Love that Champman never changed his twitter profile. Still with Blackburn background and the bromance image with him and Dack

Agree on Martin. Has scored over 10 goals last 4 seasons in the Championship (20,18,14,10). In addition he is good focal point for attacks and can hold the ball up. Would expect him to be on big wages though and I think he has some years left on his contract. In addition he is 30 so not a long term replacement for Graham. A loan would be interesting.

Here you go: Trapp bid confirmed by Sky Sports: http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11676/11464999/columbus-crew-reject-bid-for-wil-trapp-from-blackburn-rovers Also here with quotes by manager and player himself: https://theathletic.com/462522/2018/08/07/blackburn-rovers-offer-crew-1-25-million-for-wil-trapp/?source=rss Bauer Charlton manager Bowyer quoted: “Obviously Blackburn keep coming in, but the situation hasn’t changed and it isn’t going to change. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/16401976.charlton-would-be-crazy-to-sell-rovers-target-bauer-bowyer/?ref=mac

So how do you explain the million pound bid for Trapp? More begging? We know there has been several bids for Bauer as well. These are the only ones we know about because their clubs made it public, most likely been more bids. Venky's has been awful owners, so it's comfortable to stay in that world view. The evidence however suggest that they've done right by Mowbray since he joined. No key players have been sold, in fact they have extended their contracts. Money has actually been spent the last two seasons on players. I get it's hard to believe when you have been burned though...
-
This is getting boring. Mowbray is even anwered today "Yes, definetly" when asked if their was money left. We have already spent 2.5 million, in addition there was 1.2 mill bid for Trapp after Armstrong signed. So the only way for not calling him a liar is implying that he might believe it, but you don't. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/16404344.money-available-to-strengthen-further-admits-rovers-boss/?ref=mac

Agreed. The way it is set up now has no effect. Mowbray has several times hinted about the loan/permanent option so I think his timescale for the 3-4 extra players are 31 August. Still expecting one or two to arrive Tomorrow though.
-
Mate, we can sign players untill 31 August. Doesn't have to be within deadline tomorrow. Clubs will just call it a loan with permanent transfer agreed at later date. Similar to the DJ Campbell deal.
-
A bit strange these transfer new rules. As long as you can loan to purchase in January, the window in effect closes 31 August. This means that this thread will go on for a few weeks more and we'll all waste a lot of time here...

An Assessment of Player Performance v Ipswich
briansol replied to tonyoz's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Very good and interesting! Seems accurate and captures Dacks performance who wasn't that involved but dangerous when he got on the ball. -
Just make sure if aiming for a tall CM that he is mobile like Nzonzi and not another Etuhu. I would settle for a Jermaine Jones myself. How he could cover ground fast, had drive and bite as well.

The Trapp offer is pretty interesting. What I like is that we're not limiting us to former players or Football League. Seems that the new scouting setup is starting to function. Also a clear indication that there is money left. I've previously suggested an expected budget of 3-5 millions. Seems now that it is at least around 5 which pretty good considering we haven't sold anybody. Don't know the player but seem to have decent pedigree and highly rated among his peers, including Thierre Henry: https://www.massivereport.com/2014/10/21/7028267/thierry-henry-gives-credit-to-columbus-crew-wil-trapp-for-victory The player also seems interested in the move based on his comments: http://www.dispatch.com/sports/20180807/crew-sc--english-team-makes-125-million-offer-for-wil-trapp

Agreed. We don't have any wide players who can take on a man. Also missing a two way winger like Conway was in his prime. Someone with pace and crosses who also can be relied on to track back. We got away a few times in League One with wingers/off mid not tracking back. That won't be the case in Championship, we will be countered to death.
-
To be fair Mowbray said at the beginning of the season that Chapman would probably need untill closer to Christmas to get used his responsibilties and demands before starting. He was just getting there when injury struck. He was clear regarding Payne that he would only be considered an impact player.
-
Incredible, Bruce has spent probably 70-80 mill pounds on 20 players his 20 months, plus loans. Now he claims he needs to rebuild again,
-
Interesting quote from Sharpe. While McGinn is probably a pipe dream there is obviously money as Sharpe reckons the 3 mill fee isn't an issue. Rovers would need to likely splash out in the region of £3m to land the 23-year-old, also in the final year of his contract, but they do have the money to spend.
-
Every link says loan.
-
Pretty sure it's a loan.
-
They had a decent attacking side with Edwards, Marriott and Maddison. However they were leaking goals for fun as well. Assuming Maddison leaves who haven't been involved in preseason they all have left. They have signed something like 15 new players so basicly a new team.
-
He also loaned Godfrey from Norwich who I like a lot plus Carlton Morris from the same club. Plus Henderson in goal was a loan player as well. A worry for me would be trying to rebuild the whole team in one go. At least we have a base to build from, Ipswich team seems pretty dismantled from previous seasons and also looks like their good left back Knudsen is on his way.
-
They will need to splash a lot of cash to get all their transfer targets, Kayden Jackson rated 2.5 mill by Accrington, Marcus Maddison 2.5, Jon Noland and Nsiala can't imagine Shrewsbury letting them go too cheap either. We will see. I don't think Maddison is a target for us though and never has been.
-
John Marquis from Doncaster must be our best options from lower leagues to replace Danny Graham. Suprised he hasn't gotten a Championship move yet. Good size, very mobile and can score with head and both feets. Got 26 goals when they got promoted to League 1, and got 15 last season. Impressed me when we played them.
-
From a scout report (Sunderland page) Brendan Rodgers: "the type of player you love as a manager" citing him as the "driving force" in the middle for Hibs, whilst lauding his passing ability and ability to get into the box. A very skillful central midfielder, he has great passing ability without losing any tenacity in the tackle - attributes Sunderland have lacked for quite some time.
-
I'd like to add Caddis too, but then we'll probably pay them an extra million to take him ?
-
I know the transfer window ends on Thursday, but am I correct in assuming that deals that not done by then can be structured as loans with buy at the end? Which means we can basicly buy players untill the end of the month
