Cheap tickets for away fans? They have to be joking...if it becomes cheaper for the away support than the home I may well not buy an ST. That is grossly unfair practice and must surely break some Trading Standards rule somewhere.
-
Potentially the ticket sales will cause embarrasment for both Rovers and Arsenal. It might be a good idea if fans took to e-mailing the BBC websites, 606 etc in attempt to put forward our views before the commentators start slagging the poor attendance. Have to agree with SG194 that 15000 will be good. Perhaps we should all have boycotted the game, it seems thousands are registering a protest but without actively thinking about doing so?

Just been to Ewood. There was a rush for the first hour according to the steward. At 10.20 there were less than 10 people buying tickets, 8 windows open, crash barriers the lot. All for nothing. Very depressing, sends a terrible message to the club, players and staff. I can't imagine having sympathy ever again for casual fans who complain about ticket allocation and not being able to get a ticket for a game. This is really beginning to take the edge off things for me. If we make the final I hope it's ST holders first, semi stub holders next and then I just don't care. Still at least parking in Cardiff will be easier.

As I said earlier, because the LET is not the club's PR mouthpiece. If there are negative articles, it is because they reflect the general feeling of the Blackburn public. Rubbish. It's because the newspaper industry in this country has grown fat on negative reporting and has no idea how to report anything positive. Seems as though it creeps into all areas of the media's life.

Overall I believe the apparent apathy towards ticket sales is down to three factors: 1. We all know we will get a ticket - look at the Burnley and Celtic away games, there was an almighty sramble because we knew tickets were limited. 2. Limited ticket availability actually stimulates interest in a game 3. The general malaise now impacting on football. People want their entertainment on the doorstep. We are looking at 6 hours to get there (got to allow for every potential problem) and probably 7 to get back (3 hours stuck in Cardiff and 4 hours home). This is simply a real turn-off for many. I can't imagine not being in Cardiff and don't understand why any fan, especially an ST holder, would miss the game for reasons other than cost. It's very close to the fulfillment of all our dreams but if folk chose not to go there is no point in criticising them publicly in the LET. The effect is bound to be negative and put some fans on the defensive. As I said earlier why are there no POSITIVE articles in the LET for this game? I dread to think of the reaction if we reach the final. Those who don't get tickets will be up in arms. Hopefully the club can make a clear statement at the beginning of future seasons as to how ticket allocation will be dealt with for particular types of game.

You can look here for details of where your seat is. Looks alright to me. Seating Plan and scroll down a bit.

Just got mine. When I asked for middle tier at £45 first reaction was these were sold out. On further enquiry the good lady found me a couple. Sales steady but a big demand expected this weekend was the report. A clearer idea of sales expected this time next week.

Oh dear, oh dear. Shooting the messenger again. The LET isn't (or shouldn't be) a PR mouthpiece for the club. If fans are facing a nightmare journey (which, with a 12 o'clock kick-off time 200 miles away they almost certainly will be), the paper will be reporting the story. If it's an old billboard and the story has been overtaken by events, you should complain to the newsagent. Blaming the editor of a paper that generally avoids controversy and is very fair to Rovers anyway, is silly. I'd agree the LET shouldn't be a mouth-piece for the club but that headline/hoarding (which is 5-6 days out of date) is the ONLY LET item I have seen on the semi-final appearance and it is entirely negative. I agree the story and information is important to fans but it needs balancing with all the positives. They might as well do an item on how much beer you can buy for £45 and it's on the telly anyway. Where is the Rovers in first semi-final for 45 years headline? No doubt the LET will be bringing out a 24 page colour special which they would like fans to buy? So get us excited with positive messages and bury the negative stuff in an adjacent article carrying precise information about travel difficulties. I'm going and the only gripe I have about travel, kick-off time, cost etc is that I really would like to go by train. Otherwise if I have to I'll cycle to Cardiff, being there is the ONLY thing that matters.

