  1. Anyways sick of this subject. Hope he does well here and if he does then great.
  2. We sold Armstrong after he was bang the goals in. And Brereton looks certain to be sold this summer
  3. Brentford had a proper model. We are scattergunning. We got slightly fortunate with Brereton having 1 good season. Armstrong money hasn't really been reinvested. Even Brentford got slightly fortunate to find the magic formula to gain promotion. Most trading clubs usually stagnate around the football league. Rovers aim should always be promotion because we are a premier league club and venkys owe us to take us back where they took us from. They are also wealthy they should be funding for better players. I don't think Brentford owners are billionaires
  4. But Mowbray signed these players and has wasted money that has left us in a position where our squad is now woefully short in every area bar maybe centreback. Brereton took 2 or 3 seasons to show some promise and Gallagher is as useless as ever
  5. So we sign him for 5 million then he has another good season. Then we sell him for 15 million the summer after we are back to square one. There's no building its just developing players then making a profit.
  6. Also add if he scores 30 goals then there will be bigger clubs in for him. Just because there's an option to buy doesn't mean to say he's obligated to sign for us. There will be interest from epl clubs or recently relegated clubs
  7. Because 5 million isn't something we can afford to throw away on one player. We are not Watford or Norwich with parachute payments
  8. Nobody is saying he won't be a good signing. If he's a good signing then great but he's never 5 million pounds worth of good signing
  9. What I mean is Premier league money in relation to us. We haven't really a pot to piss in yet we would gamble 5 million on a player that might not work out long term
  10. No he didn't he scored 23 goals in his first season. 26 in his second
  11. That would be more acceptable. 2 million up front. Then I would be up for that.
  12. Yes we are if we decide to make it permanent. If it works out rovers will pay it. If it doesn't its just another season wasted when there are strikers out there that could have made a better impact
  13. But the likes of toney were banging in 30 goals a season on more than one occasion. Plus he was their player. Leicester see hirst as surplus to requirements and are using this loan and contract thing to fleece rovers if we decide to pay it. The guy has no goals in the championship. He's not worth a gamble at 5 million but say we paid 2 million I would have no problem with that if he worked out in his loan
  14. Exactly. 2.5 million would have been a gamble worth taking if he had a good season but 5 million is Premier league money. That's money better spent on more areas of the team
  15. We have lost another season playing a player contributing nothing which could have gone to someone who is maybe proven at this level or higher. Think pukki who was brought In then helped Norwich to promotion
  16. 5 million will never be a bargain even if he has a good season at Rovers. There's no guarantee he will replicate that if we signed him permanently. His career suggests he's a league 1 player. Try before you buy is a good way to go but then we will be back to square one if he doesn't work out and that's another season wasted.
  17. Explain how clubs like Huddersfield Barnsley Luton etc had at least one playoff season? I highly doubt they had mega bucks. Mowbray couldn't even see us over the line when he was actually getting things right
  18. I hear if u say their names enough times a moggadon comes down and swoops in for a 6'4 useless manaquin
  19. Let's start a thread of potential signings or managerial appointments that we all got into hysteria over but never happened. I have two. Ronaldinho. This was at the beginning of venkys era. In the end it was all hot air from them. Also Harry redkapp. He apparently had talks with shebby but went away laughing when he heard the terms he was being offered
  20. Barkley would be a sensational signing but this is venkys so I doubt it will happen
  21. I think we should walk away if Leicester are asking him to sign a new deal just so they can request an extortionate fee at the end of the loan. If the player wants a move why not pay say 1.5 million now and he's ours. If he works out we have a bargain if not we could recoup the money by selling him at some point. I think it's arrogance from Leicester to think they can pull the pants down of little old Blackburn rovers. If the player wants to leave then usually they get their way
