Wishy washy liberals! You might need to edit the last word of your post bellamy! -
I will NOT boo Ferguson and, while I understand how people feel, it would be stupid to do so. In some respects Ferguson may find no reaction harder to deal with than a cacophony of booing. Go to Ewood and support the team, Ferguson in that team or not.

Dragged my three down to Ewood since the ages of 4, 3 and 4 respectively. Each got bored, had a great time, irritated me, amazed me and asked "Why can't we support Utd?" at different times. The youngest would have stopped on many occassions "Can't I go shopping with Mum?" and now wouldn't miss a match. Rovers gave us free STs up to age 8, then it was about £40-80 to age 16, then about 50% discount on an adult for 16-18. There is a GREAT need for a discounted ticket for 18-21 (non-students). I've been shelling out all season for my 18 year old (no ST as he leaves for Australia on Sunday) and it's painful. I don't see how an 18 year old, earning top-side £5 an hour, can afford £28 to stand in the BBE - it's nearly 8 hours work. One thing I know to be an absolutle cast-iron certainty; wait till the child is interested and it's too late as he/she will already be a United fan by that stage. Peer pressure, pure and simple. All the kids I know who don't follow Rovers have never been taken by their Dads, and almost without exception they follow Utd. It's hard work raising a Rover. but none of them will ever support a team that doesn't wear blue and white halves. -
Nice one Sparky!! I get to like this man more every day Hughes on Savage: "We have signed a top Premiership midfielder in Robbie Savage and he alone will ensure that we get more than two minutes at the end of Match of the Day" Spot on Mark, we need this club to be driven forward and to raise our profile.

According to the club Bothroyd and Ferguson are both back in training and in contention for the Bolton game. Savage is expected to make his debut.

theno, do you seriously think I read everything you post just waiting for the opportunity for a pop? If that truely is the case it would explain a lot. Most of the time I just scroll past your stuff. Like I said if I notice one of your attempts to belittle others I'll comment - especially if it's a subject that interests me. -

Resist? - doesn't even come into it. Your comments usually don't even register. On the odd occassion I notice one, and when it's intended to belittle others, I comment. -

Whilst i am very happy with the ticket prices, can i make 1 small comment. I would like to have seen a young persons ticket available to non season ticket holders. That is a general comment, as well as for this match, as i feel that all round we should introduce young persons tickets at Ewood. And Nog, change the bloody attendance record please, its getting very boring!! Kinell! And a prolonged debate on young persons tickets is 'interesting'? You need to get out more. When it takes an eighteen year old 7 hours to earn the price of a ticket to watch Blackburn Rovers v Cardiff I'd say it is a very valid and interesting point. Or don't you want to see future generations down at Ewood thenodrug, probably not as you could tick "income" off your list of things to worry about. Or hadn't you considered young people can't afford to buy their own tickets at full price? -
I thought the MB was all about opinions?

I'd like to divorce myself from that. I'm not bashing Dickov. It was clear to the entire BBE he wrestled the Cardiff defender to the ground by grabbing him around the head/neck with both arms - AFTER the ball had gone. This is simply downright irresponsible play from a player of 12+ years experience. If Rovers are 1-0 down, chasing a game and Dickov is dismissed for this type of behaviour it could cost us 3 points, a semi-final, god knows what. I would hope Sparky takes him to one side and shows him how to be a little more discreet when he kicks the opposition

3-2 Rovers after going 3-0 up. MGP 2, Savage 1, Davies 2
-
What can we say? Possibly our worst performance under Hughes, or certainly since he started to truely manage and influence the team. At 3-1 this was the chance to go for the jugular and stuff a tidy but average Cardiff team with another 3 or 4. Overall very disappointed with the performance, those who opted to save their £19-24 and watch Exeter made a good decision. Without harping back to the ticket debate this performance clearly demonstarted why full price was not reasonable. MGP - very pleased to see he continues to take his chance in the team. Thought he defended and challenged more than one might have expected from previous reports. Certainly looks much stronger than against Bournemouth. Mokoena - just have to give him the benefit of the doubt for the time being but there was nothing to suggest he is a PL player. I don't think he actaully collected/cleared a ball all night. Dickov - more like @#/?. He's going to cost us dearly soon. All the energetic, pain in the bum rumming around is fine BUT he should have been sent off for wrestling the Cardiff lad to the ground with both arms around his head. This behaviour from a so-called professional footballer is indefensible. I'm happy with his contribution, value-for-money etc. but his on-pitch behaviour deteriorates with every game, he'll be sent off against Bolton if he carries on like this. He should go in the summer if he can't learn to control himself.

