  1. On Monday - when we did the interview - there were only 11,000 tickets sold. I don't know the figure now. Been doing this every gane since the third round - seems to be working
  2. They make my gym shirt as well
  3. I was just reminiscing about exciting football used to be and how with increased media attention that has disappeared. European nights were great nights because they came around 3 or 4 times a season, or so it seemed. Now there seems to be something every week and it's very boring. On the otherhand I'm getting older
  4. Just discovered today that 4th place in the league might not guarantee a CL place. Should Liverpool win the CL the FA can recommend they qualify for next season at the expense of the fourth placed team. Now that could go down well on Merseyside The winners do not automatically qualify.
  5. European Cup. Yes sorry European Cup. Great post jim. I still remember the excitment of the Lions of Lisbon and Utd winning at Wembley even though it's near on 40 years ago. Those grainy pictures of Celtic, almost unwatchable. Utd at Wembley. Both fantastic nights. I'll have forgotten Chelsea's match by Sunday. Familiarity does breed contempt. There was even a time I used to watch out for Celtic - Rangers but not anymore. There are very, very few great games these days and I doubt we will ever see those fabulous European nights return?
  6. I cannot see any true entertainment value in the CL. The league structure presents fans with a series of meaningless games and it's not until the knock-out stage there is any real excitment. Games like Chelsea's and Liverpool's come along occassionally but most of the time it's typical European football, dull in other words. Utd's performance was described as "typical of a European game" i.e lots of strolling around. Clearly some teams will fill stadiums but should Rovers, Bolton etc ever qualify I doubt there would be a huge demand. The CL simply presents the clubs with another method of making huge amounts of money. The standard rarely reaches the hype. Now when it was the Champions Cup things were different
  7. Just a reminder for the folk who have PMd me on this subject. I'm going to the shop Friday to get the shirts for those who have sent money. Anyone who wants a shirt please get a move on, though I will go a second time it would just save me time and effort if I coud do everything at once.
  8. Did anybody see Kevler Keegan's comments today. I seem to remember reading much the same on this site a year or so ago. I seem to remember posting much the same on this site a year or so ago............... Me too. The sooner Arsenal, Utd and Chelsea disappear into a European Super league the better. Two questions about it though: 1. A Euro league will be televised, possibly every game, so will that sate the armchair masses? If so they ain't going to Ewood on Sunday. 2. Without the big names would the crowds return because the league would be more competitive? Big question. I'm not sure the lack of competitiveness in the PL is THE problem.
  9. If it's the one you sent me it hasn't arrived yet. Once it does I'll post on here. Thought it would be there by now
  10. Trimm Trab, why is it you only appear to post and remark on this thread?
  11. 14th - highest this season? 7 points off the drop and we have to play these teams as well.
  12. There should be a tape of the first game circulating in Aus already. I think the higlights of the replay are enroute.
  13. Check this thread: Buying a Shirt and see my post at bottom of page 1
  14. In the shop today there was a full range of adult home and away shirts priced at: Short-sleeved £11.99 Long-sleeved £13.49 With a big red SALE sign

Here's the deal: Shirts: Long-sleeved - £13.50 Short-sleeved - £12.00 Postage - £3-£6 depending on where in the world Donation to site - £5 Names are a real pain in the arse for me as I have to hang around while it's done. I really don't want to do this but if your desperate: Letters - 50p each Numbers - £1.50p each I'm not 100% about the cost of numbers so someone might like to correct that. The sooner people get on with this the better. 16. Winning bid was £1550. Either a bargain or a very serious collector
  17. Leo, check the thread you started on the main MB. If you are stuck send me a PM and I'll sort the shirt for you.
  18. For those still looking for a shirt these are now back in stock in Roverthemoon or whatever it's called now. As far as I could see all adult sizes in both home and away. Long sleeved at £13.49 and short-sleeved at £11.99 in the sale. Looked to be about 20 of each size home and away. Shorts also in stock but I didn't look closely at these so no idea about sizes.
  19. Well now we have sunk to this level I'd suggest it's time to move on. Locking this thread. If anyone objects please send me a PM.
  20. Poor yes, dross no. There isn't a Rover who wouldn't acknowledge we are crying out for an exciting striker. Nobody said the PL was the best in the world but you spoke of the gap. In many ways the Championship is more competitive and possibly more entertaining but in pure footballing ability the gulf is very, very signifigant. Every year it becomes tougher for promoted teams to compete and their only real chance of staying up is to hope a PL team fcomes off the rails - Leeds, Southampton. I don't say this is good or healthy but you have to acknowledge the gulf between the two leagues.
  21. Without doubt last night's MOTM and getting better with every game. I was delighted to hear his interview on Radio Rovers in which he clearly stated he understood just how important the derby games were to the town and supporters. He even mentioned bragging rights. Now this from a guy whose home is 15000 miles away, who has spent most of his career in north America. I think he knows who pays his wages. If he continues to show the committment and ability he could be up there with some of the best.
  22. Sam I think you miss the point entirely. The table shows Rovers to be at best an average PL team. Under Hughes we are improving but there is a long road ahead. That said both games clearly demonstrated the vast gap between the PL and the Championship. While we didn't play well the speed of thought, skill and all around performance of our individual players was far superior to Burnley's, and so it should be - these guys ae paid an obscene amount of money because they are supposed to be good. At no time did you look like winning the tie, never did you actually threaten Rovers, neither game, while enjoyable, was enthralling because Burnley offered nothing. Burnley played well but to even begin thinking the PL is close is ludicrous, you don't have a single player able to survive at that level. With your current side you'd be down by Christmas. Just go and watch Norwich and WBA. You have many miles to travel and the sad thing, for football in general, is with every year the distance is greater.
  23. Don't care what the score is so long as the phones are red hot for Leicester tickets tomorrow. Geeez I feel awful.
  24. Lancs police twice reported, on Radio Lancashire,a gate of 27,000 including 5,000 dingles expected tonight. Sureli it will be nearer 29500 - 30,000. There can't be more than 3,000 empty seats for segregation?
  25. For the upper tier there are always at least two stewards on the turnstiles checking to see if you get a green or red light, for adult or child, as you go through. I think you'll find the restrictions have been relaxed for this game anyway.
