  1. A second update and still no refund option
  2. I can’t remember our best team Can someone remind me what I usually moan about it’s been a while
  3. I went past Ewood around 3pm on Saturday and it occurred to me how bizarre it is that next week there will be a league game taking place with nobody around. Imagine a few fans will head down to their teams grounds on match days, there’s no chance scousers will stay away from their title* celebrations
  4. Got an email to say they wanted to clarify the position based on queries, no new info though and the FAQ has a question around people without internet but it doesn’t really answer it We understand that this solution will not be ideal for all supporters’ circumstances and appreciate your patience at this time. This has been an unprecedented and difficult challenge to balance the survival of the club and ensuring our supporters receive the best value and experience possible in the circumstances.
  5. Probably a good thing we got put through the ringer, the goals displayed some shocking defending and goalkeeping!
  6. Legally they will have to provide a refund I’m sure, it’s certainly not advertised though
  7. It’s like a reverse Statler and Waldorf! This is awful Well it isn’t so bad what else could they do? Yeah this is ok I LOVE IT!
  8. I should preface this by saying I don’t have a huge vested interest as my dad bought mine and my sons season tickets this year: Having said that I think there should have been more options set out to be accessible to people and less guilt for those needing or simply preferring a refund I would gather most of the games will end up on the red button as a lot won’t be Saturday 3pm games so would have access to those anyway if you have sky. Plus you may not be able to watch all the games. Then consider that in some households there will be 4-5 season ticket holders, that partial refund and the money already paid to the club isn’t insignificant to them and they are paying far more for the privilege of having the same stream as someone with a single season ticket. If I was in that scenario I would think it doesn’t seem quite fair
  9. Look at this puppy. This isn’t a regular puppy, this is Steve Waggott’s puppy. If refunds are paid out then a decision will have to be made to either keep the lights on at the club or feed the puppy. Look at the Puppy. Make the right choice! Ps the puppy is called Tugay Kermidoglu
  10. Funnily enough Lambert and Ipswich aren’t too happy with the decision Oh well
  11. shame for Bolton I think they would have survived without this, they were just about to go on a huge win streak. Also gutted for Sunderland. Sad times...... Joking aside it seems amazingly folly, imagine they did the same in the Championship, we would have missed the play offs by one win, sure we would have approach that last game slightly differently knowing it was last chance. Not saying there was a better way but it would still be a tough one to take
  12. I know nothing about him other than he’s second choice at Rangers in the pub league but I see Wes Foderingham is out of contract Sure I recall us being linked with him a year ago will be interesting to see if we go back in as back up / competition
  13. Interesting that our mates down the road had 3 options, use the credit to next season, get a partial refund or donate the money to the club to be used for the youth team Personally think it’s a disgrace that a premier league club could even consider asking fans to do that, then again this is the club that wanted free labour from their fans instead of paying stewards
  14. It’s an interesting one with Bennett testing positive, at the start of lockdown it would have resulted in a fair few people self isolating but now it seems only those with a positive test need to Say it did spread through 4-5 squad members who then all need to isolate and miss training it seems the playing field isn’t level anymore. The season either way will have an asterisk next to it however it plays out because some teams have been granted by chance an unfair advantage, some will finish the season avoiding some awkward away fixtures whilst some will have played more home games than away and vice versa
  15. I don’t believe this 88 seconds thing to be accurate, how can it be? Lets take Bradley Dack as an example, he gets man marked in most games, now imagine a game has 3 corners for Rovers at a low estimate, each one probably takes 30 seconds where there will be 15-18 men in the box standing their ground then jostling for position; then there’s a man on him every goal kick, throw in and free kick. 88 seconds my ass!
  16. Warmed to Deeney when he was asked about if he felt pressure taking a penalty, he responded that when he was young his mum was a single parent working 2 jobs to put food on the table, not a well payed footballer kicking a ball! His attitude is spot on, football isn’t as important as sometimes made out, no matter how much people may like the Shankly quote
  17. It’s because Vince McMahon is a madman, I actually quite like that they’ve embraced it and gone all out crazy with some of the stuff they’ve done Lets do that with the footy, instead of games in stadiums have them in random places, down Pleasy, that shitty pitch up in the woods maybe or up at Blacksnape
  18. Apparently the guidelines the league will put to captains tomorrow is to ‘turn your face away if you get tackled’ and that players will only be close enough to be in a contamination zone for an average of 88 seconds per game Absolute bollocks, a corner must take 30 seconds easily, you have 15 or men jostling for position in the box 5-10 times a game alone never mind any marking the rest of the time. If we get this kind of game it’s just going to be exhibition stuff with players going through the motions, not football! Just scrap it and review again when things are clearer
  19. Be interesting to see who pays back the broadcasters if the season is voided, I presume that would be on the Premier League? After all the consumer expects not to pay for the football that isn’t happening so Sky and BT would expect the same. Whatever route we go down there’s years worth’s of legal battles after this.
  20. Totally fair point I was just thinking through who we have to build a team around and who we may struggle to retain over time Having said that we can be as big time as we want if we ain’t in the Premier League there’s an obvious step players want to make
  21. Self explanatory really, not a particularly joyful subject but it’s a matter of fact that real talent want to play at the top. Out of the current lot who do you think will be the next to get a big money move? For me it’s Travis, think he has the talent and the mentality to match, can see him ending up at Everton or similar. Arguments could be made for Dack but I think his injury may have cost him the chance in January, Lenihan has the tools to succeed and Nyambe is a beast in terms of physical attributes. Hope Rovers are protected here as they could all attract big fees in the right circumstances
  22. I remember around the horrible Kean days a couple of young lads had been promoted to the senior squad and a highly thought of. One was Zac Aley; was on the bench at old Trafford, got released and went onto semi pro level I think. The other met a similar fate, Robbie Cotton, had bags of talent but apparently a Terrible attitude. Jemal Johnson was an earlier one I had high hopes for and there was a striker a little before who seemed to be banging them in for years in the reserves but never made the cut Amazing how many young lads get to the cusp of breaking through and it goes to their heads and all goes to pot
  23. Seems that the top 6 in the prem are battling to finish the season whilst the bottom half want to cancel it No doubt the big boys will get their way
  24. I predict we’ll see a test run in June, behind closed door friendly filmed for TV with all the same sort of logistics before we see the start of the season
  25. If it means next season is more likely to happen then I’m leaning towards agreeing with scrapping this season, the bonus of Liverpool not winning the title also helps. I think especially because it’s Liverpool though all stops will be pulled out to ensure they have officially won it
