  1. My take is putting us up for sale would be an admission that they made a mistake buying us in the first place. Currently, we are probably an immaterial item in their group financials together with that subsidiary that buys chicken feed or the other subsidiary that rents farming equipment that no one pays attention to. Out of sight, out of mind, no loss of face.
  2. Didn't you say last Jan that we are keeping the Wharton powder dry for the summer transfer window? What happened to the dry powder? Don't understand why you're just blindly ignoring the track record and being so adamant about it.
  3. Not exactly a transfer news but i love this line Being managed in the Premier League by Steve Kean could’ve counteracted any talent that came into the team at the time given how things went for the club during his tenure. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/robert-lewandowski-opens-up-on-2010-blackburn-rovers-transfer-bid/
  4. A bit of a side-track but the 2-3 loss in Mar 2023 was one of the more exciting games under JDT. We played fantastic that day and i really thought we were going to win until their 2nd goal went in. Devasting to lose after leading a stronger team and outplaying them for some long and i think the team lost momentum after that otherwise we would definitely have secured a play-off spot.
  5. Not exactly U21 topic but does anyone know if the tribunal fee for Rory Finneran has been fixed?
  6. You won't play against Gally cause he's in the treatment room. Having said that, what a pleasure watching a striker that gives me hope rather than despair everything the ball gets near him.
  7. Saw some arguments about whether we sold SS on the cheap earlier in the board. Does anyone know what is the record transfer for a 28/ 29 years old who has never played in the top flight?
  8. Tells you more about what the current ownership mindset is better than anything else. I wouldn't want to be an employee of theirs. Will most likely be asked to leave after working 30 years for them cause they can save a bit by hiring a fresh grad.
  9. This was not what you were saying in Jan. In Jan, you were going on about how we were keeping the Wharton money for the summer transfer window and how it's better to keep our powder dry than overspend. Nothing about FFP then.
  10. Actually, i feel it might be the only way round. We'll probably have a fire sale at relegation and our biggest cost factor, wages will be cut significantly and with further room for more cuts if we are not aiming for promotion. With the costs cut, even with reduced revenue, our cash burn rate might be reduced thus giving the V even less incentive to cut losses.
  11. Yes, we need a CM to sit in front of the defence. Better yet if it's some fresh legs.
  12. Last year, we were looking at the likes of O'Brien. This year, we're looking at an injured 35 years old....
  13. I remembered how frightening his pace was for defenders though his finishing was from the Jason Roberts kind. There was a cup game (think against Chelsea or Liverpool) where i remembered he was the most dangerous player on the pitch.
  14. Acknowledge the point about the loans but i think if we had better support from the owners we could have signed them after their loans. Same for making bigger offers for Nyambe, Lenihan, Rothwell, BBD and King. We could have made more efforts to keep them. I found 8m still low for Rhodes considering he was probably the deadliest striker outside the Premier League then. Did know he was desperate to leave.
  15. My 11 of those we should never have sold/ or sold for peanuts Formation: 3-5-2 (Since I can't think of any leftback) Raya Nyambe, Lenihan, Van Hecke, Marshall, Reed, Rothwell, Cairney, BBD Rhodes, Joshua King
  16. Because it works on football manager? 🤣
  17. For me, Ayala is our best player so far this season. Any ball that goes near him gets cleared and his reading and positioning have been top-notch. Let's hope he continues like this for the rest of the season!
  18. Nope, Jason Roberts has the worst first touch. Gallagher is a close second though.
  19. I know we have a very high wage to turnover ratio but can anyone enlighten me why this is so? I mean, we have a very small squad now and other than Dack, i cannot think of anyone else who could earning significantly more than the average championship player. If we talk about turnover, the crowd ban affected every other club equally last season and looking at the 2019/ 20 numbers, we still have bigger crowds than 1/3 of the league https://www.worldfootball.net/attendance/eng-championship-2019-2020/1/ so why are we so badly affected?
  20. Breaking news! Someone is taking a punt on Steve Kean! https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/sport/melbourne-victory-appoint-ex-blackburn-manager-kean-as-interim-head-coach-14652276
  21. My theory is that they are just a bunch of delusional people who still think they can sell for a profit one day. Just like people in the stock market refusing to cut loss as they think there is a possibility of the share price going up someday. They probably have some dodgy advisors who are telling them to try getting promotion on the cheap then sell out on a high.
  22. So was Jason Roberts, runs a lot....... like a headless chicken 😁
  23. LOL! Any links? Would love to read how that season pan out.
  24. Hey Mods, couldn't we set the lo-fi version as the default so that we won't get hordes of viewers jamming up the bandwith?