I've rushed home especially

Spot on. Thanks Rovers -
The T/O say 10,000 home tickets sold and The Fernhurst say 1500 expected from Cardiff.

Good post Tris. Revidge Despite my dislike and doubt of Ferguson's ability since day one I would agree with you Rev, except on the fans reaction to Ferguson. In an age when we are expected to pay through the nose for football, turn up for KO at any time of the day or night, watch average, lazy players earn £1m+ each season etc, etc. I think the fans reaction to the departure of certain players is fully justified. In Ferguson's case he was either lieing in early December or is lieing now. I don't expect loyalty, I don't expect the players to care about Rovers but I do expect players to respect the club as their employer. It's perfectly clear BF is another player who has been taking the p!ss since he arrived. We have a new manager and suddenly Ferguson can't stand the heat. In our hearts we know the players have no respect for the fans or the club and will leave at the drop of another signing on fee. For those who behave in a proper manner, e.g Berg, there is no problem, those who chose to lie and set themselves up deserve everything that comes their way. Run around kissing the badge by all means but don't take us for fools. Barry Ferguson has three options: 1. Stay at Blackburn Rovers and prove he has the b*lls to be a top class player. For this I would support and respect him 2. Go back to Scotland and be a failure for the rest of his career, fiddling around in a second-rate team, in a second-rate league and "starring" in crucial games at Kilmarnock. I will watch for and enjoy every bit of his failure - for a few months at least 3. Move to another PL cluband prove himself there. How many of us would feel happy if we sat at home, looking back at our job/work in the knowledge that we ran away from the challenge? Not many if we are honest with ourselves.

Update 9982.....just persuaded a travelling Aussie to attend his first match Emerton and Neil better do the business

Good Very true but then both the English and the Scottish are good at bad taste humour. Anyway I aplogise if I offended, my main point was the reason for coming was to escape the bigots and the reason for going home is because they can't settle.
-
Sorry- inappropriate comment from me Whatever you said it was probably warranted. Why can't people grasp that, by referring to sectarianism and bigotry when criticising Scottish football, you are lowering yourself to that level and as a consequence are no better than those you malign? I'm afraid I don't understand what you are getting at. Mine was a poor attempt at a joke.....BF's family are said to have been unable to settle in the area, BF earlier claimed he was looking forward to some "peace and quiet" for himself and the family. Apologies from me.

Blackburn Rovers continue to be at the centre of a midfield musical chairs. The Rovers skipper Barry Ferguson today handed in a written transfer request, presumably in the hope this would clear the way for his reurn to Glasgow Rangers. BBC _ Ferguson asks to leave Blackburn Meanwhile Birmingham City have completed the one year loan signing of Liverpool's Salif Diao as a probable replacement for Robbie Savage. Earlier this evening Rovers confirmed they have agreed a fee with Birmingham City for Robbie Savage. According to the club the "next stage" will be to discuss personal terms and for the player to undergo a medical. Site links: Ferguson Hands in Transfer Request Savage Fee Agreed

Clearly there's not enough sectarian bigotry in the Ribble Valley

...now if we were talking the caramel wafers?

Latest on Savage from BBC at 13.20 Thomo and Savage will sort it......once Barry "he's going to be a top, top player" Ferguson has tucked his tail between his legs and slunk off back to Hamilton. One thing we can say for the rest of the squad, they've all had the balls to buckle down and get on with their jobs since Sparky arrived.

Blackburn Rovers have announced club captain Barry Ferguson has made an official transfer request. John Williams, chief executive, stated "The situation will now be considered by the Board" Read the fans reaction HERE
