  1. Class!
  2. Today's LT, Kean states that Jensens sacking (so he was sacked) had nothing to do with him, but he does have the final word on his successor. So Venkys sacked Jensen behind Keans back? Kean knew nothing about it? How can any manager work in this way when members of your already small and inexperienced back room team are sacked by the owners? Despite Kean not having any say so on who leaves he does have the 'final word' on who comes in. That's quite a conflicting strategy. Then again it could just be that Kean is lying and hasn't the rocks to tell it how it is. How hard would it have been, how much gumption would it take to say something along the lines of "John's a great guy, I've really enjoyed working with him and he will go from strength to strength elsewhere, however I just feel that we need a change, results have not been good enough and whilst we all carry the can for that I just feel that I need something a little bit different". Of course that would contain some truth perhaps and that may not sit easy with Kean to say that. Then again it could just be that Kean blamed everything on Jensen when he spoke to the V's (surely not on the telephone? For a sacking? Surely that warrants a ride on a plane?!) to buy everyone more time before we get to the next transfer window and pay some more outrageous Agents fees, for some reason or other.
  3. No mate, no ones laughing. It's bloody depressing. They should both have gone. There's no excuse. None whatsoever other than the fact we have idiot owners. And if they're not idiots then they need to explain themselves, that would be a spiffing idea. The silence is deafening. If not sacked then Jensen would have spoken by now surely? Paid for his silence maybe? A N Other no doubt. Good job we have billionaire owners ain't it? Meanwhile linking our vacant asst managers post with a character from Viz makes perfect sense.
  4. Prior is the only one I can think of who would give Kean a run for his money. I'm confident that Venkys will be trying to contact him as we speak. Maybe he's on Kentaros books? Now that would be ironic.
  5. I doubt either are daft enough but I'll plump for Walter as he was mentioned on here the other day by that Preston chap. Irvine is just back at Everton with the Youth.
  6. The name I heard was Aldridge Prior.
  7. £6.75 Million to pay him up. Good work West Ham.
  8. RIP Ronnie. It's a very sad day. You couldn't have wished to meet a nicer bloke.
  9. It's been a while but was the third Prenton Park - Tranmere?
  10. Here's a blast from the past that you may not have heard for a while. If ever come to think of it. Dug it out cause of a bloke in the pub yesterday. And here's their tribute to Peter Crouch. . .
  11. 'Head tickets booked. Day off booked. Sorted. First time they've played KGH since 1984. They were so ridiculously loud I had ringing in my ears for a week. I'll ignore that GAV. Everyone likes the Ace of Spades and they all sound the same anyway. Elsewhere... The Charlatans at Blackpool Empress Ballroom. Saturday 15th May. Playing their first album Some Friendly in full. 20 years since that was released. I saw them at KGH an all - 1990.
  12. It would be rude not to - with it being a Friday as well.
  13. Blackburn King Georges Hall. Friday 12th November. Delighted!
  14. JAL - perhaps if Benni could turn up fit and not over weight for training then I might have a bit of sympathy. Admittedly I'm unsure what pittance we're paying him but I'll guess it's over one and a half million pounds a year for not turning up in peak condition to do his job properly. People talk about unrest in the camp. Good grief - one of the highest paid players at the club (presumably) can't even get himself match fit or turn up for training. What sort of message does that send out? It's a miracle we're going to get any money for him at all if you ask me.
  15. How has he screwed up philip? The guy has gone AWOL and now has now gone public. He has stated he will never play for the club again. What is Sam supposed to do? Perhaps up his wages in an attempt to get him fit? No doubt they'll be a few on the BBE on Wednesday singing "Benni McCarthy" as he screws us not only for his wages but also reduces the chances of getting a good fee to sign a replacement. All this in World Cup year as well. Nasty Sam not playing Benni all the time so he can lose some weight. Lifes a bitch ain't it.
  16. What do you mean Bomber was terrible? They all sound the same anyway! Oh well, I thought they were better this year than last. I'm not having that Glasgow door way thing - there's no way he can just sneak off like that.
  17. The Charlatans at Crewe tomorrow. Should be great. The smaller the venue and all that... Whilst we're on about bands that no one likes anymore (or ever did) we (the breadknife and I) took in Motorhead, The Damned and Girlschool at the Manc Apollo 4 weeks ago. Absolutely top notch.
  18. Benni on his own fitness
  19. You've done me there. I don't know why he doesn't play the unfit, immobile, shadow of his former self every week. Still, he has a chance to play in the World Cup now so maybe he'll sort himself out. Which will be good of him.
  20. Have I missed something here? Has Benni not been over weight for the past season or so? Didn't he admit as much, that he "took his eye of the ball" etc So what do we have now then. We lose at Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal and the end of the world is nigh. Let's bring back Benni who in recent times has ahown as much enthusiasm for the game as a heavily pregnant sloth. So kind of him to state that he now wants to move on after being unfit for so long and how coincidental that this new wave of enthusiasm for the game comes as the South Africa boss is sacked. Someone's taking the proverbial.
  21. He can't still be hungry surely?
  22. One of the most orignal, brilliant and yet quite daft bands that I have known have reformed. Faith No More. Well, I care a lot anyway. They are headlining one of the nights at this years Download.
  23. Surely you should be at the Manchester Apollo tomorrow night Tris? GIMME SOME MOTORHEAD!!!
