We should have the score around 6.00pm -
I wish, oh I wish that could happen

I always thought that by using PAYPAL -a percentage of the payment was taken out Can somebody confirm - as if this is the case then surely its better for a S/O to be set up - unless charges are made to the bank account for incoming payments. It will always be best to pay money direct to the site. PayPal does take a percentage. On £10 it appears to be around 50p but some many people are looking for the facility to use PayPal that I had to set it up. Thanks to everyone - I quite like these e-mails that say "You have received money"

......and Dickov scored how many as Leicester went down?
-
Put me in there as well. We NEED Andy Cole to teach the youngsters how to become a top striker, something Dickov can't provide. I was just getting round to feeling positive and now this. Souness better get this season off to a decent start or his position with me will be untenable. You've got half a dozen games Souey to prove you've learnt something out of last season's debacle. After that don't count on this fan's support. Very, very angry and disappointed. Has the man learnt nothing? Can he not see Cole is our best striker and Dickov should start on the bench?

The site now has a PayPal account . No excuses now lads Apparently all the info you need is the e-mail address: admin@brfcs.com The account may show up with my name on it, we will get this changed later and add a site button at some point.
-
No I haven't done that but the account seems to be dead. Right now I'm having a cup of tea and browsing around trying to find out how to set up a PayPal account............................I wish people wopuld stop saying how simple it is

Oh FFS! The MB is not in financial trouble but we will need financial help to maintain the status quo. We, admin in particular, and the mods have to make some decisions about the site hosting and the site funding. On finance there are alternatives, no decisions have been made. The preferred choice will always be "free to air" but nothing in life is truely free. 1. Member donations - the prefered option. There is NO pressure in that statement. Donations includes everyone who has already kindly sent money, bought a badge, book, Amazon etc. Each of these things EQUALLY supports the MB. 2. Introduce some form of membership levels 3. Sponsorship - we have been discussing this for a while 4. Overt advertising - the least desireable option. On hosting there are alternatives, to name a few: 1. Cut down the site facilities 2. Re-design and trim pages 3. Put up with the slow speed we have at the moment 4. Buy our own server 5. Get a really big host and bags of capacity Ste is busy downloading the entire site to ensure we lose nothing if the worst happens. Glenn is away and when Ste goes on hols I am not technically capable of handling these problems. We have money to keep going for some months. I expanded this thread to ask for donations because IF we are to get a bigger and better host it will cost a lot more money than I can raise selling books and badges. IF enough members want to or are able to support the site financially that will be great but admin need to know the level of support we can rely on - if we don't know this the problem will just keep recurring. We can't commit to £120+ a month without knowing where we stand. Till Monday everything was hunky dory, at the moment it's a bit grim, in a while it will get back to normal - somehow. There's no need to bicker, suggestions and opinions are welcome from all. Just keep it at that suggestions. Thanks

Like Tris says if you have on-line or internet banking it takes about two minutes to set up a Standing order or make a transfer/payment direct to the account. Anyone who does decide to set up a Standing Order please e-mail details to admin@brfcs.com or send me a PM. I can watch out for things at our end then.

I suggest you speak to dave birch. He organised sending over the cash for the badges on one cheque and it worked beautifully at this end. If you want to have a whip round in Aussie perhaps Dave or someone else can collect the money and then make a single payment to the site.

Glenn raised the idea of buying our own server at the last MB meet up in Blues. As I understand it the major problem is the management of the site rather than running the server. Glenn gave me to understand there are potentailly hours of more work, basically for him or Ste, to keep the server updated all the time. My understanding is the fees we pay are for this management.

