  1. Defenders go for alot of money just as much as strikers. Look at Konsa who cost 15 mil for Villa a year after Brentford paid 5 mil for him. John Egan or Joe Worrall who I thought we should have gone for when we got promoted.
  2. I wouldn't ask Miller who for reasons that are clear.
  3. hear from where? I cant see any owners saying we cant see a defender or keeper for cash
  4. well you could have said that about Farke or Wagner before they got jobs in the championship and both clubs got promoted to the Premier League. I believe we some bring through our good youth players like Rankin Costello and Butterworth being the next 2 to bring through. I fell out of love with Rovers/football when Coyle was our manager but watching the under 23's under Johnson and Dunn kept me believing and having faith in this club that I have supported all my life and I couldn't support any other team in the world.
  5. His coaching ability, his under 23's record, he would bring through our good youth players.
  6. All depends who decide the next manager. Adkins would be decent shout. Still Johnson would be our best bet imo
  7. Looking forward to the 2 test series in New Zealand and the test series in South Africa..
  8. that was well before the Coyle situation. I will say that I wish we moved for Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill. Got Stoke back to basics yesterday and play McClean and Ince in the correct positions and bought Ryan Woods back into the team
  9. Did we only play with 10? Frebbie from West Ham was Tony Gale. We signed Jeff Kenna that season
  10. It was rumoured for a few weeks before hand that Rovers was looking to sack Bowyer and if I remember correctly the 4 man shortlist was Paul Lambert, Nigel Pearson, Ian Holloway and Jokanovic.. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/blackburn-want-former-watford-boss-6807462
  11. Lambert was my choice to replace Bowyer. Irvine and Rob Kelly were good coaches Rob Kelly is now coaching in Sweden at Malmo with Uwe Rosler who I would imagine would applied for the job here if it was available. Bowyer was my choice at the end of that season for the job. Coyle deffo not. after he was sacked I didn't have a clue who we would employ next Wanted Holloway as manager when Berg was appointed and I believe Holloway would have got us up that season. I will never understand why Shebby and Shaw didn't appoint him or why Shebby walked out on that meeting. Shebby was going to appoint Billy McKinlay at one point on Gerry Armstrong's recommendation
  12. Yes Rothwell was excellent LAST SEASON! But not this season. Whenever he been on the pitch he hasn't impressed simple as whether it been 15 or 20 mins or starting games it all matters. but at the end of day we need to sorted the defence out 1st
  13. Whenever he has played he hasn't played well enough or an impact on the game apart from Sheff Wed game he had impact. I am big fan of us but this season he hasn't been the same as last season. I think he would be better in 3 man centre midfield similar to James Maddison role at Leicester
  14. I'm don't know who are first choices were for the positions Ive mention before apart from we went for 2 foreign targets for keeper spot and we missed out on both for different reasons. Karl Darlow was a target but his wages demands was too high as Steve Waggott told the fans forum this was the case. We need a centre back in the mould of Jansson and failure to get this has cost us big time
  15. Yes teams do know this and they push up higher and crowd the centre of the pitch. The form of our wide players in Armstrong, Rothwell, etc hasn't been good enough.
  16. Pardew isn't a joke, he was in the recent poll done on here. I would go for Damien Johnson as head coach with a good number 2 and appoint a sporting director like Steve Walsh or Tony Henry. My other choices would be Nigel Pearson, Gareth Ainsworth. Wouldn't be against an overseas head coach in the right set up.
  17. We played for 1 and half game. That's it!!! Dack was man marked against Cardiff, Sheffield Wednesday. Plus teams are pushing up higher at times against us. I would have took Dack off against Sheffield Wednesday tbh. No impact and Hutchinson man marked him second half.
  18. I don't feel we could get Lee Bowyer realistic tbh but with his contract being up in the summer and the owner wanted out still and massive uncertainly over that. We could possible get him Did I not mention that Ainsworth team this season have kept 9 clean sheets. Hughton aint coming here this season. He might well change his mind after a season of not being a manager. We don't pay big wages manager wise simple as. Hughton HAS turned down Stoke City job twice and Sheffield Wednesday in the summer. Realistic options are someone like Nigel Pearson, Alan Pardew, Damien Johnson, Nigel Adkins, Chris Coleman, Ian Holloway, Aitor Karanka, Carlos Carvalhal
  19. Dack drop deeper cos teams have worked us out so either man marked Dack or push up the pitch higher than usual. Most managers are too stubborn if their philosophies. Its very easy for us to comment as its not our job or on the line Ive not over the signings Mowbray made or should have made over the past summer as we know what we all think
  20. You make many good points in your post. if me and you were to pick our team for the Barnsley game I would imagine we would pick about 7 or 8 players the same. Possible a different formation aswell. IMO, Mowbray wants to play either 4-2-3-1 or 3-4-2-1 formation wise. I feel that sometimes he is looking to over complicant things at times instead of keeping it simple and stick with it for few games. One of my biggest criticism of him is failing to sign a leader at the back, experience right back and keeper. We didn't know loads of signings but mostly defensively signings we need, I have posted a number of different managers suggestions in a past few weeks. what do you think of those suggestions
  21. Wouldn't Sheffield Wednesday and Stoke City offer much bigger wages than us and he still turned them down. He still thinks he a PL manager. His signings at Brighton in the last 12/18 signings wasn't good enough. I would guess we pay about 500-600k for manager wise. So I cant see them paying them more. In my opinion we can attract a good manager. I have given a number of different options over the last few days/weeks. I have been very vocal about the structure changes I like to see at the club and us move towards sporting director/head coach structure but all this depends on the owners and board to discuss and decide. I would feel that any overseas coach we might look employ would want this system employed at the club as this what they are used to working in and not involved in scouting or club structure matters.
  22. Well Atkins did say this. I decided to listen to BBC Lancs cos Atkins was on there commentating on Rovers. I enjoyed listening to him when on. Yes Atkins and Sherwood did that. Always enjoyed them 2 in the team. I do think Travis come get forward more and score more goals. Evans in Northern Ireland shirt is a different player to one in a Rovers shirt. We can debate different systems all we want but we need to.play a way and system that suits the players. I listened to Pulis on last night football league talking about this issue and playing a formation that suits the players. I wonder how he play formation wise and players wise.. Same here. We missed out on signings we needed this season and last season..
  23. Well I look at his performances for Northern Ireland are miles better than Rovers No need for that. The players Ive mention were getable. Jansson cos the same fee as Gallagher. Byram was 500k and Pantilimon wouldnt have cost alot fee wise. Mowbray mess up this summer transfer business with his failure to sign a leader at centre back, right back and experience keeper. That lands at his door not the owners or club door. If he had done and we better defensively, more solid and picking up clean sheets.
  24. Wrong I havent just suggested him cos hes a Blackburn Rovers fan but of the job he has done at Wycombe. 2 promotions, very limited budget, his team has kept 9 clean sheets this season in the league( i think). Barton has no promotion on his CV. There is no modern day Souness type as football has move on from those days now. I wouldnt have mind Michael O'Neill here tbh. Always impressed me with Northern Ireland, will sort defence out. Ive mention Damien Johnson and Nigel Pearson as possible replacement for Mowbray. Lee Bowyer could be option if we could get him. Believe his contract runs out in summer
