I think he’s decent and will come good, some of his flicks ons and hold up play has been really good, his passing terrible and finishing yet to be proven by a long shot but I think there’s glimpses there

A bit flat but a solid point. You’d take that and move on

Not a single cross into the box since we brought a target man on

Pears is a calamity

It’s a penalty more often than not. We’ve got away with that

Young keepers going to Atherron Colleries and City of Liverpool FC which appears to be 4 levels below league 2, is this the best we can do? Is the idea they just play football anywhere? It can’t be much higher level than sending them down Pleasington? -
Think I saw this lad playing for St Bede’s recently whilst waiting for my daughter coming out of dancing

Never rated Pears too highly but it sounds like he’s keeping this somewhat respectable -

Was listening on radio in car - not sure who the radio Lancashire co commentator was but he said the following: - Dolan just puts his head down and tries to run fast, no idea why he’s not swapped with Cantwell - it’s striking that we are poor at defending set pieces yet for some reason Ben Benson takes charge of them and Eustace sits down each time -

Tough match but 2 points or more over the next 2 away games would keep us in good stead. If we perform we can be winning these games. Genuinely nice that we have some selection problems up top, Ohashi has been a star but I think more effective from the bench, Gueye can cause chaos but needs to get back to his pre red card showings and dominate more, Cantwell is clearly class but do we keep building him to fitness, Dolan was super at weekend but crap the week before (and brilliant the week before that!), ACD is a bit of a wild card and we know about Weimanns class. For me Hedges would be out of the team but he seems relatively in favour, I’d be tempted to start Gueye and play Ohashi, Cantwell or Dolan off him, I like the idea of those 3 all playing when fit and moving between the roles. -
Genuinely excited by Cantwell, he’s just hugely talented. Keep his head in it and he could be a special player for us
-
Lovely results around us today and we stay in 3rd, Sunderland and West Brom lost and Burnley only drew
-
Weirdly I thought there was a chance Trav’s goal could because it was an intentional touch but as it was on target I doubt it. Even if it was two own goals it would be nice to win with no drama or worry!

Whoever allowed their keeper to wear a shade nearly as dark as their outfield players deserves a slap by the way
-
Bit weird the lengths you are going to to try and prove your pre match point but you do you. Neither were good today, Yuki fluffed a chance from 3 yards, Gueye had a silly effort from 45, not sure a battle of ‘which was least shit’ benefits anyone. I’d have both in ahead of Hedges any day but if it’s just one then Gueye looks better from the start and Yuki better off the bench
-
Yuki was worse today, wasted two glorious chances
-
Never a foul - got away with one there

What a ball Cantwell playing like a prime Dack

I didn’t mean just yet of course…..
