  1. Too right we should be glad to be there, only reason Southampton aren't winning by more is that we are rough and dirty team Bloody commentators You can almost tell their disdain that we are on tv, our U21s have now been on Sky as many times as first team this season.
  2. Good showing, Southampton showing more as half went on but as we are quite a bit younger than them a very good first half. 5 of them I think could still play for u18
  3. Haha brilliant! Small world yadda yadda!
  4. Very good to hear as got my Sister's wedding there in August!
  5. When we won the league back in 1995 we had a presentation evening at Ewood where I remember huge queues to get in etc. Anyhow my main question is does anyone have any info on the game that night? Dalglish and Parkes played in it I think but can't remember that much as was only 7 at the time. Just curious about it after a few of us got talking today.
  6. This goal has always stuck with me, I swear I don't remember a louder chear for a goal than this and I was there for the VE day game and the Worthington Cup! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/1004976.stm I remember celebrating with a random guy next to me in the BBE who I'd sat next to for years and did so for a few years after yet that was the only time we acknowledged each other
  7. I don't know much about this lad to be honest but I do know that this back injury is not a concern in the eyes of the PNE physio team now
  8. I hope this abides by forum rules but if not feel free to get rid of it. Basically someone I know does a radio show for a student radio company, and he is trying to get more listeners so I said I'd put the word out. It isn't the slickest of shows but he likes to get the listeners involved and he plays a good range of music. So if you want something to listen to at work or home put him on. He is on tomorrow between 11-1 at this address: http://www.kicfm.com/shows/mark His normal show time is Monday's 12-2, I think tomorrow is going to be a relaxed show but it is good fun to listen to. Again sorry if this isn't allowed! But please do listen!
  9. Seen this week that a few ex Rovers kids have been released by clubs. Andreas Arestidou, Jake Simpson and Graham Coughlan have all been released by Shrewsbury. Whilst Tony Kane has been released by Carlisle. Jonathan Bateson was also released by Bradford.
  10. Fairly certain that isn't him, looks to have disappeared by all accounts really. Always remembered his celebration with his tongue slightly stuck out and his arm up. Think he scored in the Worthington Cup and then in the next game v Bolton didn't he?
  11. Can't believe no one has mentioned about Gunnar Nielsen our ex reserve keeper coming on for City tonight. First Faroe Irelander to play in the premier league
  12. For those that followed the youth a few years ago: Jerome Watt- Played for England at youth level him and Ciaran Donnelly were meant to be big things coming through, Watt is now playing for Bamber Bridge! Stuart Howson- Went to Northern Spirit in Australia on loan with Ben Burgess, now plays for Chorley!
  13. If McCarthy wants to play it like this then fine but Allardyce being as he is, isn't going to let him go because of it, fine if Benni doesn't turn up to training then we just fine him every time we can do for the maximum amount. Allardyce won't let this go lightly and if we don't get close to what we want then he can rot, end of the day he needs games and needs a club whether that is us or another club. He's done well for us granted but every time a club has become interested he has become a total cu*t!
  14. This would mean so much more if SSN hadn't just said he hadn't started since December! Apparently the Fulham game doesn't count???
  15. I went to The Sparling yesterday for lunch. Brilliant food, I only had a burger but it was huge and it came with chips and bits of salad also. Very good food and great atmosphere as well.
  16. As were many of Le Saux's goals. It was my first season of having a season ticket and that was the only home game I missed that season because I was ill, but got the game on video anyway
  17. In 94-95 Chettle o.g, Warhurst and Wilcox In 95-96 Shearer x3, Bohinen x2, Newell and Le Saux
  18. Keep on reading after the bold bit!! It says that Santa Cruz had to pull out so McCarthy played instead.
  19. It has a good reputation for teacher training and I wasn't too fussed about the nightlife a lot. But we do have some top quality nights here with what we've got. For a small place there are a fair few pubs also
  20. Aye I went there the other day with my missus. Absolutely awesome!! 3 courses for £15!! I currently live in Ambleside as I'm a student at uni there. Zefferelis is excellent also, vegetarian place but amazing. Dodds is a nice Italian restaurant and reasonable pricing. All the Lucy places are expensive but Lucy 4's which is a Tapas place is very good food and atmosphere. Lucy on a Plate I think the service is rubbish there. The Priest Hole is also very good. Anyone ever in Ambleside give us a shout!!
  21. Ince said in an interview before the game that Benni was struggling a bit with an injury, doesn't sound serious but still wasn't considered.
