  1. Yes you should have won but your strikers need to learn how to shoot. You had plenty of chances to put the game out of reach but not a single decent strike from any of them. Brad didn't have a serious save to make all night. a point against Nancy should see us qualify in first place
  2. 2 - 1 to Rovers
  3. One of my oldest friends has a windfarm in Argyll, as an aside it is a thing of great beauty and to stand below these trubines is quite awesome, anyway I digress. The farm has been in place for perhaps seven years now and a second one is going through planning. This part of Argyll is famous for eagles and during the 6 year planning ordeal the bird lobby (RSPB I think) protested the turbines presented a hazard to the eagles. The arguement was, and I'm not joking, the birds might fly into the turbines and presumably get shredded. After one meeting the bird lobby man took my friend to one side and whispered "Between you and me we think the eagles will fly round the turbines, not straight through them!" The turbines are there and there are shredded eagles all over the place...................... I love wind farms, apart from the global warming bit, I feel they add a strange beauty to our world.
  4. I know the game is on TV and is being shown in Blues but does anyone know the channel that is broadcasting the game? My lad can't get to Blues and needs to find the channel or somewhere in Manchester showing the match.
  5. Now there's a thought..............
  6. I know one thing, if we get through and draw anyone I can get to reasonably easily I'm booking the flight first and asking second! I'm so sick at knowing the other half would have agreed, and tonight I'll be stuck in Blues
  7. Me too. I didn't raise the idea at home because Christmas is coming and all that and yesterday the good lady indicated she'd have agreed
  8. BRISA spent months trying to put this sort of structure in place. Ultimately we felt there was a real danger we could spend years sitting in pubs discussing "organisation" and get nowhere. Personally I feel we underestimated the volume of "administration" and the difficulty of targetting our efforts. Yes too much was said, with the best of intentions, too soon. BRISA is not "all mouth and trousers" but I have sympathy with the view. This is being addressed, there is currently a real concentration on a single objective. I hope BRISA will be able to move forward from there. True, but I think we can do it This describes precisely what is currently happening. There have been recent comments BRISA has been quiet of late, so it's damned if you do and damned if you don't. We have our heads down, we are working to an objective we hope will reach fruitition in the next couple of months. One of my major concerns has been BRISA had too many woirds and not enough results, vigourous efforts are being made to address that very point. I hope this post doesn't appear defensive, no one understood fully what we were taking on. We had hoped more people would be able to step forward and help with the work load once they new of our existence. With a few notable exceptions, this hasn't developed as anticipated. Frankly it's bloody hard work but we are going to keep trying. We are ready to accept any objective criticism, ready to admit our mistakes and trying to push things forward. Anyone who wants to help will be welcomed with open arms. I'm quoting this post because it highlights the real problem, not the FF bit but the inclusion in decision making. Initially BRISA tried desperately hard to include every view presented to us, we have mountains of mail and e-mail. Hours wre spent discussing every topic. Why? Because BRISA is determined to include everyone and every view. This was a mistake. Yes, we must include one and all but we have to be better at focusing on the issues and areas where we can make a difference. Frankly trying to include hundreds of fans in the decision making process doesn't work. One ends up spending all one's time consulting but doing little.
  9. I'm disappointed to see you think that is our motivation. Knowing many of the people involved I'd say it's a long way from the truth, half the problem is getting people to step forward and make their talents public. The motivation is very simple, to try and make a difference and put something back into the club. The point behind BRISA is to represent fans views to the club. Yes I believe BRISA can make a difference. If we are proved not to be able to do so we will at least have tried I have yet to meet anyone who has spoken face to face with either TF or JW who has not been enthused by their attitude. If there is one thing BRISA can do it is to help fans understand the real passion and committment of the club's management. Certainly fans will have criticism of some of their actions and policies but there should be no doubting the committment to Blackburn Rovers. If JW and TF were simply out to pacify us I'm sure they would not spend many hours, often in the evenings, listening to BRISA and any other fan who takes the time to respond to their offers for personal meetings. It would be far simpler to fob people off. Nothing has happened? I don't have time to go into detail but there are several points BRISA has put to the club which are now reality. None of are arrogant enough to believe BRISA was responsible. The club listen to many different groups and respond in an appropriate way. BRISA will hopefully have helped to underline views from other groups or individuals. Attendance and atmosphere are two very crucial issues for the club and the fans. simple as that. Everyone active in BRISA has got off their backsides, everyone of us is a regular fan, and many are ST holders I'm not shooting you down just trying to respond, please also see the response below to EIT. As for Vinjay we have done everything we can to accomodate him. In return we asked he stop filling every thread with remarks about the Walker family. We, brfcs.com. offered to meet him face to face, he refused, our offer still stands. i'll be in Blues tonight, if Vinjay likes to e-mail admin@brfcs.com he can meet me for a beer.
