  1. https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/transfer-news/peterborough-blackburn-rovers-transfer-pursuit-24596715 Wouldn’t want to share my innermost secrets with Barry Fry. He’s got a bigger mouth than the Thames Estuary. Doesn’t want to lose his best players but shopping them like Black Friday.
  2. Options for Diaz and us are narrowing. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/62264843
  3. Apology accepted. 😀 Thank you.
  4. Something new for a one year contract. Something strange there.
  5. Agree. Makeshift defence. Carter acquitted himself well. Vale looked nippy. Gallagher had a solid all-round game. Hope JDT can teach him how to finish some of his excellent runs. Ben woke up later and got more involved I think JDT wanted to a result which is why he didn’t switch things around earlier. Difficult to judge the subs We take the positives and move on 😉
  6. Blood some of our youngsters, play attractive football, sell Diaz for 15 million, mid table obscurity and plan more effectively for next season rather than blow the budget on knee jerk signings. I am OK with that.
  7. I had us at a big signing at page 188. Hope we don't get to 288 before out master plan reveals itself
  8. That closer gave me a chuckle. I believe it is called LOL in modern parlance
  9. Very interesting interview with “Coley.” More interested in discussing the second game than the first and calling out individual players. It sounds like he assumed he would win the first game 🤔
  10. It’s a friendly. Sign a few autographs, say hello to the fans.
  11. They wrote off around 10 million quid in transfer fees to keep three core players for the run in. It didn’t happen but you can imagine the comments on this board if we had sold Nyambe, Lenihan and Rothwell. Money grabbers, no interest in the Premier League. short termism. The manager and the players didn't match the owners’ ambition in spite of being offered substantial promotion bonuses.
  12. Thanks for that rigger. I thought the tree had fallen in the forest and nobody heard it 😉
  13. Agree, and the market for” free “is a lot more crowded. It was a strategic punt to get the man. We got him and I am sure JDT will get a tune out of him, especially if our top striker’s diaz are numbered.🥴
  14. Bigbrandjohn 2022/23 strategy 1 Sign or sell Brereton this month 2 sign 2 proven players and 2 with potential. Remainder loans. 3 Risk 3 of our academy in the squad. 4 Play attractive football 5 Embrace the errors that will be made as youngsters transition. 6 Target 1 or 2 signings in January window 7 Accept top 10 position in first year having won and lost with creativity and imagination. 8 JDT and DOF talk sense and humility not bollocks 8 Rinse and repeat.
  15. Thats how it works in life unfortunately. You have to leave a company to get a 30% increase. Otherwise it is a bobbins inflation increase.
  16. One thing that appears not to have been mentioned in the free transfer discussion. In the January transfer window we were in a solid play off position. Venkys decided to gamble on a good team pressing for promotion rather than cash in on three players in the window and maybe get rush replacements who take time to settle in. Markaday was brought in to strengthen the attack. It wasn’t a bad strategy. All hell would have broken loose if we had sold the players and then screwed up. We gave it a go, The manager screwed up, the players screwed up Venkys lost 10 million quid and Mowbray moved on. I am ready to move on. I know we won’t be pressing for the play offs. I am hoping things will be more exciting.
  17. I think we just have to draw a line in the sand and look forward. We have a whole new set up. This is undoubtedly a project, luckily not a Mowbray journey up and down windy roads. I am excited, that we have cleared the decks. We have a young manager and apparently a solid Director of Football who has made sound comments so far. Game on. No point in looking back unless you plan on going that way.
  18. “My agent said Middlesbrough were interested and the gaffer wants to get to the Premier League. "It is the same ambition as mine and he was very impressive with what he had to say. He knows the league, he's got promoted (before) and this club itself is a Premier League club. You look around the training ground, the stadium, it's a really good club and it has great ambition.” Odd comments. Maybe Mowbray told him Boro were more ambitious than us.
  19. Shearer, Duff, Keith Newton and Eamon Rogers for me. 🤔
  20. I wonder whether Nyambe’s injury problems were Mowbray related? New younger manager may influence, but methinks he fancies a pay day, or his agent does. Which may account for him pulling out of the Namibian games?
  21. Tomasson was known for his positional strength and fine finishing as a forward, despite his lack of notable pace or physicality.[2] He also drew praise from pundits and managers for his discipline in training, and for his work-rate and movement off the ball, as well as his ability to create space for his teammates with his runs.[6][38] A versatile player, he was capable of playing both as a striker and as a second striker.[39] Luvly.
