January Transfer window 2022
magicalmortensleftpeg replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Getting us into the PL would provide a life changing amount of money! If this is for a move to a PL team then to an extent I get it but to down tools is inexcusable. If this is for Bournemouth then I’d let him rot. -

Pathetic. Demanding a move when the squad is on its knees. Get him out of the club. -

I’m ignoring anything that comes out of Dorset. We won’t let him to go Bournemouth. -

That’s a cheap shot. Ive missed out like most but have no issue with the club selling to ST holders first. Whatever the system, when there are only 1000 away tickets, someone is going to lose out. -

I don’t think this has anything to do with Bournemouth. If he’s engineering a move it will be for a PL team not another championship side. We’d refuse to sell to Bournemouth either way. -

One of the more interesting things for me is Mowbray’s quote the other day that Rothwell wasn’t going anywhere. Mowbray is usually very coy on transfers and rarely speaks definitively so it would be surprising if he leaves now. Whatever happens, I can’t see him ending up at Bournemouth this window. If the rumours are true, it must be a PL side who are interested. -

Forget the name of the club, it’s the league. I can understand pushing for a PL move to an extent but this is really poor. If it is Bournemouth he’s after then he eclipses Bradley Orr in my book. -

Committing to another Championship club now makes no sense regardless of the wages. I could understand it if we were midtable but not when we’re above Bournemouth in the league. He’ll get far better financial offers in the summer when he’s a free agent. -

The idea that Rothwell is desperate to move down south to sign for a club lower than us in the division doesn’t make sense at all from any perspective. He could face the real prospect of moving to Bournemouth only to see Rovers go up instead. -

Let’s not lose perspective. Bournemouth lost there and they’re still very much auto contenders. I hope we win but Luton are in good form and are strong at home. We shouldn’t be aiming for it but a draw there is far from a disaster -

Really impressed with his attitude. No need to come back last night but clearly enjoyed his time here and wanted to be a part of it. Class act. Hope he goes right to the top. If he stays fit from now on it wouldn’t shock me if he’s a bolter for the WC squad. Be interesting to hear the reception for Trybull and Douglas when they return.. -

I thought it was one of the laziest performances from a Rovers player in a long time. Didn’t get out of a jog and stood still whilst Gallagher chased after everything even with 110 mins in his legs. Pathetic given the circumstances. Basically playing with 10 men. Happy to not see him play again this season if that’s how much effort he’ll put in. -

I agree, I don’t think he’ll attract PL interest. But with our current form, why would you leave for another Champ club? Only Fulham are in a stronger position and I can’t see them bothering. I think he’ll still be here come 01 Feb, unless someone offers stupid money (£10m plus) which isn’t happening. -

I’m not going to worry about this until it becomes clear that things are progressing. I can’t see us selling to Bournemouth unless the money is silly and he is desperate to go. But I don’t see why Rothwell would commit to them given that they’re lower in the league than us! Hardly a massive selling point. He’ll be holding out for a PL move which is fair enough. -

How on earth have you read that from those comments? We’ve rejected the bid and the article says that we’re standing firm. How else can you interpret that?? -
Championship 21/22

Have to say, given our injury situation, being out of the cup is looking like more of a bonus with each passing league game. February is such a massive month. If we can hold Forest and WBA then I think we can really start to believe. Whatever happens from here, it’s been a phenomenal effort. -

We know, it’s not new information. No one is denying it happened or asking people to forget, it just doesn’t need repeating at every opportunity. And if my opinion needs qualifying, I’m old enough to remember all of the above as well. -

Phenomenal result with a depleted side. Loving this death spiral. -

Butterworth is putting in one of the laziest performances I’ve ever seen. Disgraceful. -

Can’t complain about that. Edun is a concern and Gallagher is unconvincing at best but we look very hard to break down. Buckley is running the game. Would still take a point right now but feeling slightly more confident we could nick it. -

To be fair, our best results have come from having 7 defensive players. Having said that, we’re getting beaten tonight. I’m making my peace with it now. A point will be a bonus. I hate this sport. -

Who is saying that? Has anyone on here told you to forget about it? The only comments I’ve seen are that we shouldn’t dredge it up all the time. Dont know why age has come into it. I was 22 when Venky’s bought the club, does that count? -

January Transfer window 2022
magicalmortensleftpeg replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
No one is suggesting that it should be forgotten about. There’s a middle ground where we understand the reasons behind where we are today but also realise that there’s little benefit in complaining about events which largely occurred over a decade ago and can’t be undone. Trying to run the club in a financially sustainable way and cutting our cloth accordingly during this transfer window makes sense, regardless of what happened before. -

So when you get sunburnt do you simply sit there for weeks on end and constantly remind yourself that you should have put sunscreen on in the first place. Or do you regret the situation but focus on what you can do about it? We all know why we’re in this position and no one is disputing that. The fact is that we can’t undo the mistakes made 10 years ago and bringing it up now isn’t solving anything.
