, which sometimes it doesn't. I think the Clogs had its day, Nigel has far to many places now so his eyes off the ball, and not enough good staff, it happens so many times, Paul Heathcote suffered the same fate when he opened the Olive Press around the region, opened with a bang and mainly disappeared with a whimper. You know what, watching Great British menu and programs of that ilk confirms that Michelin Star or not, the vast majority of quality chefs are extremely inconsistent and in some cases inept! How many times do they blame the kitchen when things go wrong, drop food, over cook etc etc, and they're charging £100 upwards for lunch in restaurants where they work!
  20. Only thing missing when we went was Mozza, a Smiths reunion will never happen but we live in hope.
  21. Saw Marr in Preston a few years back in front of about 200 people, great gig, the mans a legend.
  22. Text message arrives at 3am: "Are you a pirate"? check out BRFCS Not me chaps, but what is slightly disturbing,I was in Barrow last week 😂 So back to hating dogs, Tories and Allardyce (yes yes yes I would have him back tomorrow).
  23. Sorry my point didn't 'stretch' you, I'll try harder next time. You're championing Tyson Furry a few pages back? And you appreciate the sport at all levels? Not heavyweight obviously....
  24. I think you've missed the point. That point being we have nobody that can capture the public's imagination enough to follow said boxer to far flung places in massive numbers like Froch and Hatton. Being popular isn't the be all and end all I know, we have some decent fighters, Brook gets the blood flowing but I'd not go out of my way to watch him.
  25. As I said earlier Froch was the closest thing to Hatton in terms of generating public interest. If he'd fought Chevez in Vegas I'd have gone, along with 5/10,000 others I'd imagine. You wonder where the next fighter of that ilk will come from, Joshua maybe? Doesn't have the public appeal granted, but heavyweight boxing in Vegas is certainly appealing.
