Palmer needs to start just playing it simple, instead of going for a fancy flick or trick every time and inevitably giving it away. We've got them on the back foot here, keep it simple and we should come away with a good result.

I'd give Nuttall a couple of games of coming on ahead of Brerton and let them both know that it's now a fight to be 1st reserve to Graham. It'll hopefully give BB another reason to perform and reward Nutall for his good form in the U23s. If they're both knocking on the door, it can only be a good thing. Give him until the last week of the January window to try and win that fight. If he doesn't he can go out on loan to L1 and get some games / win a contract at a lower level, if he does though, it might just save us a few quid in January.

People talk about us being "a newly promoted side" and "overachieving" like we've spent the last 10 years in League 1 and are just finding our feet in the Championship. Most of this side were in the squad that narrowly slipped into League 1, briefly, on goal difference. Mostly because of Coyle's ineptness. We have loads of players with decent Championship experience and, apparently, the finances to compete in this League. So why shouldn't we be aiming for more than just bobbing around mid-table?

Beg your pardon? No one is at all. As that quote relates to my comment, I'll quantify it. There were a number of players on that starting eleven that have not performed well over the last few weeks and no one , including yourself no doubt, would've picked the likes of Conway or Williams to start. So yes, on current form, that side should've got pasted. We are all very very pleasantly surprised to see that it in fact did the pasting and we came away with a great result. Point scoring like that does you no favours, just enjoy the win

On paper that team should've got pasted. Fair play to them and Mowbray and his staff, they all showed that the team spirit, grit and determination is still there. Nice way to make up for the last 2 performances. Long may it continue!
