"The Evil One" as well? Any mention of him taking his DeanoCards and our having to return to using Season Ticket books? Couldn't be happier. -

He'll do OK up there for a few months. Weed out the trouble makers (like we don't know who they are already - c'mon Sir Bobby you should have known better) and steady the ship. The real fun will start when he gets a few bob to spend. Not a ruddy clue. I've read on here that he'll be back for our star signings. Neill? Tugay? Ferguson? Amo? Stead? - Can't see it at all. The back room team have gone with him if reports are to be believed. That's Murray and Boersma. Schmashhhing. I expect they'll be helping Graeme whip the bad boys into line up at the Toon. Surprisingly no place for the Lord of Darkness himself - Mr Saunders? Wonder why that was? Had an opinion or two? I'll not mention Mr Parkes "demotion". After all, he hasn't. Of course it paints a bad picture of our former manager. What do you expect? I'm a Blackburn Rovers Supporter - I do exactly what it says on the tin (see also the top left hand corner of this page). I liked Souness. Promotion and a Cup. There aren't many who get that in a lifetime of watching their team. I wanted him to get it right. He talked a good game. BUT even I got fed up with hearing about the rub of the green, lady luck, the referee, injuries, lady luck, the referee, just not our day, the fourth official and lady luck. Enough. Thank you Fat Freddie - saved us some money in all probability - in fact you've actually given us some money. How kind of you. As for us. Let's have someone who is tactically astute. Who isn't afraid to attack when at home (The West Brom game did it for me). Let's even push the boat out and play with two wingers - let them worry about us. Let's attack - let them worry about coming to Ewood - and not the other way around. For those of you going to Newcastle on Saturday - do us proud. We love this club. I don't think they're quite so keen up there about their own at the moment. Rub it in a bit. Oh to be able to run off to a big club eh? They have all the money and all the answers. And despite all that I'd buy him a pint tomorrow if I met him (Same as you C. Sidders) - it would probably turn into a bottle of red wine though, and rightly so. I'd have quite a few questions for him. Keep The Faith . -
You're just saying that for Jan aren't you?

Newcastle get Souness, Boersma, Murray, Saunders and Disappointed? -
He's not trying to take credit for those as well is he? Everyone knows they were Alan Murray's doing. Talking of which... I wonder how long it'll be before Souness comes calling for Boersma, Murray and maybe even The Deano himself.
-
True, true. Can barely move without knocking a few over. Available without compensation, too! All I'm saying is that I've just seen Paul Sturrock and rover6 walking towards Ewood. Draw your own conclusions. I have. It's got to be Gordon Strachan.

Totally agree - perhaps it's time for a couple of Polls? (as Lech Walensa often said to me "You can't beat a good Poll"). One for "Who Do You Want As Next Manager of BRFC?" and another "Who else other than Gerald "Sodding" Houllier DON'T you want as manager of BRFC?" -

Question for the Mods. I didn't think it was possible to register more than once on this Web site. It appears that one individual has now registered FIVE times!! Pack it in Lucas!

Brilliant. Thanks Ian.

So that was a "No" then Jan?

For one Bobf mi old mucka - we would stop having these discussions over and over again. Well there is that. Perhaps it isn't that black and white though Capt. Perhaps Souness and the club do actually believe that if he gets a run of games he'll eventually get back to his old self - unfortunately these are games that no one in The Premier League can afford to give a player. Perhaps they're not telling porkies at all? BTW - it was Taff - you can get 'em in vs Portsmouth. Get yourself down there at 3.05 - you should be OK for half time
-
Go on then Capt. What possible good would that do anyone? Matt has done a great deal for this football club. While the accident was extremely unfortunate and I'm sure he'll regret it for the rest of his life - our not announcing "He's finished, he'll never play again at the top level" is actually a decent thing to do. "Decent" you don't hear that very often. (Besides it might not be true) Most importantly - Those who want him out the club and off the wage bill, whether it be on loan or on a free transfer, would have to admit that Souness saying "He's finished I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole" isn't really a very clever thing to do (Although Steve Bruce might be tempted). If Souness and BRFC thought that there was a chance that Matt would return to his old self after the accident (and I'm sure I read somewhere that most people don't "fully" recover until 2 years afterwards) then surely this was the only road to go down. However - he clearly isn't going to get a chance here. He's fifth in line for a start - he's not gonna get a game, unless The Plague strikes Brockhall (knowing Matt's luck though....). I'd get yourself to Preston Matt - more chance of getting a game there I'd have thought. It's the only way you'll find out whether or not you've still got it or not.

Lucas must be a member on here.

I wonder if the Yorkemiester will "let himself get disappointed with not starting" a match at Birmingham as well? I can't see him getting in ahead of Heskey and Fossell but I may be wrong - I mean I wouldn't have bought him anyway so what do I know what Steve "I'm losing my marbles, me" Bruce is thinking.

Beat me to it SDS - I can only presume that BRFCS.com website address isn't handed out in the Rovers induction pack -
Well after that fantastic piece from Four Lane Blue it's obvious to me who the best right back of all time for BRFC is. While we'd all like to vote for Lucas Neill ( ) surely there can only be one winner here, Bob Crompton.

Hughesy... Well that's that cleared up then. He's tall, he's quick ( ) and he's played and scored a few goals in Serie A (which isn't easy). I've got a bizarre idea - I'm going to wait until I see him play before deciding if he's any good or not -

Tremendous news. I'm very happy indeed. One thing - in the two years that he's been at Rovers what has he done to convince anyone to buy him? What has Steve Bruce seen in him to suggest that he should give him a contract? Sorry but I've just not seen it myself. Then again I sit on my arse in an office all day and Steve Bruce is a Professional Football Manager. He only had to ask me (I'd have lied BTW). Like I care Nice one Steve -

A bit like a poor horror filum though Bryan - where they say "Thank God that's all over - it / he / she's dead" only for it / he / she is still alive and there's another massive scare to come. We've been here too many times (well at least twice) when we've declared "Thank God he's gone". I'll believe it when I see it on Sky or on the Official Site - and even then I'm bolting the doors tonight. -

Ricky will have to do a lot better than that Did Portsmouth actually make an official bid? Anyway, Souness has given Yorkieo a second chance and let's be honest he hasn't taken it. Jogging around after his old team mates on Saturday said it all for me. Hopefully this'll go through and all will be well. I'd sooner see Gallagher and Jansen given the chance - Yorkester was only getting in the way of their progress IMO. Anyway - one side note for those that care about the SPL - this'll give Rangers a chance to catch Celtic now after the title looked all but won. Kamy - you've five more minutes and then I'm afraid you'll have to stop being silly and come back to reality. -
Matt needs to start going out night clubbing for a few weeks, not work hard in training, just generally go off the rails a bit, then when he's fooled everyone that he just doesn't care he should start trying his heart out again. Before you know it - Bingo!! He's our number one striker!
