  1. Please do not start down that line theno. We've been there before and in the current climate I do not wish to go there again. If you want the rules strictly applied to others be prepared to accept the same for yourself.
  2. Jeeeez, that's a bit scary.....just how far from Ewood do the chips in the STs scan for? We're not
  3. Admin has received a number of PMs and e-mails regarding this thread. The thread was re-opened last night as a direct result of this and rightly so. Personally I am very concerned that some feel intimidated and unable to express their views for fear of ridicule. This is a terrible situation and not one that requires the "if you can't stand the heat" type response. We have 3600+ members on here and each has the right to an opinion. I'm therefore appealing to those who cannot agree without resorting to abuse to consider your impact on others. I'm not looking at any person(s) in particular as it is obvious there is fault from members with varying opinions. It is very unfair, and pretty much against the values of our society, for the majority to be intimidated by a minority. I have no intention of debating this subject**, I'm simply asking each of you, all intelligent individuals, to calm it down a bit and allow others to feel they can post withour fear of ridicule. thanks ** which is not a dogmatic statement. I'm simply not going to debate the bombings as I don't want to. The moderation is not for debate as we are asking nothing more than for people to behave properly towards each other.
  4. OK again a couple of people have suggested the actions of a few are being allowed to hinder the majority interest in sensible debate on this subject. So I will open it up again. Any post that hints at a personal attack will be set to "Invisible" - this means the admin/mod team can see the post but it is hidden from the rest of the board. Now fight fair please.
  5. This thread is closed due to the level of personal abuse and the inability of those with opposing views to debate without resorting to insult.
  6. The answer to your question is in your own words theno. I'm not in the slightest concerned by the topic of conversation, I'm not overly concerned by the opposing views put forward but I am concerned by the personal insults and attacks from parties with differing views. There is no bias at all - and even if you chose to post a thousand examples I'm not going to rise to that one - as I am equally disappointed in the attacks from all parties. It is not necessary and past experience tells me where it will end. Terrorism has been a fact of life in our society for 30/40 years and we still don't have the answers. Abusing each other on a football forum will not resolve the issues.
  7. Every time I read this thread yhere is reason to close it down. It has been closed once and the re-opened after requests from members. If members of all opinions cannot behave decently towards each other the thread will be locked. Please..........thankyou PS - none of you want the terrorists to win. One part of their objective is to divide or to amplify the divisions that exist in our society. Some posts suggest to me a small success for the terrorist.
  8. It would be nice to log in and go straight to a football thread rather than knowing one has to come here first.
  9. Ah that sounds good RB, I'll make some enquiries.
  10. Yes know what you mean Rev but I couldn't manage that On the JW Central thing we would have moved there for next season but it's just too expensive in relation to the rest of the ground and I see no point in moving to the outer wings for roughly the same money as the FS. One thing I would like to be able to do is move around the ground. I'd like to move into the JW Central but I'm worried we'd end up with poor seats in the Outer Areas as we can't afford the central. My lads want to try the BBE. We have ended up back in the FS but it would be great to be able to have a couple of games in other stands to see how we feel in the seats available. The problem, MCMC, with moving the FS is the facilities in the Riverside aren't available. We don't use it but there is the strikers lounge etc. Secondly I'm not sure those who can't get in the BBE would necessarily find there was an atmosphere in the upper tier with the exception of perhaps 2-3 big games each season. Most of the time it would be half empty....at best.
  11. The BRISA discussion thread is not hidden it is open to ANYONE who expresses an interest in BRISA by e-mailing admin@roversosa.co.uk It is not a general forum on here because this would imply BRISA is an off-shoot of brfcs.com which it most definetley is not. It could be made a read only thread but this would simply generate multiple threads on the subject in other areas of brfcs.com, which we do not want as it is nothing to do with brfcs.com. Regarding getting people involved we spent two whole days writing, mailing and calling every Rovers association/group/club we could collectively think of. Everyone of those got a personal letter, e-mail plus a copy of the draft constitution and an FAQ - this is hardly out of the loop. Again ANYONE who wants to read all the BRISA discussion just needs to e-mail admin@roversisa.co.uk
  12. Ah.......execute them before they can bomb someone.
  13. ....but how does the use of the death penalty disuade individuals with the mindset to blow themselves to pieces from doing so? I'd have thought execution would be preferable to the feelings one would encounter in trying to detonate a bomb strapped to one's waist?