  10. Chatting to my good lady yesterday, she didn't know where Feyenord came from, on being told it was Rotterdam she remarked "I suppose that wold have been quite easy to get to, just fly to Amsterdam!" I could weep
  11. Well just 36 hours to KO and I shall be heading to................Blues Bar Anyone fancy a beer? The game is live in Blues and this must surely be the second best place to be on Thursday night
  12. Two people offered to meet him. The offer was declined.
  13. Just to emphasise the Walker Family do not own Blackburn Rovers, the trust does. Therefore Vinjay's posts are fundamentally inaccurate from the start. It's possible a Walker family member might get a touch peed off by the family name, which is proudly assocciated with Rovers, being slagged off all the time when the family is not responsible for the club in any way. It may be plain silly but there are plenty of sites which have been closed down for similar reasons. A few years back a Coventry City fan was sued by the, then, chairman for libel on the basis the fan ran the messageboard on which libellous remarks were posted. It's not so silly when that happens. Several sites have been closed by the PL and the FA for publishing copyrighted material. This isn't a joke and speaking personally I'll continue to stop anyhting I think could land the MB in serious trouble.
  14. It's very simple Vinjay was banned for repeatedly hijacking threads with his anti-Walker family stance and, crucially, we are very unsure of our ground if an individual(s) constantly post derogatory remarks of this sort. None of us are prepared to run the risk of a lawsuit simply to allow Vinjay, or anyone else, to rant on and on about the Walker family. By all means criticise the Trust but not the Walker family. The two are seperate and Vinjay seems to be unable to make this distinction. It's the same with copyright, illegal streaming etc. If we get sued our houses could be on the line, we don't have the knowledge to judge these matters and will always err on the side of caution ~ freedom of speech or not. BTW - banning etc is done by me, Ste and Glenn. We decide, don't blame the mods.
  15. I agree with much of this post. If Gally isn't getting games because he isn't a Hughes signing I'm disappointed in Sparky - I have him down as a bigger man than that. Of course Hughes is paid to win football matches and he must pick the team he thinks will get those results. We have a massive programme from now to Christmas - 10 games in 37 days and I'd like to see Gally given a run in the five games starting at Watford and finishing against Nancy. Like others I can't think of an occassion when he has let us down and he definetely does provide a spark when he comes on. I didn't see the Liverpool game so I don't know about his performance in that one. I'm one who always favours home produced players, I like that local lad connection, but I think Gally has more about him than just the local factor. I know we can't make a direct comparison but he seems to bring far more to the team than either Douglas or Danns ever did. As for Mokoena not being good enough for the PL? I just can't agree with that. He looks poor at CH, can't play forward of the half-way line BUT when asked to do a job in front of the back four is as solid as many others I've seen in that role. His job there is simple, break up the attack, pick up loose balls or players, make the easy pass to relieve pressure. All of this I feel he does well.
  16. Not from me. I can't see any reasons why he's not being given an opportunity during our current difficult spell. I've always liked him and being "local," in the academy sense, he would bring the buzz with him. As for Mokoena, he does what he can. I'm never worried by him when he's in a defensive role, just in front of the back four, but elsewhere his limitations are there for all to see. For example yesterday he found himself in the Utd half on a couple of occassions with the ball, a positive pass was needed but he just took the easy, sideways or backwards option.
  17. Thanks for your well balanced posts, always appreciated on here. Aside from all the usual Ronaldo stuff, which I can't be bothered with personally, I feel, as did the Utd fan I took to the game (hangs head in shame) that he still lacks maturity. Yes he was doing great things out on the wing but far too often the final ball was wasted, either through a poor shot or a poor ball into the box. It looked dangerous but lacked any real danger to us and I felt there was an over-reliance on getting the ball out wide to him when there were often other possibilities. Having said that, you have a great team which should be champions come May. I'm not so sure it is as ignorant as has been suggested. I took part in the two minutes silence at 11.00am Saturday - 11th hour, 11th day, 11th month etc. There was then another minute's silence at 11.00am Sunday, which is actually Rememberance Day, I sometimes wonder if we over do these things. My lads wanted to know why we had another silence before the football.
  18. There was a full coach load in The Hogton Arms at 12. See above. It wasn't just The Fernhurst
  19. Once again I was at a different game. For me this is a United side very, very close to matching the truely magnificent one of around ten years back. That side just came at you in wave after wave. The current side seems to rely on putting the ball to Ronaldo too much for me, but otherwise they are very, very good. Ronaldo isn't good enough or consistent enough, yet, for Utd to keep relying on like this. Considering our injury situation, the players available to Sparky I thought we did well and just, but only just deserved a point. The size of our squad is being shown up at present and there is little the manager can do. This Utd side should be champions next May, and much as I hate to say it I hope they are. Anyone but that bunch of mercenaries from Stamford Bridge.............
  20. There isn't a waiting list anymore. I know a lad of around 20 whose Dad put him on the list when he was born and he got his first ST this season...........20 years wasted in my view but there you go. I've noticed Utd advertising tickets up to and including the day of the game on there website.
  21. Correct he definetely said that. Still we can dream for a while
  22. What about this Nolan bloke? Is he any good? Only scored once when others were getting hat-tricks. Is he a goalkeeper or just not up to it?
  23. You can always post on Rivals, whatever that is, if you wish. The point, RTM, is that by blathering on about youngsters you have never seen play and complaining when others have a dig at your view, is that you do yourself no favours. I can assure you the abuse on here can get far, far worse, you ain't seen nothing yet! Nothing you've reported comes close to abuse.............now where's thenodrog
