  1. Huth hasnt played a league game all season and Collins wages would be far too much for me. We already got some old pros in the squad like Graham, Conway, Whittingham and Mulgrew.
  2. think Rowett would be good appointment for Stoke. huge rebuilding job there I don't feel McCarthy would be the right fit for Derby. someone like Paul Hurst would be better choice IMO.
  3. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/16238274.Tony_Mowbray_wants_Rovers_to_be__a_player__in_the_Championship/ From the article Having won promotion back to the Championship at the first attempt, Mowbray says those players will get a fair crack of the whip next season, despite eyeing new faces over the course of the season. But those arrivals won’t be coming to Ewood Park on large salaries, with the boss keen to maintain the positive team spirit within the dressing room which served them well in 2017/18. Taking a long-term view on the situation, Mowbray added: “This group of players deserve respect as well, I don’t think it’s right to go out there and bring in superstar footballers on treble the money the players we’ve got are on. “That would be the wrong thing to do. “We need to build it and if we can be successful next year then we can reward the current crop of players who would be doing well if we’re successful to try and build it bit by bit if we can.”
  4. Isnt he 34 years old? Doesnt strike me as Mowbray type player tbh Mulgrew doesnt have the fitness for the holding midfielder role. Dont know ppl keep mention it for.
  5. we will see. Maybe he look for bigger club in the Premier league or Germany
  6. Bjelland played 34 games last season for Brentford. Who is Onuachu? I dont see us signing alot of foriegn players. Think he keep looking at British players
  7. I wonder if Mowbray will look at Hoilett from Cardiff. Out of contract this summer I believe.
  8. They did sell Vaughan to Sunderland tho. Lee Clark must have convince that to spend money in the hope of promotion. I thought looking at their squad they would challenge for playoffs
  9. so funny lad. Your post is full of lies after lies was there all last season without missing a single home league game. so don't start making accusations when you don't have a clue.
  10. I will agree to that oldgregg86 Never said a draw to Oldham is a good result
  11. not sure we need with the players we got there and can play there. Travis played centre midfield for his league games, so hardly just that game at Ewood Roversfan99, so do be patronising.
  12. No need to throw your toys out of your Pram lad. I watched the Villa under 23's game where Travis played centre midfield. FACT!
  13. The Rovers website said Phil Jones was a defender but didnt stop Sam Allardyce and Steve Kean playing him in centre midfield did I? ? Ive seen him play in centre midfield for the under 23's under Johnson a few times. He has all the attritubes to be very good centre midfielder. Insult me all you want Stuart, not bother one bit me. I wont lower myself to that level anymore
  14. I think that game you are refer to was Oldham at home game. We were 2 nil down at half time. We went 3 at the back second half we scored 2 and draw the game 2-2. Bennett had a good game on the wing back and Travis in centre mid.
  15. Not at all Stuart. Travis has played in midfield in every league app. Fact! In the home league game against villa for under 23s he played in centre midfield. Fact!
  16. There is a shocker. 5 apps for first team in league. All in midfield.. The Villa under 23's game Travis was in centre midfield with Tomlinson and Hardcastle. Buckley and Evans were wing backs. I attend that game ?.
  17. simple question Stuart, where has Mowbray played Travis since coming into the 1st team squad? another very simple question, where did Travis played in the last home under 23's game against Villa which Villa won 1 nil somehow? wasn't it centre midfield with Tomlinson and Hardcastle? here is Travis transfermarkt profile which included where he has played for the under 23;s? http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lewis-travis/leistungsdaten/spieler/372802
  18. @roversfan99, if that's your response then why bother having a discussion?
  19. where has Mowbray played Travis in the first team this past season? oh yeah centre midfield every game. wonder why? That's where Mowbray see him playing long term. I wouldn't be loaning him out at all. get him in that 1st team squad in the last game for under 23's Travis played in centre midfield with Tomlinson and Hardcastle. Do you not go? I believe @Parsonblue has watched more under 23's games than anyone last season. I would probably loan out Nuttall and Tomlinson if they are going to play regular.
  20. what are the aims for QPR cos promotion for them has been unachievable last season
  21. I wouldn't be loaning Travis and possibly Wharton if we aren't going to another centre half. I see Travis has third/fourth choice centre midfield and someone who will be involve in lots of games. I think you are right about signings not being solely from that age bracket tho I expect most will be. will give pace and movement in terms of wingers we need. agree with all 3 posts Biz. would be very happy to finish top half next season who? I will watch the first half and see if they are any good then?
  22. I remember him as a player for Stoke and WBA which I mention for either job as he was a former player. looking and reading articles he seems impressive and fair play to him going overseas to be manager and coach. not an appointment I would have made. In don't understand the logic of appointing McClaren and sacking Holloway, but I don't understand why they sacked him. I would have for Gareth Ainsworth from Wycombe. thanks for the info.
  23. Dont know him at all. Only what ive read in newspapers online. No idea on how well hes done, his tactics, style of play or his management style
