  1. good engine though
  2. If JW and Souey are using Lee as a translator it's no wonder the deal is taking a long time.
  3. I'm not sure we can sign a fly by night who winks at just anyone. I've been on there twice and got a wink both times. Loyalty ......pah!!
  4. den, I hope you're not suggesting our Bazza has taken time off to finish the decorating?
  5. Tromso have rejected Rovers latest bid for Pedersen. The value Rovers placed on the player this time round has not been announced. This is getting tricky, clearly the player is available and it's going to be a question of the highest bidder winning. Time to gamble? Hard to say when few of us, if any, have seen him play.
  6. This story was buried deep in the Sunday Mirror sports pages - basically saying Souness wasa leading the chase and had been in serious discussions with TIL for the last few days. BTW I was buying a curry and the paper was there
The rest of article mentions Blackburn seven times!
  8. Good to have that one cleared up
  9. Three excellent posts to wake up to and start the day off with a balanced view. After a good night's rest I realise I no longer support Souness, stay or go, he doesn't raise any emotion in me. In the past I've tried "rallying" get behind the team style posts, frighteningly I don't see any point. Throughout last season it was very hard to support the side, be excited by their play, and we have started on the same road this time. If the manager can't select a decent team and those who are selected don't show any real enthusiasm for the game how on earth are the fans supposed to react? Pre-season gave us excitment and hope - the MB was posting team news, goals as they happened from a bunch of German friendlies and people were actually logging in to follow these meaningless games live!!!!! - so we, the fans, are/were "up for it".The summer had actually cleaned the wounds from last season, just as they healed over Souness opened them all again. WBA and Saints should have been 4 points and a good positive start but the team have provided us with two miserable, uninspired performances which re-inforce the doom and gloom of last year. That arguement has been in place for almost a year. Souness has had the time to manage the problems and resolve our position. He's failed, in fact he's become even more eccentric in his team selection. I won't be joining any "Souness out" chants, I can't raise the emotion. I'm no longer angry as I have no expectation of this team and manager; they're not actually bad, they're just nothing, non-descript, uninspired, there is no spark of any sort. The pre-match hope of winning has died and I will turn up out of a sense of duty. I'm thoroughly disillusioned, hopefully the board will act in some way. We've no money to buy players, there is only one choice. I was going to buy myself a shirt for the first time in ten years, there's £25 the club have lost. Another reason for getting the shirts out pre-season, sell them when there's room for optimism.
  10. That's the man, watched Rovers for 54 years, he was being very reasonable. When people like this starting calling Radio Lancs it's serious.
  11. No more for me Scotty. This can't wait till Christmas, Souness should go while we still have a season ahead of us. The team and the club are going nowhere under his direction. If I were not an ST holder I doubt very much if I'd be going again till he leaves. Anyone know about him calling the fans "smart arses" at lunchtime? A lot of very unhappy callers on Radio Lancs tonight. As one of them so succinctly put it "Souness can dish out the criticism but he can't take it." Who would I bring in? If he'll come, Mark Hughes.
  12. ....and Everton are now 2-1 up at Palace. It can get worse.
  13. Don't look now but we are 17th at the moment - still Utd are 18th Could well be bottom three tonight if results go against us. I agree with all tchocky has said, and his view on the game Positives today - Dickov seems a bargain and we now know Fergusson realises there is life beyond the half-way line. I'm seriously questioning why I bought an ST. More pure crap from a Souness team. Someone said we were fanatstic in the second half, I'm dreading a poor display.
  14. Johansson, Tugay and Flitcroft start otherwise same as last week. De Pedro and Gresko on the bench and Amo is isnjured. Not sure if this means Emerton is still playing right back as yesterday Souey stated Neill would be starting.
  15. Graeme Souness has announced an unchanged squad for the Southampton match. Lucas Neil is expected to start now he has recovered from injury. David Thompson is still out.
  16. Without wishing to get at phil, when are people going to recognise that England are an under-motivated, second-rate football team with no chance of winning a major international tournament? The Euro 2004 displays were terrible - much as I dislike SVE he can't be totally to blame for this. The squad have to look at themselves. Sure individually we have some good players who perform well for their clubs but put them in an England skirt and they are shown for what they are - good PL players nothing more or less. The talents they display every Saturday are largely supported by non-English players, until we have the talent in every department to support our very few truely international class footballers England will win nothing.
  17. My excuse is I've been away and only kust found this thread: Champions: Arsenal Rovers: 15 or 16 Everton: Relegated The rest: Don't care
  18. Just been away for three weeks and feel I've picked up another perspective in the last 48 hours - at least one you can't experience living in Blackburn or if you have web access. Despite visiting the local paper shop every day to scan the sports pages I picked up no Rovers news in three weeks. On Friday got the official text saying Yorke would lead the line - depressing news. Hit Liverpool airport at 1.43pm yesterday and got a text to say Neil was out and a weird looking team had been announced. Into Blackburn straight from the airport for 2.55pm and the first headline I see is "Souness - Survival is the Key." As we approached the ground I saw FIVE shirts walking AWAY from Ewood. In the ground by 3.03pm to see three left footers, a midfield full of defenders, Emerton at right back and Dwight Yorke on the pitch. Just where was the creativity going to come from? I’m making these points as for the last three weeks I have almost been a “floating “ fan. Cut off from my usual sources the only info I had was the above. So I ask the question if a casual fan had arrived home from holiday to this scenario would he clean the beach out the car or nip down to Ewood? Without wishing to be one of tashor’s “spoiled brats” I was disappointed yesterday. Survival is NOT the key. On the team, well it’s what we can afford but the KO selection was daft. I’m left with more questions than answers and the manager has still to address these. How much longer do we have to tolerate this “Survival is the Key” rubbish Why is Dwight Yorke at the club and Andy Cole at Fulham – plain bloody daft in my opinion Three left footers in midfield – Soumess is having a laugh? WBA fans “Premier League? - you’re having a laugh” What is Emerton doing on the pitch (first game and I’ve broken my promise not criticize him) Why are we wearing blue shorts? Souness saw the error of his selection after 30 minutes ( a big plus there) as Toogs warmed up. The changes at half time made the team LOOK better but I’m struggling to recall ANY chance we created other than the goal. Hoult didn’t have a save to make. Tugay, Yorke, Short, Gray, Fergusson played well. The defence and Friedel at fault for the goal. Emerton, out of position, but pushed up second half, fluffed a great chance and still cannot attack the full back or cross. Matteo committed a worrying number of clumsy fouls. De Pedro – don’t know. Dickov – any player who runs around a lot will look good. Stead was below par. Yesterday we couldn’t beat a first division team with the all the attacking ambitions of a giant sloth. Hopefully Souness will learn from this and put out the following next time: Friedel Neil Short Amoruso Gresko Gray Fergusson Tugay Yorke Gallagher Stead
  19. Looks as though a long hard season awaits us...........again. Souness "Survival is the key" Yorke first choice, Cole gone. Enjoy you hols Paul? Yep till 3.03pm
  20. He's doing it at the moment
  21. You didn't see the abuse we received
  22. lofty2k2 has been banned. The member who recently registered as Lofty is NOT connected with him, it's just a coincidence.
  23. ....and if I don't use it and we're on a losing streak can I expect Souey or JW on the blower to point out I've been using the wrong turnstile?
