  1. I wonder if the kit is still on the roof from Umbro’s genius reveal campaign last season
  2. It’s weird I went to the ewood concourse sale a couple of weeks back and when I was paying heard a chap (who I believe to be Warren Lucy going off his voice) talking to the retail manager saying he’d seen something in the flesh and it was majestic. I assumed he was referring to the kit and a teaser or reveal was imminent but nothing since
  3. At least theirs looks like a Sheffield Wednesday kit though
  4. They said a week or two back that they are wearing a temporary kit today
  5. My main interest in this game is seeing this kit that never will be!
  6. I’d love for us to be creative with the community stuff; the recent Eid community thing was a great idea. Would be good to see the club trying to bring the differing cultures together somehow
  7. I can’t see any removed posts in the last few pages? The lads not protected at all although it does feel some people are too quick to jump on anything he posts
  8. Aren’t you both saying the same thing? First £1.75m is ‘tax free’ we get that in full Anything above is ‘Toon Taxed’ at 40% So £10m - £1.75m = £8.25m £8.25m x 60% = £4.95m £4.95m + £1.75m = £6.7m to Rovers I may be reading wrong but feels you are arguing with someone saying the same
  9. Ah yes because of course Mr Nixon is far more concerned with the club making a signing than he is breaking the story Literally such a vague tweet which he can then circle back to the next (first) genuine target with an ‘Aye’
  10. Interesting reply to one tweet about this A name some may be familiar with
  11. On the discussion a couple of pages back, I asked my dad at weekend if he fancied renewing, he said he’d wait to see what the prices were. Wasn’t aware they’d been released, a season ticket holder of decades, even in the digital age we should be sure that every potential customer is reached
  12. I think we’ll likely see it on Thursday or at least some hints at it The Umbro deal ends Wednesday
  13. There’s a sale on the concourse with some great prices on the outgoing umbro stock Got quite a lot for the lad including last seasons away kit for £5 and a rain jacket for a £5 and a walkout top for myself They have some match worn bench jackets for £15, you can even get Ben Bensons
  14. I had a similar comment in response to me about the ‘Rovers Boo Boys’ I said I thought the ewood fans had been patient with him to the extent he’s had quite an easy ride compared to Gallagher etc I remember talk of people giving him grief at Birmingham away (people suggested he was in tears when he came off) but there’s barely been a peep of discontent at home if anything it leant into slightly patronising over praise for simple things.
  15. Superb assist he dragged the defender right out of position then was on the wavelength to flick the 1-2 round the corner into the space he just created
  16. He’s looking like a complete forward here
  17. LT confirmed details are coming out today
  18. Pleased he’s gone but wish him well, gave his all but not been good enough for a long while. Not quite sure why we were in discussions to retain him
  19. Stockport have sold 2000 season tickets already - they are non league
  20. I just love this whole scenario it just makes me smile, I’ve never been overly convinced even when he plays well he seems to rarely make true contact but he’s clearly getting better. All that aside he seems a lovely, goofy lad and this is just a brilliant story and people are embracing it on both continents. CHI CHI CHI LE LE VIVA CHILE! 🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱
  21. Honestly thought it was a superb piece of analysis and I think the recruitment side is hugely helped by data and analytics and least to start to identify players to supplement visual scouting I wonder if even more so than ever scouting based on data becomes very tailored to the manager though as they may be identified due to specific metrics to suit a desired style of play. Of course that’s always been the case that certain players don’t fit in with new managers but I wonder if it’s even more likely this way
  22. As someone who spends a good chunk of their working life on some form of data analysis I will say first and foremost I am often in awe of the presentation and methods used in the analysis, at times it’s the theory I am not fully aligned with For me there’s a place in football for it but I see it more in a sense of spotting weaknesses in players games and then highlighting where they need to improve. If I’m going to present anything to our ExCo or HR director then the biggest thing in my mind is the ‘so what?’ I can produce a long deck with lots of figures and stats but there has to be a key message to take away or it’s meaningless. That’s why I find tables such as the one posted in here recently as detrimental to the ‘reputation’ of data in football, there’s no real takeaway from it but we could infer something from a positional analysis of people in similar roles etc So for me, time and a place but it shouldn’t be shoehorned in where it’s not needed and should always be used as a consideration to go with what the eye can see.
  23. Crossed wires I think. It’s Alex Marrow that’s signing, welcome home (again) son
  24. And the Man of the Match? Former Rover Yann Songo’o
