30 years ago today…

Only an empty stadium would force Suhail & Steve to have to go to the owners and admit there's a problem. But...that is simply never going to happen. It's not like boycotting Asda & shopping in Tesco - football is a drug. Many people will continue to go because of many & various social reasons/habit/loyalty BUT...there is little doubt that the "loyal rump" of season ticket holders is dwindling & more fans seem happier to go to away games. I've used the phrase "death of a thousand cuts" on many podcasts, that's where we are. Slowly, inexorably, drifting away from any credible aspiration to return to the Premier League. The life support machine remains plugged in...for now, but no surgical or medical plan has been agreed to restore full health.