  14. The Daily Express, not a paper I usually read, ran a full page on Rovers yesterday under the headline "One More in the Eye for Rovers" over a picture of Bellamy rubbing his eye. The piece went on to suggest Hughesy is moulding the side in his own playing style - which I'd have said was combatitive, no more. The article sighted Todd, Bellamy, Savage, Dickov as the four main culprits and went on to add Flittcroft, Thompson and Neil (Liverpool legs) to the list and finished up by suggesting if we throw in Ryan Nelsen and Aaron "The Axe" Mokoena we have a full set of thugs. Which is precisely why I don't usually read the Daily Express, which was also busy selling itself on the Blitz Spirit of Londoners, or any of the other tabloids busy offering themselves as NEWSpapers. I could write the junk they publish.
  15. The ISA forum started as a discussion area to develop ideas prior to going public. To discuss everything in public would have achieved little and probably have been negative. Everyone who has expressed an interest in BRISA has been given access to all the discussion that has taken place......but interestingly only around 20 have shown sufficient interest to e-mail admin@roversisa.co.uk asking for more info.
  16. The ONLY answer is to improve the previously negative image and to win home games. Simple
  17. .........but following a couple of PMs making good points I'll open it up again. Please fight fair.
  18. If somebody wishes to start a reasonable thread discussing the terrorist attacks in London that's fine by me. I've been reading this off and on since this morning and it has now gone far enough. Thank you
  19. Ah but last time I tried to buy train tickets to Wimbledon (tennis) it was around £120 each and not bookable more than 7-10 days in advance. I'd guess it might just be the same in 2012
  20. very good! In two minds about this. We had a great time at the Commonwealth Games but that was just a hop, skip and a jump down the M61. For most of us a visit to the Olympics is going to be a very, very expensive exercise to watch the first heat of some track event or other. My one real problem is that it is, again, London-centric, but then anyhting other than a capital city bid will almost always fail. It would surely benefit the whole country more if these events could be centred in the Midlands (in the broadest sense) to give everyone a reasonable opportunity to get involved. The CWG was truely exciting but I'm less sure about another London event taking place 200+ miles away, a 6-7 hour grind down the M6/M1 or a 2.5 hour train journey which by then will surely cost in the region of £225 return, per person. The mythical cheap tickets are never available in my experience. No doubt good for London, the rest of us will be able to watch on the telly.
  21. Yes......Liverpool's management seems to have gone quietly potty. Benitez stated he wants Gerrard to stay, become coach and then manager. Now what is it Rafa can see the rest of the world is missing? Stevie G may be a good footballer but the rest......... Sorry colin, I know it's not where you were going with that.
  22. That these lapsed ST holders attended the Parkes game suggests fans are happy to support those who demonstrate loyalty and committment to the club week in, week out...............said it before, I'll not bother to say it again but a part of the solution to declining gates is clear.
  23. There must have been 15000 at OT on Friday night and didn't we have fun! Singing, Mexican waves, banter with the Bressan and Lumb (good sense of humour that lad has). Lancashire came out to literally smash Yorkshire all over the ground with 18 boundaries in the first 6 overs, scoring 207 before bowling Yorks out for 97. I can understand why the purists don't like 20/20 but I've taken the kids to three games in five days this week and we may go tonight. We have two junior memberships because it's such a good deal, we buy food and drink at the game and replica shirts this week as well. Without 20/20 we simply wouldn't have thought about it. Plus the pleasure at 20/20 stimulated me to buy tickets for 3rd Test. PS - the replica shirts are better quality than Rovers!
  24. Oi! You two, behave yourselves in public
