Wigan Athletic (H) - Monday Night Football (urgh..)

Would I rather be in Rovers position now rather than Wigan’s? 100% yes Would I rather we came 1st and Wigan 2nd in league one? Also yes, the two aren’t mutually exclusive! Just like getting into a university of choice, of course the main thing is getting the minimum grades but who wouldn’t rather get A* across the board to reflect the hard work over the years. Surely you always strive for the best possible. Seems odd to suggest winning the league wouldn’t have been better -

With all due respect Chaddy....... Theres not a chance in hell you wouldn’t have been delighted to have won the league Yes getting promoted was key but winning the league would have been the perfect scenario. That 2 goal lead thrown away to them and the Charlton game were missed opportunities. -
I thought that until I read this post! Im not sure if I made mine up or not but I remember David Speedie once coming out of the tunnel wearing a skirt

Gutted this isn’t Saturday as not sure I can make it now as we’re in London on Monday and may not be back in time My confidence about a win worries me so I’ll try and stay cautious, at this point every win is huge though, looking at the teams above us Preston away at Cardiff Brentford away at West Brom Forest away at Huddersfield Fulham home to Leeds Sheff Wednesday at home to Bristol City Some tough games amongst them Theres a real chance we could go into the game knowing a win will take us into the playoff spots, a win would definitely take us above one of Wednesday or Bristol City Regardless of that outcome (but not both) Traditionally we mess it up but we’ve been breaking tradition recently, lots of selection dilemmas of the good variety for once as well! -
Bristol City (A) - Bradley Dack's Christmas Break

I still think that Boris was being punished for being out on the night of the Tom Lawrence / Keogh incident. He bossed his first few games here then was out of favour, think maybe his lifestyle may hold him back slightly. What a strike that was though. Loved the move today when Nyambe absolutely blitzed down the wing, cut it back to Travis who then slid it in to Holtby on the overlap (we won’t mention the cross shot), some great movement in recent weeks off the ball -

Well with no Dack it may be Tony taking the chance to try something different should he leave in January Couldn’t predict where they all will play but keen to see how Gally and Brereton do together; £13m of Young British talent Could be a slightly obscure master stroke here 2-1 rovers -
Yep me and Mates used to predict it and like clockwork Dunny would get an invisible injury ever year around this time

Derby County (H) - We couldn't make it four... could we?
Tom replied to a topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I think the Phil Jones debut was superb management, just thrown in there, no time for nerves just go out and do your thing. Makes it more annoying when at times clubs mollycoddle players like they are little lambs, it’s football not neurosurgery. City must be keeping tabs on Tosin, he’d be their best defender at present, he’s a joy to watch, moves around effortlessly. Sadly he’ll be way out of our price range so I’m going to enjoy watching him whilst here -
I like the Tosin chant but feel we need something for Nyambe that isn’t casually racist I also enjoy the Burnley one, it’s catchy even if it’s not accurate
-
Well I was an advocate of his removal recently as I thought it was difficult to see us going forward Since then he’s made big decisions and they’ve paid off in buckets, we look a real team again. Well done Mowbray, long may this resurgence continue Ps stick with Nyambe he is the one

I would send Buckley on loan, can’t see any time I would bring him on ahead of Holtby, looked lost in his cameo -

What a great win Tosin absolutely Danny Shittu’d it, no way past him Nyambe immense Travis was awful, lost everything but Evans covered and no harm done -
Credit to the man, came in for a lot of stick last Saturday. Since then he had the balls to drop his captain and bring in a couple of others and we’ve got two huge wins. For now at least we are starting to look up the table again; long may it continue.

What a cracking result! Last Saturday I walked back up Livesey Branch Road thinking there was no way back for Mowbray, which is bizarre as we won that game! Since then we’ve got 2 superb results with the performance midweek in particular being absolutely brilliant. Football eh

I knew it was a generic name just couldn’t remember it ha The documentary showed how football can be a lonely place when out injured. I was lucky enough to attend a wellbeing talk this week hosted by Rio Ferdinand and Fearne Cotton, Rio shared some really personal anecdotes about how footballers can act and feel and it’s good to remember there is a human behind the shirt.

The lad seems genuinely delighted to be back on the pitch, hope it works out for him. Remember watching the lad (was it Will Hughes?) on the Sunderland documentary that was injured a lot and how it took its toll mentally.

Brereton playing for under 23s so Gallagher must be back tomorrow
-
Safe to say Brereton didn’t impress Mowbray on Wednesday then Gallagher must be back tomorrow
-
Well that’s a first, Raya made a great save tonight and drew chants from the Blackburn End!

Brentford (h) - the Mowbray love in!
Tom replied to MCMC1875's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Whilst Brereton didn’t do anything of huge note when he came on the most telling sign we need a new main man up top came in the first half Rothwell set off at a swuillion miles an hour and took it past 3 players and then played it to Graham just outside the box and continued his run, Graham’s let’s couldn’t work fast enough and allowed them to get back and snuff it out
