I saw Anathema on Tuesday night - great gig by a perpetually under-the-radar band I'm just getting into. They started as a Doom/Death Metal band before moving onto something a lot more epic and melodic on their third album and eventually ending up as sort of Radiohead like alt-rock act. Whatever you want to call them, its great stuff; very melancholy and uplifting. Also they closed with a cover of Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt, if you know what I mean. Which was nice. -
Very similar to Boumsong's free transfer to Rangers and swift £8m move to Newcastle. No doubt in my mind there was an agreement in place that he be moved on at the first available opportunity - Rangers make a tidy profit, Boumsong and his agent get two signing on fees and a move to a higher profile league after spending a few months slugging it out in the SPL.

Hmm. Not good news at all. Hopefully this won't end up being one of those injuries that runs on several weeks longer than initially diagnosed and eventually ends his season by the time he's match fit to play a top team game.

Pathetic and of course very indicative of modern day football. Also worth noting is the fact that Arsenal picked up an equally stroppy cow in the Cole exchange. I wonder how long we need to wait for the customary Gallas moaning about being played out of position?

Yeah, Steve actually played for the West Ham youth team in the 70s before jacking it in for the music. "These colours don't run" is actually what Bruce Dickinson shouted (he was holding a union jack at the time as they were playing "The Trooper") when they were being pelted with eggs and having their sound cut during last years Ozzfest at the behest of Sauron Osbourne. Quite an impassioned rant actually, I'll need to have a look for it on this here internets. The song's got nothing to do with the incident though. -
Sonic the Henchoz always was a favourite of mine. I can't see him getting in the team, but I'll allow my bias to cloud my judgment for a while.

Yes I'm really happy with the new album. Not catchy, but very colourful and introspective. These Colours Don't Run and Out of the Shadows in particular are incredible. Bruce can't quite shriek like he used to, but his vocals have taken on a new depth of emotion since his solo material in the late 90s, which adds to the appeal of thier current style. Seeing them again in Glasgow on December 15th. Can't wait. -

I guess that's not a bad ratio. Anyway, Peel loved Bolt Thrower so he was fine in my book. -
We got him for free actually. Which makes the deal all the more impressive. I really can't get my head around it. Did Hughes not want to left Shefki go, but Taylor reeeeally wanted him and offered us something as daft as £2.5m to prise him away? He doesn't really fit the mould of a player to intentionally pay over the odds for.

As I said, Lowe is nothing but a loud-mouth a sycophant. Whoever it is that he's interviewing currently is in the best band in the world for the duration of the conversation. The impression I get from him is that he is the exact opposite of a genuine music lover. -

I just wish people wouldn't refer to him as "Emo." What did the poor guy do to deserve that? -

Certainly from a motivational standpoint there are few in the game that can get players going like Keane. The problem has always been that he simply cannot see fault in a thing that he does. So when things aren't going well, it won't be down to his tactics or team selection - everything will fall at the feet of the players, and he won't be shy about telling the media that either. -

I remember Lucas playing a good run of games as a left back a couple of season ago and aquitting himself rather well. I can't remember for the life of me who was playing on the right at the time (certainly wasn't John Curtis). -

I thought it was pretty obvious I was having a go at that sycophantic moron Lowe rather than M.use (how many times do I need to say I think they've got some good songs?). Do you really think think he likes them that much? If so you can't have heard him say basically the same thing about anyone he ever interviews. He's such an arsekissing little toad. The very sight of him makes me feel ill. [/catharsis] Wow, easy tiger. Anyways, Iron Maiden's new album is out today. Woohoo! Anyone catch any of Slayer at Leeds/Reading? -
Terry's actions/reaction were very frustrating, but it was a definite foul even if the 'honest boy' was playing for it. Its a shame because they hadn't looked like getting a shot off until then - neither had we, of course, but I somehow think we'd have made do with a 0-0. The second goal was extremely disappointing and I can only hope Oojier will enjoy a more settled performance against the slightly less intimidating Sheff Utd forward line.

Brett certainly impressed me today as a full back (some his long passes were simply excellent), but we lose something in an attacking sense from Lucas Neill when he's playing on his weak side. Its a balancing act I suppose, both of them looked very steady today - its just a case of Sparky deciding whether losing something from Neill's game is justifed by the improvement in Emerton's. -

Yeah, sounds like something that clown would say. -
I believe you're thinking about the reconstructive surgery he dished out to Nicky Summerbee that basically killed any talk of an England call up.
-
Great news. I was starting to get worried with all the humming and hawing quotes attributed to Ryan. Now if only Neill would get his head out of his arse and realise he's onto a good thing here...

Virgin are punting a lot of Century Media releases for £5.99 just now. I've picked up 11 CDs from the same store in the last couple of weeks. -
