We have an idea, which still has to be turned into a plan, on tackling that very point. As regards head-shaking I'd agree but would add it has been fascinating to hear the views of Williams and Finn. I've learnt more in 2 meetings than in the previous 25 seasons. Communication is the key. -

BRISA, quite categorically, will attempt to represent the best interests of Rovers fans everywhere. If that's a problem get to the Watersedge on Thursday 17th November 8.00pm and I will be happy to discuss it. Clearly if members put forward ideas that they wish BRISA to act on this will be taken into account. BRISA can only act on issues in two ways: 1. The issues the BRISA committee deem relevant 2. Issues raised by fans, be they members or not If you don't like that come and tell us the issues that are important to you and other fans you know. This is not waffle it is fans getting off their backsides and becoming active.............. something which to date has been sadly lacking in Blackburn. -

Vinjay I can't help but think you may have got the wrong end of the stick. Clearly joining BRISA is a decision for each and every fan. We need to be clear though BRISA is not intending to be in conflict with the club or other groups of fans. In fcat BRISA has gone out of its way to include evryone; some groups do not wish to join us, others do our mission statement is: "Representing the best interests of Blackburn Rovers supporters everywhere" We can hardly achieve that if we are in conflict with the club or other fans. BRISA has clearly staed it wishes to work with club but will not be scared to challenge the club's view if we believe it is not in the fans' interest. That isn't conflict, it's discussion. We asked John Williams how he viewed BRISA, his response was this: - BRISA will be seen as a sounding board - A good resource to the club for feed back on fans’ views - Effectively BRISA will be free market research - Information gained from BRISA could be very valuable - BRISA could be a sounding board at Premier League level and not simply within BRFC. JW/TF might wish to discuss PL initiatives with BRISA - JW cannot conceive the club as not being interested in the fans’ view. The club do want to listen but is frustrated when fans’ express the feeling the club does not care about them I think that's very positive and anything but conflict PS - Water's Edge is lucky to get 10 in on a Thursday night -

We prefer to remain independent of the club. Blues Bar is 1) closed and 2) noisy. Ewood would have to be kept open for us and somehow I don't think Rovers would want to stump that cost. -
Great game, really good to watch. If we can have more like that England will be worth watching for the first time in round 3-4 years. Didn't Le Saux talk a load of rubbish, all night long, good grief he's bad.

Bugger, stolen my thunder there but good to see someone else has noticed this one. An aspect of the "family" pricing which many fans, throughout the PL, have benefitted from ovre the past 10-12 seasons is the cheap child STs. In our house we've taken advantage of free under 8's, then £40, £50, 60, £70 STs as the club increased prices and/or the kids got older. It has been good marketing and a real two-way benefit as we spend money in the ground, the club shop etc. plus the club has helped raise three fans for life. However Rovers, and I suggest the majority of PL clubs, may now have a problem. My ST costs have risen dramatically in the the past two years as the kids moved past 16. We have gone from watching Rovers as a family for a very reasonable +/- £500-£550 for years to just short of £1000 in two seasons!! Gone are the £50 STs to be replaced by £250 ones and while this may still be reasonable the extra funding is difficult. I know of an uncle and nephew who used to follow City together, now the nephew is 16+ neither go as two STs are not affordable. Personally I hope this will be apart of BRISA's discussion with the club. By encouraging family support Rovers need to appreciate large sections of the support do not view a ticket as only £15, it will be several times that. Funding for STs from the same income when the kids reach 16 is a little different from £50 each for the season. -
It would make life much simpler if you could ALL just grow and behave like adults. Thank you. I'm full of cold and have an itchy trigger finger this morning.

Interested to learn last night that a seperate stand/area was something Asian fans have discussed with the club. This was the Asian community's request not the club's suggestion. Have to say I was shocked by that.....and can we please keep the integration debate in ICBINF

Thanks SG. I think everyone is feeling pretty good today. Our thanks to all who attended..........now the real work begins -
I'd always assummed Strikers was there because it was the FS rather than the other way round.
-
.....also when have we ever looked like regularly selling out the BBE?
-
I'm guessing here........and thinking back ten years or more 1. Couldn't put it in the JW as these are the prime seats, highest prices etc. 2. Couldn't go in the Riverside - no facilities, old stand 3. Couldn't go in the Darwen End - away support problem 4. Couldn't go in the BBE - for obviouis reasons 5. Wanted to give families nice, new stand to help sell tickets Solution - upper tier BBE
-
Interesting idea and I can see some benefit to having the stands more densly packed. We've been thinking about a move out of the Family Stand into the BBE or JW and have used the cup games to try this out. I favour the JW for the view. After trying both stands I've decided against both because, and I'm not asking for a change or criticising anyone: 1. the concourses of the JW and BBE are packed and reek of beer and cigarettes. I don't want to go in there at HT. 2. it already takes 15-20 minutes to get served on the concourse in the FS and last night it wasn't even worth trying in the JW. So if the family area is moved I'd ask the club to ban smoking in the JW, increase the concourse capacity and provide more opportunities to buy a drink. Great view though

I don't think it's surprising really, and have to say I'm surprised by the praise he has been receiving for last night. He played well but he was far from brilliant, just did his job. Emerton has been so awful for the past two years that he's going to have to put in some real blinders to change my view - lets not forget he struggles to beat a man, can't cross a road and has a poor shot. So while he might be our better option on the right he has a long, long way to go before he's the player he should be. For me I thought Hughes' remarks at the audience evening where telling, basically he stated Emerton was a great outlet for the team in away games, when under pressure the players would look to him to carry the ball up the pitch. That struck me as damning with faint praise, no mention of any other aspect of his game. I wonder why? I think he will leave in the summer. -

Three very good goals with Bellamy playing an important part in each, what a difference he makes. Very enjoyable, we might have been two up at half-time. Good game, good performance, good crowd...... Home draw please Thought Douglas was a bit silly in having a go at Tugay and then when Bellamy had a word he had a go at him! -

I don't know the precise law but understand the victim has the right to anonimity in rape and other sexual crimes. To be clear on this site's policy; we will not permit the naming of anyone in connection with similar allegations until it is widely reported in national media......if only to prevent Ste, Glenn and I from being sued. -

The BRISA Steering Group meets roughly on a monthly basis and anyone is welcome to attend these meetings. Now BRISA is more public these meetings will be publicised on the BRISA website. BRISA is planning "events" for BRISA members. We hope one of these will be confirmed and publicised at the launch. We expect to organise regular events, not necessarily just at Ewood, which will benefit the membership. Where these events are held will be determined by the membership's geographic spread and finding local organisers. -
