As it stands- players we've expressed some form of interest in spending a small amount of coin on. Cantwell - Maybe but unlikely. Dembele - seemingly off to Swansea. John Yeboah- Off to Italy. Matondo - apparently staying put. Stansfield - no chance at £6m. Josh Bowler - probably been looked at but we can't compete transfer wise with PNE or Hull. Plus Forest hate us. Gustavo Puerta - off to Hull, loan to buy. Ryo Germain- looks like we dropped the idea to focus on above. Iversen - wages too high. Loans Travers- likely to go elsewhere. Rushworth - most likely option seeing as we haven't spun the Brighton loan tombola yet. Beck - seemingly signing.

I agree with the idea of loan to buy with a fee agreed....if there's any club willing/stupid enough to do that with Rovers. Or taking a top class talent that suddenly becomes available that we could never conceivably buy. Or bringing in an emergency 'stop gap' due to a rush of injuries in one position. All those options should be explored after you have signed your permanent players. I really hope there are some cash buys/ permanent lined up. We've been told 3/4 players in consistently by Eustace/Gestede. Those 3/4 should be permanent signings. 3 decent loans on top of that and we have real squad depth. I'll believe it when I see it. I think they will all be loans. We'll know by Saturday one way or the other.

Because over the last 2 years we were told several times by several different club members that we needed to sell to generate a transfer kitty. £41 million later and we are looking at predominantly loans and frees. The owners could commit half their 'usual' amount for running the club and we could still spend £8-10 million. But they haven't so we won't. We know they all lie. So that's probably why banking £41 million is mentioned a lot🤷🏻♂️

I think most were hoping for an improvement on Pickering not a back up. Pickering would be ok as a squad filler. We were told by Eustace that any signings need to be better than what we already have. We already had a young lad, who did ok in the SPL at left back. Yet we sold him to Barnsley. May as well just have kept Gent.

For all Eustace apparently didn't rate those players last season. He also wasn't keen on Gueye or Ohashi. If you'd told him on the last day of the season he'd lose Szmods and Gally to be replaced by those 2, I imagine he'd have been close to walking. (and yes I know Gally is shit and the 2 new lads look decent). The depth may look slightly stronger -mainly on the back of a fit Hedges and Siggy. Two players who most would consider pretty average and pretty injury prone. So depth wise we are clearly 1 or 2 short up front - especially given the lack of pace. Eustace coming out now saying he's happy with the attacking depth rings alarm bells re further incomings. Look at it this way. If we start with Gueye, Ohashi, Weiman up top and we are 1-0 down with 20 mins left. Who could we bring on that could impact the game? Dolan? Hedges?Siggy? Vale? Buckley?

Not sure injured players can be considered, as you are bound to get some long term injuries over the next few months. From last year in attacking areas - we have lost: Szmodic Gallagher Moran Markanday Telalovic and brought in Gueye Ohashi Mafoumbi Weimann Vale? Now I know that Ohashi, Gueye and Weiman have started well..but it doesn't scream squad depth to me. At best, numbers wise, it's the same.
