Odd one that. The fact we allegedly had a 'deal in place' and were waiting on Liverpool injuries clearing up. Only for the minute they clear up, for him to head straight off to Germany. Either Liverpool have been a bit naughty there..or we've had first refusal and said no...or it was all bollocks and we were never in for him 🤷🏻♂️

Anyone know what allocation we have for this? -
You would think that with a lot of teams using wing backs high up, that a traditional winger would have a field day with all that space and find himself up against a 6ft 4 CB trying to cover. I'd play genuine wingers all day long. I'd play them in the 4-2-3-1 role as well. Proper number 9 up top, Dack behind. Two quick wingers either flank. Playing on their strongest foot. Exciting to watch IMO.

I'd argue that a fit Ayala tops that list. Can't grumble that we haven't spent money and it's nice to see some much needed permanent signings (regardless of whether I rate them or not). Hoping we add some physicality/pace - as unlikely as that looks. I'd be wanting to loan out Dolan and Vale if poss and replace with better.

They won't do that consistently through the season. Buckley still can't do it and he's got 4 years on them. I believe they are good players and I agree with all the other positions. But asking 2 lads from the under 21s, with no league experience to consistently boss a midfield, turn games or see out games in the championship, isn't realistic.

What Broughton and JDT need to realise - and quickly is that the championship is a very physical and competitive league. It's not like Sweden or Norway where you might be able to play 4 or 5 young lads every week and get away with it. We have 2 or 3 potentially very good young players. They need drip feeding into the side over a season. We are expecting the expecting them to play 90 mins or change the game from the bench. Broughton saying we are happy with our midfield options with 2 19 year olds and an 18 yr old is one of the most stupid comments I've ever heard. This flexible 4 bollocks doesn't work. Certainly not with the players we have. The whole side lacks pace, height and physicality - they are basic requirements in the championship.
