Talks took place over the ground share and Burnley didn't go with the idea, probably because Colne would then have been a conference club and Burnley a 4th division club. At that time there wasnt a huge difference In the gates either. When Burnley didn't agree to the ground share Colne couldn't go up to the conference due to an inadequate ground.

Damien Duff Hangs Up His Boots

One of those players that was quicker with the ball than without it. Pleasure to watch. -
Lewis Mansell is a good 18months at best from being ready for the first team, some potential there without doubt, but a long way off. I imagine young players having training sessions with the senior players is common practice.

Yeah absolute classic that one, you broke the roof and threw it down onto your own fans, then became invisible after the game? That would be the same season you went down and didn't resurface for 17 years ??

Always amazes me how lads like Gary Stopforth can go from captaining the reserves, which says to me not to far away from being considered for first team.. to playing non-league football within a week. Also i still play football with Kevin Hird on a regular basis, and I think we should resign him to play in the middle V Bolton on Sunday... ( Yeah he told me to say that). He says he will have a look on here as well in the not to distant future. -

Gary Stopforth who captained the Reserves a number of times is now at Clitheroe, along with Joel Byrom if this hasn't already been mentioned. -

[Archived] Anyone Miss The Old Ewood ?
No Nay Never replied to No Nay Never's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Felt like a proper football ground, that feeling has definantly gone now. -
At half time on Saturday i found myself looking round ewood and picturing the old "ground" was nearly in tears, obviously being a young un i cannot picture it pre - walkersteel stand, although i did go. Does anyone know if the pitch was moved at all during the reconstruction because i always thought it was closer to the Nuttall St than it is to the JW stand. To be honest some of my best rovers memories are of the old ground, being stood on the Blackburn End when garner smashed that into the net in the cup v Liverpool being one of them!

[Archived] Serious Question
No Nay Never replied to LDRover's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
I think the first 5 mins of the second half on Saturday sums up why i go. I was never intending to go on Wednesday V Nancy, but a mate rang me from the ticket office this morning asking if i fancied it, just can't say no!! -

Whilst the EFFORT in the second half was commendable, the truth of the matter is at 2-0 down when henchoz was sent off it was game over, like has been said it reminds me to much of the 98/99 season. The players seem to have believed the hype surrounding there tremendous season last year, and the fact is, we are not a top ten team far from it. What we have is 2 extremely lazy strikers who don't seem to understand the offside rule. Unsure myself whether henchozs tackle merited a red card, but can see why gallagher produced it in the spur of th moment, the truthis though had Henchoz remained on the pitch we would have lost 3/4-0 so it did us a favour really. -

Personally think we would struggle to shift a 2,500 allocation, but 1500-2000 would be a cracking following anyway, i'm looking forward to it. -

Just booked on the Birmingham - Amsterdam flights on Weds returning Friday a.m. ... for a very special £36.74 -
Well it's simple to me, we probably have a loyal hardcore fanbase of somewhere between 8k and 10k, who will be there whatever the weather, price, tv or anything, other people just simply aren't as interested and maybe can afford it, but just have better things to spend there money on. People need to remember we aren't a big club far from it.

Michael Holt - Just signed for Barnoldswick Town who play in West Lancs league, was at Nelson last season and didn't stand out as someone who had played quite a bit of league football. -
[Archived] Spurs 3 - 2 Rovers

Whilst Sunday certainly isn't a must win game for Rovers, It is definantly a must not lose if we are going to challenge for this 4th place, I think anyone on here would settle for 7 points out of the next 9, and that would surely see us sitting in 4th place after the Boro game. -
As most on here know, I've been no angel when it comes to football matches, but it is going to far when it is spoiling other peoples enjoyment of the game. or even worse when the trouble is going on infront of Women and children, personally i find the fact that people sing songs like 2pounds an hour to stewards embarrasing, although i do agree that something has to be done about our away support to stop us becoming even more of a laughing stock..
