Nicko suggesting is moving fast in appointing Ismael
-
Well we are 6th and we have made a number of successful signings who have all had an impact on us being 6th, so I don't know what your issue is. the head coach isn't in charge of recruitment for the reasons I posted to RevidgeBlue on the structure question he asked I was open minded on the appointment as I said at the time. I expected a foreign head coach to be appointment cos they are used to coaching the team and allowing the Director of football and the recruitment team to scout and find the players for the head coach to pick from the shortlist Wagner's CV has promotion on it, playoffs pace on it and he keep his promoted Huddersfield in the PL. happy with either but its looking like Ismael will be appointed
-
Or we could looked at it that Karanka was interview and maybe into the final interview stage before Rovers saw the fans backlash against his appointment and back tracked, releasing a story to Elliott to dismiss it, or we interview him and he didn't make into the final interview stage. Just for the record, I wouldn't had interviewed him
-
I always thought it would be foreign head coach that we appoint as Eustace's replacement. Its fits with our club structure. Wagner was 28/1 before Nixon's story, now 3/1 and Ismael was 5/1 yesterday now 3/1 How can Wagner been a downgraded on Eustace when he has promotion from this league, kept Huddersfield up in the PL in the first season and with Norwich got a top 6 playoff place? Also when he was sacked at Young Boys, they were second in the league, they finished 3rd at the end of the season

According to the day before article Karanka was on the list Blackburn Rovers' manager search with latest on interviews | Lancashire Telegraph Aitor Karanka is thought to be amongst those who will be holding further discussions with Blackburn. The Spaniard has Championship experience, including a promotion on his CV, and manager Head of Football, Rude Gestede, at Middlesbrough.

I said I would be happy with Ismael being appointing here as head coach. Also mentioned Wagner name on the 11th Feb about being candidates for the job. Would be happy with either. Hopefully a quick appointment can be made by Tuesday so it gives them 3 days on the training pitch. Have we not spoken Karanka?
-
Wagner got Huddersfield promoted and Norwich into the playoffs during his 2 spells in the championship. Ismael got Barnsley into the playoffs and also managed WBA and Watford were he didn't see a full season out.
-
Jackson did aswell. before 24 hours later, he wasn't on the shortlist. Nixon said he was interviewed and possible make it through to the final stage of the interview process
-
after reading an article on his time at Leicester, and I think Cooper will see himself as PL manager and would only take a job at championship level for huge wages and spending big No I don't think we should be angry at all. I agree but I also think they have to be in line with the club structure, how we recruit players, want to be here. how are journalists going to asked questions to Waggott or Gestede when they don't do interviews beyond club media channels. They should of course used Rovers media for interviews but also do interviews with local journos like Jackson and Bayes plus Sky Sports. why would Waggott leaving stop anything when Pasha is here and runs the club for the owners?
-
So would people be happy with either Ismael or Wagner taking over?
-
Alan Nixon latest article Blackburn Rovers are speeding up their search for a new boss - and may have a new man in charge in the next 48 hours. Rovers plan to speak to two candidates for a last time before making their selection following the defeat at Swansea. Experienced Valerien Ismael has got through the process so far and is fancied as favourite to get the nod. The former Barnsley, West Brom and Watford chief is available and would work within the budget. Ismael may need a work permit to be processed but qualified comfortably before. He left Watford in March and could have a case to extend without reapplying. The main contender for Ismael seems to be former Huddersfield chief David Wagner who has a good reputation in England despite a poor run in other jobs since. Wagner would also need a permit but also worked at Norwich until May so should be clear on a similar basis to Ismael. Other possibles have been counted out in the interview procedure with some unwilling to work for the wage on offer after lucrative spells in the Premier League.

of course we wanted better but I wouldn't begging O'Neil or Cooper to come here. Of course it will lower salary than they were on in the PL. Nixon's article was that Cooper and O'Neil thinks its too low of salary for them to take them the job. If you read Nicko's comments believe his article he comments about the salaries out of work bosses wants and also think some people come for that. But ex Premier bosses mainly see that as too little.

I said it was my opinion was asked. Who says 600k salary plus bonuses is doing it on the cheap? what is your point based on?

Maybe Dennis will play for the under 21's tomorrow. No idea if he will. -
I was asked my Sharpysharps86 about that and he asked it was my opinion, or something I knew. I answered it was my opinion. Maybe you missed it. Called out and found wanting by you😂. One of your funny post again 🙄

so what's people team selection for this game? my team Pears Brittain Carter Hyam Ribeiro Buckley Travis Dolan Dennis Karbgo Gueye Subs:- Toth Sanderson JRC Forshaw ACD Hedges Weimann Ohashi Woodrow

I almost spat my drink out at reading your post Totally deluded. Yours figures are roughly the same from research done during covid in April 2020. Nothing to see. I have already said its my opinions, that's all 3 were similar money around 500k-600k salary. I live a weird life? is that the best you got Mercer, You don't have a clue about my life, you know nothing about me apart from me being a big Blackburn Rovers supporter and season ticket, so please don't acting like you anything but what I have already said in this post.
-
Just my opinion as I said in an earlier post to Sharpysharps86. so you think we weren't paying previous head coaches a similar amount then? do you think we should pay a bigger wage to attract a Steve Cooper? Yes I am fully aware that the last time we extended Dolan will be leaving in my opinion.
-
I think you have to trust your recruitment team and the shortlist they present to you. They have put time into scouting, research into these targets. How much time does a head coach have to scout targets overseas or even players in league 1 who can step up to Championship really? The head coach main job is to get results, coach the team and tactics, whilst he has a side when it comes to the final target being pick. the same salary that Eustace, Mowbray and JDT was on? The basic salary is 600k plus bonuses being offered. I honestly have no idea and depends what they wanted to do, etc, etc. You tell me, you seems to have the all the answers and I am just wrong every time.
-
Totally deluded again Mercer. Just more BS and insults from yourself. The same salary Eustace, JDT and Mowbray was on. if any head coach candidate is just coming for the money then I don't want them here. Your stats come from this report done during Covid and on 28th April 2020 by Daily Mail sports reporter Mike Keegan Physios on £191,000 and kit men on £56,000! Crazy wages don't add up in EFL with clubs on the brink | Daily Mail Online
-
You coming here cos you wanted to come to the club, try to get us a playoff and promotion this season and if they build their own team working with Gestede and Owen to do that to try to achieve that. How is 600k salary not competitive salary previous head coaches were probably on similar wages like Mowbray, JDT and Eustace? If Cooper or O'Neil don't want to come for the salary then clearly they aren't the right choice. No my approach is about not keep going on and on about the same issue every day and act like people have forget them, cos no one has but I just don't mention them in every post. Not burying my head as you sand. Matty, well all respect, we all know the issues regarding the contracts of key players or lack of re-investment into the club from sales. Nowhere have I have said everything is hunky dory again, but to be utter honest, my focus is about getting a new head appointment before the next game and securing a playoff place giving the club a chance of promotion. What happens if we renew the contracts of Travis, Brittain, Hyam and Tronstad in the summer?
-
said it for the last 12 days FB. My opinion is nothing to do with Jackson but just feel that a foreign head coach suits our structure with Gestede and Owen running then recruitment side of the club. Did Derby offered him better salary then here. Thanks for the question. I reckon Eustace, JDT and Mowbray were all on similar wages I bet. Just my opinion.

Championship 24/25
chaddyrovers replied to Forever Blue's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Luton just looked so poor and I can't see them getting out of it which surprises me massively. -
cos they dug deep and took the points when on offer. Fin Smith's penalty from near the half time won England the game. Scotland were very good but missed crucial kicks at goal
