  5. Great post Scott...
  6. Funny you should say that...before we started recording I was explaining Radio Rovers to Darragh & Ryan & I said I was trying to recreate the “Wendy Howard insight into” type of piece but of course neither of them really had any experience of Wendy. Even to be mentioned in the same breath as Wendy will do me. ??
  7. Darragh was very easy to interview in fairness...open, engaging and amenable. I wish I’d had more time with Harrison, mature beyond his years and clearly well trained in media. I think it’s clear that our chat and my feedback inspired him to turn in today’s performance...?
  8. if I pull that one off I'll retire happy...?
  9. I just want to reiterate what I hope is blindingly obvious but even so, Rovers don't have to do this, the fact that we were invited & more by luck than anything else, were able to mobilise at short notice meant we were able to secure our first ever player interview...we hope it won't be the last and hopefully it gives us some credibility with former players who so far have resisted our siren song ?. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to the club and especially Ryan Grant who secured "Friend of the Pod" status last year by guesting on one of our early episodes and we hope to get him back before Christmas on another. Thanks to "The Player" - no spoiler alert - for being so eloquent, so affable and so open with us in the 121 & for the "other player" who demonstrated excellent media skills. We hope you enjoy it...not sure how we improve on this if I'm being honest but we'll keep on trying....because that's what we do...?
  10. In this historic 100th episode, BRFCS is invited through the hallowed portals of the Rovers Senior training Centre at Brockhall. We share what we can in this landmark podcast. Big thanks to Ryan Grant & all at BRFC of course for offering us this amazing opportunity. I'm not sure how we improve on this so if it's the last ever episode, it's been great....* *only joking, 101 is already scheduled... We hope you enjoy this window into our favourite club. 11. Conned by their own executive ? ? https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/16696311.stanley-owner-hits-out-at-efl-over-streaming-service/
  12. Andy Holt (Accy Stanley) said on his Twitter feed something to the effect that it wasn’t explicitly stated as granting permission, rather that the full implications weren’t debated and now that those implications are understood there are a number of owners unhappy with the EFL.
  13. I suspect the challenge will be driven by commercial imperative. Say Sky think they can raise subscription prices by offering it they will. The 3pm blackout isn’t a law as such it’s a best practice guideline so very difficult to enforce. Eleven have clearly taken shrewd legal advice and opened a can of worms. As always, the biggest clubs have most to gain financially and so it will almost certainly happen at some juncture.
  14. Worth registering for the free articles to read this https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/8250759e-d17b-11e8-b8d4-d6fb90acb7b1
  15. The issue is that without the blackout, Sky &/or iFollow can offer TV options on a Saturday afternoon, so the choice isn’t Rovers or Barcelona/Real Madrid....it’s Rovers in the flesh or Rovers on TV. At the last international break, L1 & L2 games on a Saturday were televised on iFollow. Andy Holt at Stanley had Burton fans Tweeting him saying they were now gonna watch on TV. So Stanley would lose out on ticket sales plus - and here’s the interesting bit - Burton got the money from iFollow for selling the TV packages....so we’ll supported clubs who bring large away followings (Leeds) can make money from away games...not the home team. Holt likened it to hosting a party where the guests sell tickets and keep the proceeds without contributing to the costs of hosting. Rovers should be concerned about this IMHO.
  16. Sky Go doesn’t show Red Button but there is a separate Sky Sports app which does offer those games
  17. Has everyone seen the challenge of the 3pm blackout rules by Eleven Sports ? http://www.sportspromedia.com/news/eleven-sports-uk-blackout This could open the door for Saturday 3pm iFollow / Sky red button options...TV season tickets ? ? What would also be interesting is the numbers of people who have a mechanism to watch Saturday 3pm fixtures already....
