  1. thomphil.. I'd quit while you're not ahead if I were you. Don't think they fund an academy either, just saying...
  2. Given the constantly moving goalposts he's having to work within, I'd say your opinion is wrong (imo of course). Now if you want to talk about Waggott..
  3. Sounds bizarre and completely unprofessional. Give me Broughton over Waggott any day of the week...
  4. As much as I abhor Coyle and love Berg the player I have to admit Berg the manager was a car crash. Appleton was a bore. I'd describe Lambert as being all fur coat and no knickers. Bowyer was okay, but as someone else said earlier, there's an argument he should have done better with the squad he had, at least before the fire-sale. Mowbray outstayed his welcome but I guess stabilised us. JDT - I like a lot but sadly, looks like we won't see him around long enough to complete the 'project'. 7. Berg 6. Coyle 5. Appleton 4. Lambert 3. Bowyer 2. Mowbray 1. JDT Appleton is lucky to make 5 and I'm surprised to see Mowbray make no. 2 but I see it more of an indictment of the quality elsewhere on the list.
  5. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/ranking-blackburn-rovers-last-7-managers-including-tomasson-from-worst-to-best-gary-bowyer-3rd/#gary-bowyer Interesting article. Still deciding my rankings but thought it might instigate a lively debate.
  6. No reason we can't get 3 points tonight and go 3 wins on the bounce. Obviously depends on which Rovers turns up though..
  7. Given what we've seen of JDT's tenure so far I think it's fair to say he doesn't lack ruthlessness when he feels it's required.
  8. Great result, mediocre performance. Started brightly and then became far too passive. The defence deserves credit as does Pears. Great goal by Hedges. That's just confirmed for je that I'd much rather keep him than Dolan. 7 points from 4 games is a decent start but we do look threadbare and definitely need 2 or 3 more in.
  9. Is that family reasons or "family reasons"...
  10. I'd go drawer personally. Keeps both clubs in touching distance.
  11. I understand your point but why should the club be liable for neanderthal like behaviour of fans? It feels like there's no personal accountability these days - pissing in carrier bags and throwing them downstairs tells you everything you need to know about these reprobates.
  12. Why the fuck would city give a permission increasing the strength of their opposition (not that they're beating Citeh anyhow), beggars belief. I'd also add it's their own fault for being too reliant on loanee's. Thankfully, we've gone the other way and, bar Morton & Thomas, the team which has got us to where we are is pretty much our own.
  13. To be honest Joe the performance from most of the starters was disappointing so not sure you can pick out Pickering. Having said that Brittain did make a difference when he came on. As a player I do like Brittain a lot , was just making the point that if you perform you keep the shirt. What that means for Sunday and the cup is now anyone's guess after the Stoke performance and JDT has some thinking to do when deciding which 11 start...
  14. No way you can drop Pickering after last few games though. Strong performances capped off with a goal.
  15. I thought you might say that but 1 aG a game works wonders when you're banging out loads of clean sheets (as we are at the minute)! Anyhow, good luck for the season starting after tonight....
  16. I appreciate xG is in fashion but the one I'm more into is aG (actual goals...) I believe xg doesn't actually guarantee the ball has gone in the back of the net? In fact an xg of 4.75 when a team ends a game goal-less suggests they couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo/ score in a brothel which would be of greater concern for me.....
  17. For sure - look how many clangers De Gea and Lloris make and they continue to be selected...
  18. It's funny you should mention this as I keep remembering the post from someone who said JDT wasn't an upgrade on Mowbray (don't worry, I can't remember who you are). I'd say he is a massive upgrade on Mike 'Mowbray' Bassett as we're now seeing how he wants us to play and the team putting it into practice and believing. We would never have played like we have recently under Mowbray, never.
  19. Agreed - he gives us something different. He seems to be really enjoying being here too - we need to try and sign him permanently...
  20. Brilliant team performance - Sheff Utd got what they deserved, fuck all. I have to say I thought Pickering had a cracking game and has probably reclaimed the shirt from Brittain for now. Good to have genuine competition though.
