What a great find and what a strange bit of footage, those at the back of the goal couldn't have timed things any better!
-
Thats still not very good really, seems to point towards the issue being far more than some certificates locked in a cupboard. I'll think twice before I go again.
-
Well I'm really surprised at that, I wonder if they'll now do the usual trick and change the name of the place to beat the adverse publicity. 0/5 - Shocked!

Not been out much of late due to being unwell, but went to the Naga again on Friday at Abbey Village and the food is absolutely spot on. I would recommend the place for sure, its certainly a cut above the Darwen offerings we used to frequent. They do a decent selection of fish dishes which keeps the wife happy, and a good variety of chef specials to wet the appetite, all round good fair.

Yes give it another try Vintage, good pub grub and the ales not bad eaither. As for the Shoulder of mutton, Debs has been harping on about that place for a while, think we'll make the trip over and give it a try.
-
I'm surprised at that vintage, when was that? I've eaten at The Nabshead several times in the past 3 months and its good old fashioned pub food, with some decent specials added for good measure. The food is all home cooked, doesn't come on the back of a wagon and is very reasonably priced. The only gripe anyone I've been with has had, was on one occasion the steak was a little fatty, but thats clutching at straws.

We decided to give it a miss, not sure why really as the gig in the summer was the best I've ever been too! Already regretting the decision....
-
Agreed Paul, we'll be going to one of them, the city of Manchester stadium gig in the summer was the best gig I've ever been to. Thinking of Belfast, its a weekend and never been to the city, I expect it to be a bit like burnley was on Sunday

Talented lad, cross between Dylan and Merseybeat. Off to see Couteeners on Friday in Manchester and PULP on Saturday in Sheffield, looking forward to it.

Has anyone been to Shad House Indian restaurant on Wensley Rd? Its a traditional Indian restaurant that doesn't serve alcohol which often puts people off, but the menu looks great.

Never had a takeaway, but the sit down meal is fantastic IMO. Topical for us at the moment pal, and I've only been once about 18 months back, but wasn't impressed at all, over priced, place was empty and at the time the Clogg was much better food and value.

He lived life on the edge, but didn't deserve this, sad news Abs

I think it was the nature of the defeat, he was knocked out badly by Pacquiao and if we're honest he had nowhere to go at stage of his career really even though he was relatively young. Its a different time now, some decent fights our there for him with another crack at Mayweather or Pacman if things go according to plan. I wish him well, despite the coke issues, and must admit to looking forward to the fight tonight, its good to have him back. I can't get up for most fights these days, Froch is the next best thing, so hope Ricky puts on a decent show, I'm sure he will.

I went just after it changed hands last time, possibly the worst curry I've ever had in my life, I was ill for days after and so was my brother who had the misfortune of buying at the same time. That doesn't mean is poor now, but we'll not be going back.
-
Yes spot on T4E. I think he was caught after the Pac fight, but I'm not buying he wasn't at it before when 'off duty'
-
He was indeed, great warrior, never saw him in a dull fight that I can recall. Got a few mates going to the Hatton fight, £210 for a floor seat! I've still not got over his coke admission myself, thousands of fans, us included, followed him to Vegas and spent thousands of pounds, and all that time he was snorting the Columbian marching powder between fights, felt a bit let down to be honest. That said, if he makes it to Vegas again I'll be going
-
I second that, well worth a visit.

We tend to order from Trishna on Bolton Rd near the car wash. It tends to be consistently good although during busy times like Saturday night the food can arrive lukewarm. Also they give you points cards depending on how much you spend, collect enough for a free starter or main course.
-
I was away so didn't see it, but they often throw up some decent bouts Abs. Some interesting fights coming up, Hatton more for nostalgia than anything else, followed him to Vegas a couple of times for the Mayweather and Malignaggi fights, felt a bit let down when it was revealed he liked the marching powder, but hey ho. Carl Froch always gives value for money, he fights tomorrow and Flintoff is also stepping into the ring also Munroe v Scott Quigg should be a good domestic fight too.

I think its time to redress the balance. I’ve been scathing of the Oyster and Otter in the past and with good reason, but we decided to give them another go, if it’s good enough for Gordon, its good enough for us! And the whole experience had improved significantly. I must admit they almost blew it right off the bat though, we’ve been turned away twice before with scores of available tables, and the same looked on the cards last night, but they squeezed us in just before a table of 10 were due to arrive. This clearly isn’t due to the capacity of the restaurant, it’s more to do with the number of staff they’ve got on that night, 3 in total at front of house last night, but anyway we got a table. We ordered the Fish sampler for 2 which was delicious, to follow I had the fish curry and Debs has the smoked Haddock, served on bubble and squeak, both very good indeed and better than on previous visits. So all in all a much better experience than we’ve had before, interestingly enough the table next to us were overheard talking to the waiter and they’d had similar experiences to us with the chap that used to run front of house, he’s no longer there, and things seem to be running much better. We’ll be back for sure.

Saw you in the fields, briefly! Great festival, made even better by the 20ft high Rovers flag flying high above our tent with Georges cross and KEAN OUT painted on it, which gained much support from passers by. See you in the fields next year, minus the Kean out banner I hope......

Work colleague went last week and was singing its praises, especially the prosecco jelly and ice cream pudding! But to be fair Gordon she is a size 8 and full after a couple of lettuce leaves!
