Wigan had 20000 for the game with Utd, 5000 down on last year.

David Moyes on the otherhand is calling for all PL games to be on a Sunday after the international weeks.
-
Just booked my Chelsea and Euro home tickets - I got 12 tickets, mixture of adult, young adult and junior for £60. So we get the PL champions and two Euro games for an average fiver a seat. Amazing value

Delighted by the clubs Euro offer, as others have already said the club have responded and it is now up to the Blackburn public to get off their collective backside and get to Ewood. If any initiative deserves to sell out the ground it's the Bolton and Euro offers. If you don't buy now never complain again. Hannah's post is really important and shouldn't be overlooked. This is anopther fantastic move by Rovers. There is a huge amount of work involved in marketing as detailed as this but it can be enormously successful - i've been worked on a similar principle for years and it really gets customers to pay attention and book orders (or buy tickets in Rovers case). In terms of initiative shown sending out cards already stamped with your entitlement from this season is right up there with the Euro offer. just think get two Euro tickets, a Bolton ticket and your halfway to a freebie. Get on with it!!

I don't have a particular problem with Neill, he's off my radar these days. So long as he plays well till he leaves I don't care what happens to him. I don't like him publically announcing he isn't happy and wants to leave but can'd anyhting about it. The is one difference between Neill, other footballers and the rest of the working world. If I announce I want to leave my employment at the end of my contract I would expect to find my replacement in my seat PDQ and my contract paid up. Ordinary folk don't announce they are leaving until they have found a new job......in that sense Neill has done us a favour
-
Correct. If I let it be known I wanted to leave I would expect my employers to look for a replacement immediately and I wouldn't be too surprised if my contract didn't get renewed.

Just bought the new Bob Dylan album ~ Modern Times. Haven't bought a Dylan album for maybe 15 years, it's a bit like being a lapsed catholic (I'm one of those as well). Great album, a very different Dylan musically and some great lyrics. Looks like I may 15 years of catching up to do. Buy it. Any old fogies know if he has plans to tour the UK with this band? -
I don't ever recall away fans paying less than ST holders? Home support yes, away support I'm less sure about.
-
Looks like Bolton at home is £15 adult and £5 concession, possibly in all areas. Tickets should be on sale tomorrow. Any opinions from ST holders on this? If you're sat in the BBE end you will have paid £23 for your seat while visiting walk-ups, home and away, will pay £15.
-
I do hope this is a mistake on Bolton's behalf. I'm all for price promotion etc but it will really take the biscuit when away fans pay less tham ST holders. Especially when it's Bolton who stitched us up good and proper 2-3 years ago on tickets at their place.

We have fans registering from Poland and Holland.............welcome to brfcs.com

My thoughts exactly and if we have Wisla at home it minimises the travel effect for the players in the following PL game.
-
Tom Finn looked reasonably pleased
-
In the groups is it 2 or 3 points for a win? I'm just trying to work out the minimum points needed for third place
-
Rangers at home is the one I'm looking for
-
Sorry Abbey I'm praying for a move as I'm currently stuffed with the Bolton game

While I agree with all the points made by Tris and others regarding the club's efforts surely the Wigan/Salzburg comparison demonstartes price is the only real factor? Pricing policy is not entirely Rovers fault, the PL has created the ridiculous pricing policy which exists in the game today. Rovers are simply trying to compete. Premier League football is an over-priced, over-exposed, poorly promoted, widely available, product with an unsavoury image for many. No wonder it doesn't sell at these ludicrous prices. I can't imagine any realistic circumstances under which I'd watch any away PL game. I simply refuse to pay these prices and only continue going to Ewood because the ST is such good value. If I was a walk-on I doubt I would have bothered with Wigan. I'm mean Wigan? So what it's only Wigan. It was a nice day, I'd probably have gone out on the bike. Against Salzburg we had 18888, Wigan was 17859. It's widely accepted we have 12000 ST holders, giving nearly 7000 walk-ons for Salzburg. Wigan had around 1500 at the game, meaning 4359 Rovers fans paid on the day. Salzburg are not exactly the creme de la creme of European football yet they attracted nearly 19000 home fans. Wigan, local rivals, a member of the EPL "the most exciting league in the world" (I'm told), no TV coverage, etc, etc. and the home crowd falls by around 2500. The reason and solution is obvious. The PL as a whole needs to wake up to the simple fact that fans all over the country are turning away from a boring**, over-priced, over-hyped, over-exposed league which at best only four teams have any realistic chance of winning. Then what do I know, I'm just a customer/fan and Sky is more important than me. Thursday's game had relevance, the result mattered and the price was right, you can't say the same of the Wigan game. The attendance against Chelsea in the league cup will be interesting. See sponsorship really works I don't even know what it's called these days. Which delights me. ** boring needs defining. Rovers are playing some scintilating football which I'm really enjoying. The PL though is utterly boring, the champions are decided, yesterday's result has little impact in these terms. Who is top of the league? I neither know nor care. Who is in the bottom three? Ditto.