I'm planning to get mine today. I haven't even read the leaflet yet. Why? the club made it quite clear there was no need to rush. If I thought I wouldn't get a ticket I'd have queued all night and I expect a lot of others feel the same. All this chuntering and moaning is really depressing, we're in the semis, fantastic. Anybody who goes should have first shout on a final ticket (if we get there). I'm sure I read that the whole of the North Stand is now designated as the Family Stand so I can't see a problem there. Fully expect to ring up and get exactly what I require. Every night I drive past our local newsagent. The LET advertising boards still show "Rovers Fans Face Travel Nightmare". Marvellous, I'd take the editor out and shoot him. Mind you what else do we expect from the LET? Another great free match day special

Cardiff - simple as that. The kids had chosen OT as one of the away days we would have this season. That's been dropped for a trip to the Millenium Stadium. A lot of folk can't do both. Nice article on Hughesy slightly connected to next game

Alan's memory is right it was very rough then. A great deal of the waterfront area has now been developed and there will be a lot to do but I don't know what as I haven't been. I stopped visting Cardiff reguarly in the mid 80s after my folks left.

Genius. Funniest thing I've read in years.

There is also this collection of memorabelia which might be from a genuine fan. This is nothing to do with the site but I'm popping it in here as it could interest some folk: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=5177369281 or http://www.lifeschool.freedomnames.co.uk/sale/rovers.htm

Disappointed because we could have won that game, if we hadn't looked so tired and had a cutting edge. I'm afraid that while Dickov tried hard he just isn't good enough, I'm also sick to death of his bitching and complaining. As for Arsenal? The worst Gunners team I have seen in years. I thought they played very, very badly. The majority of the players cheated their way through the match and brought shame on their club and fans. When he first arrived I thought Wenger had more about him than this. If this is what he finds an acceptable level of play and ability for his team he should be ashamed of himself. I'd be embarrassed to be an Arsenal fan, they were utter crap.

Doesn't matter - good things come in threes and we will have been to Cardiff twice this year. Third time very lucky?

Whoops! Meant to delete that after the move I tried didn't work

About time Ericson got a good kicking from the FA.

UEFA cup games are usually played on a Thursday night. If Newcastle got through to the next round by winning this week, which they did, Newcastle would be playing a EUFA cup game on the Thursday prior to the semi-final weekend. It would be unreasonable to expect them to play on Saturday, especially if they had played an away leg in Russia or some such distant spot. The FA had to wait and see if Newcastle won or lost their tie before final decisions could be made. Having said all that Newcastle played on wednesday this week so surely they could play on the Wednesday prior to the semi-final weekend? Subject to the oppositions agreement, which i suppose was the potential problem.

Hughesy - could you keep this on the topic. Most of what you've posted is frankly b*llocks. While I agree with much of what has been posted I don't think driving is such a bad option. I plan to leave at 5.30 - 6.00am and expect to be in Cardiff by 9.30 at the latest. Drive time is 3 to 3.5 hours. I have the feeling the biggest problems we are going to face will be: * congestion getting in to Cardiff * parking - don't expect to use the car parks we had for the Worthy - these will all be in use by shoppers * the city centre will be packed with the usual Saturday crowds * local public transport will be rammed Question - how do we feel about an organised car pool? I for one will have spare seats.
-
Tom Finn's letter - that's why our club is great. Excellent stuff from him. Looks a nailed on certainty to me that we are looking at 12.00 Saturday unless Olympiacos can do the business on Thursday night. Cardiff is going to look pretty bedraggled after the semi-final weekend. Glad I don't live there.
-
Agree Capt K but I feel our lads are more likely to know their place. Rovers will accept the under-dog status, be confident they have a chance but know they have to fight like hell, etc. whereas the Arsenal boys could get lulled into the "just turn up on the day" attitude. the more the media pump up Arsenal and have a down on us the better.
-
Lots of people are asking me how I think we'll do, mostly Mancs, and I'm responding I feel we can beat Arsenal in the semi. If they do start to feel confident this can only help our cause.