We do have a plan that covers this but we are desperatley trying to avoid ANYTHING that could be divisive, elitist etc. Fundamentally we want the site to be "free to air" but it is becoming very difficult. The site is simply too popular for its own good, at the same time sponsorship is difficult because the potential market is very limited. Manchester Blue Until this week it wasn't a big issue. The money was ticking along quite nicely. Suddenly, for the third time now, our hosts (different one each time), has looked at the traffic and is putting on pressure for more cash. The very minimum costs will be: Hosting Fees 12 x £120 = £1440 PO Box number = £60 Domain stuff = £100 estimate Suddenly we need £1600, minimum per year.....that's an awful lot of badges

Nice post Tris. We are very, very grateful to those who have donated to the site and to those who support us with a monthly direct debit, no criticism is intended of anyone - wether you donate or not. There is NO obligation to pay for this site. The brutal facts behind the finance are: 4 members support us with a monthly direct debit and have done for two years Two years ago 98 people pledged to support the site with a donantion, ONLY 27 ever paid up. Those who donated raised £492 for the site. The sale of books, badges, Amazon link etc. When buying books or badges many people paid well over the asking price. A polo shirt is on the way. The problem is time spent raising money is out of all proportion to the amount raised. Add these scraps together and we have enough to run the site for about a year IN ITS CURRENT FORM - not at £120 a month. Our target has always been to have enough in the bank to fund 12 months. The theory being 12 months should be long enough to solve problems. Regular payments are much better than one-offs - we need to know our income. A Standing Order for a few pounds each month is fantastic. If you want to help the site don't spend all day posting about it, take two minutes to make a payment to: BRFC Supporters - (cheques payable to this name) PO Box 381 CHORLEY Lancashire PR6 8ZW Direct Debits, Standing Orders and Bank Transfers can go to: Account Name: BRFC Supporters Account No: 67367260 Sort Code: 05-01-31 Bank: The Yorkshire Bank (sorry guys )

thenodrog Quite agree about the world wide attrocities bit, sorry if my post sounded a bit abrasive, it wan't meant to. Your point about WW2 and German cars etc. is very valid. Time my heal but it doesn't always allow forgivenes. For those of us alive now buying a German car is no problem and I understand the point. My father-in-law happens to be Ukranian and was taken by the Nazis, aged 15, to Germany. Later the Russians moved his entire village hundreds of miles and relocated others all over the Ukraine. When my eldest son went on an exchange to Germany and we had a German student in our house my father-in-law was horrified. He will not tolerate Germans or Russians - probably illogical to all of us. The point being, yes, time has healed but it does not necessarily allow one to forget or forgive. It takes a great deal to forgive, so I can understand, a little, the Liverpool view.

theno - Of course there were equally great or greater miscarriages of justice - which is your phrase, and I'm not sure it's the right one but we know what we are talking about - during the second world war. Millions of Poles, Ukranians, Jews, Russians and other nationalities stand as testament to those who suffered outrageous attrocities. We do NOT forget those people, we remember the dead of two world wars every year. The perpetrators of those outrages were brought to justice whenever possible. The people of Liverpool simply want justice for those who died at Hillsborough. There's a man who lives in the the south of England whose daughter was murdered in Africa some years ago - Kenya I think. I can't remember his or her name. Since the day she died that man has fought for justice, to see those who murdered his daughter brought to justice. The Kenyan authorities and, I understand, the British authorities were prepared to let things be shoved under the carpet. Do we criticise him? No. I've no doubt the Sun and all the trash red tops had banner headlines praising his efforts. Perhaps he should be told it's time to forget, dead daughter, oh come on worse things happened in world War 2. I hope Liverpool fans keep the candles burning for the Hillsborough dead and I hope they keep reminding us of the tragedy. As for the Sun and Murdoch - they publish nothing but sensational garbage. Wayne Rooney should have known better. He may be a kid, but he's born and bred Liverpudlian and I doubt there's any 18 year old on Merseyside that doesn't understand Hillsborough and the Sun. But for £250,000 he's prepared to tell the world how deeply he loves his girlfriend and his dog - vomit inducing. These are newspapers that find it necessary to publish photographs of women's gussets to increase circulation. We are epxected to take them seriously or believe any apology - words are cheap.

That's a good idea, I'll try to put it in place. Now then boys. calm down a bit. I've already said I think a welcome PM is a good idea - in fact I've strated to write one. Haven't any of you read the thread?