Really, really enjoyed the second-half performance which contained some of the most exhilirating football Rovers have played in years. There's little doubt Hughes understands his role at Ewood, which is much more than winning games, and is intent on giving us great winning football. After a poor first half the second 45 minutes was just wonderful, if slightly nerve-wracking, to watch. One thing I don't get is this European excuse, for any team. We played football on Thursday night and then again on Sunday. So what? Last season on eight occassions we played Wednesday-Saturday or Saturday-Tuesday which is precisely the same as Thursday-Sunday. I can see the point has some relevance if a team has played away but a home game in Europe leading to a sluggish start in the next PL? Utter rubbish and nothing but an excuse, for any side yet the press continually trot this out and fans accept it as some sort of gospel. Very disappointed by the gate. They don't know what they missed. This was a very important result and performance, so often we follow one good home result with an inept loss. Good to see that was avoided.

Hadn't got as far as Sunday yet, but you're spot on. If the extra support last night tunr up on Sunday and see a good win it should work wonders for them. BTW did anyone else get caught out by the KO time. We happened to leave a bit early, switched on Radio Rovers to hear something on the lines of "....and full commentary starts in 12 minutes" Good thing the cameras were switched off! -

How often have we made a mess of these games in the past? An expectant crowd, a real opportunity to progress while showing the more casual support how good we can be, The usual result is the opposite of last night. For me the most pleasing aspects of last night were the team and the management showed they are committed to this competition and around 7000 walk-ons turned up to see a very good Rovers performance. If those 7,000 aren't convinced to come back on Sunday it's hard to know how they will be. Good to see the club heavily trailling the Chelsea game at £15 for ST holders and £18 for walk-ups. Hopefully JW will be sufficiently encouraged by last night's gate to continue the policy for the group stage. -
My lad gets £12, he's supposed to give me half each week to pay the DD into his savings account. Like Aggy says that is a struggle, I reckon 50% of the time I'm simply chucking £6 into his account without getting the cash!

[Archived] Anti Virus Software
Paul replied to colin's topic in I Can't Believe It's Not Football Archive
colin, if you are still pepared to spend £40 try this. I've been using various versions for 5-6 years without any problem. There's a 30 day free trial you can opt for to test it. The thing I like is it just downloads, installs and works - once you've got used to the software you can fiddle around to change things but there's no real need. Trendmicro will cover security, anti-virus, anti-spy, phishing and plenty more. I wouldn't go near McAfee or Norton again, both have caused endless probelms, usually greater than the actual virus itself -
No I'm afraid Jan doesn't get it. I chose to afford the ST, I'm not whinging about that. I'm just sick to death of being treated like a fool. I have to listen to managers, coaches, the media, players spouting the same old garbage every week. Men like Mourinho, Fergusson, Benitez, McDermott today, who should know better, behaving like spoilt children. Kissing the badge, playing for my club when they want to be somewhere else and telling me that's the case. I'm tired of the gate debate, I'm tired of a half-empty ground, I'm bored with watching games with meaningless results, I don't look at the PL table anymore more - Rovers are twelth, Utd are top, beyond that I haven't a clue who is doing what. I'm sick and tired of hearing of cup draws that will earn the club a lot of money, oh and by the way we have a game to play as well. I want to watch footballers who are trying their best, footballers I can relate to, footballers who look like they care. I want MOTD to be special, I want televised football to special, I want European nights to be special, I want to be excited.....and I want to do it at 3.00pm every other Saturday. We had all that once, and terrible tea and pies. On the other hand if football wants to charge £36 for 90 minutes I expect to get a damn sight more for my money than is currently on offer at most grounds. We've had around 15 years of the PL and billions pumped into the game. Guess what I still can't buy anything decent to eat or drink at half-time anywhere. If I'm paying £36 for an event I expect to be treated as though I'm VERY important, not talked down to every day by some idiot manager, not forced to elbow my way to the bar, not treated like I may be a hooligan, not offered disgusting pies and chips at half-time. Football in this country hasn't a clue about looking after their customers....and that is why people have stopped going. Jan you know you wouldn't put up with it in any other area of life. Why in football?

Without turning this into a BRISA thread we are having a committee meeting very soon to discuss the direction we should take for now and the future. You should have had a newsletter about ten days ago.

Just for devilment I'll chuck this one in: Greater Manchester population: 2,585,800 Old Trafford capacity: 75,000 +/- if sold out Utd attract 2.9% of the population, I know most of them come from Essex Lancashire population: 1,156,100 Lancs Utd capacity: 40,000 If sold out this would represent 3.45% of Lancastrians, better pulling power than the best supported club in the world (or so they say) Now that would be some marketing exercise
