Broughton is as responsible as Tomasson for the situation, the recruitment has been very poor.

It would appear that the identity that Tomasson wants does not suit the playing squad at present. Rather than playing to our strengths he's stubbornly sticking to a perceive style that many cannot achieve. If an influx of players suited to this style do not arrive, then results will drop, which will not be conducive to adding value to younger players.

The January Transfer Window is a chance for Tomasson to create an identity, and a style to mirror his ambitions. Anything less will inevitably lead to another death spiral of his own making. However recent results suggest it may have started.

Buckley, Dack and Markanday do not fit the requirements of the style Tomasson wants to play. All three have qualities, but generally off the ball they are lacking in what is required. A Tomasson comment a couple of weeks ,reiterated that some players have not grasped the requirements of his way of playing.

Remember him being dumped off the pitch at Burnden Park, the pitch was raised at this particular touchline and he struggled to climb back on the pitch.

It would have been more appropriate to cancel next weekends match rather than tomorrows.
